I installed this .zip and have a working camera using my nightly ICS build from EOS...
If you find this useful, please press the Thank button.
I think BRD already fixed this and updated us with it.
The nightly builds even include the fix as of #30
How is this different? Just wondering
The camera didn't work in #30 for me until I install this .zip.
I'll check #31 to see if it there.
Yeah, we've all had working cameras for days, bro.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEcCyMUoe_g
This shows 30 working.
Does it work with gtalk or Skype?
Greets
I'm on stingray 13 and camera working.
Will test skypebshortly.

(All credit to Cyanogenmod team and a huge thank you to gridlock32404 for taking over until the official nightlies are back)
The builds I link to now are maintained by gridlock32404 and are built from the most current github code around twice a day. These are NOT put out by the official CM team but they are the same code that they would build from. Please keep any discussions about the older nightlies in the other "CM Nightlies" topic here. So with that, the current CM7 source build:
Recent Changes:
http://review.cyanogenmod.com/
Known Issues:
-USB mounting of any kind (fixed as of gridlock build #28)
-LED blinking (fixed as of gridlock build #40)
-Some people report location issues (I haven't heard any reports lately)
-Rom Manager interaction with current Clockwork Mod is broken (fixed)
-No hardware acceleration yet (appears to be huge graphics speed boost as of build #45 though)
-Camcorder missing 720p (recording should now work though as of build #40)
Installation:
Rom & Gapps Download (Torch app is now included):
http://phones.crackflashers.com/inc/
Download both the Gapps and the CM7 zip files. If you download build 27, you will need a new kernel as the default one bootloops. I will still try to keep the list of known issues up to date with the nightlies so let me know if some bug is either fixed or appears as time goes on. The source builds are really coming together now so I highly encourage users to check them out! Cheers
Rule of thumb: If you are having issues and haven't already, do a clean wipe. Please lets keep bug reports down to what is actually wrong and not issues caused by upgrading from stable, nightly, or and older source build to the newest source build.
"First rule about crackflashers is we don't talk about crackflashing.
Second rule of crackflashers is we don't talk about crackflashing.
Third rule of crackflashers is we don't talk about changelogs."

thats cool. thanks
wonder why they are having usb mounting issues. thought that was fixed.
i also notice camcorder is not listed as an issue? that would be cool if it was working!
GB is seems to be coming along nicely.
Anyone who is flashing this, please report back with findings. Would love to see some progress on this!

So is CM 7 based off Gingerbread?
Downloaded... just waiting for the girlfriend to call and say good night before I start my late night experiments =)
Yes it is.
I'm surprised usb mounting is listed as an issue since one of the other GB Roms credits CM team for it working.

I grabbed old torch.apk and it works. Maybe I missed something on build to add it... or they had some reason for not including.

Yep, the change-log still indicates that video recording isn't working...that was the single feature that kept me from making it my daily. If you don't mind not having the video recording at your disposal, its almost perfect.

CM9 is usable, but far from perfect
short list of pretty big issues:
-no video camera
-no video chat
-opera mobile doesnt work
-no hw graphics acceleration - google chrome doesn't work, etc.
-a little sluggish in some areas. Especially Google Maps.
-Data is really weird. Sometimes it will break after a reboot and it's difficult to get it working. But once its working it will work great until you reboot again.
That said, I am currently using it. But debating going back to something like eclipse bcause of sluggish perf in some areas and no video.
dhacker29's cm9 bionic port
I just restored back to stock from the most recent nightly build of cm9 from dhacker29.
The reason for the restore was because bluetooth and making calls did not work. Camera and camcorder worked.
Hope the next couple builds address these issues cause the rom ran so smoothly!
There is a thread i created last week that has CM9 for anyone on the ICS leaks. EVERYTHING WORKS!!!. The Camera and Video.. I am currently on it and its amazing.. The link to the thread is below that outlines everything.

AFAIK, the camera does not work yet, in any android configuration. If you want to use it, for Skype, or something similar, switch over to webos. That's the beauty of the touchpad, dual boot......
Whats the latest on the camera fix??
:fingers-crossed: This sounds like a broken record ... (I said record) Is the camera still being worked on for ICS Android?? or has all support gone to CM10 Jellybean etc.. .. ... if so can someone post the best link to keep up with the latest camera status .. .. Thanks Dudes.. :cyclops:
Sorry for the probably FAQ, but I am reading the description of a lot of different ROMs to understand if there is one with camera working well.
Anyone can please help me? I'm a bit of a newbie, as far as the Optimus Black is concerned )))
Again, sorry for the (very probable) FAQ

Ill probably test CM10 during the holidays (in 1 week) since the feedback from latest nightlies of CM10 are really positive.

Picture quality of CM10 is worse than stock. CM10 camera is too strong denoising filters, pictures is poor quality.
Official CM10 is having quite the camera for daily use. You could, however use HDRCamera or CameraMX to improve the quality.
