24 7 shift rotation - Off-topic

Hi guys
Off topic from electrickery and need a little guidance ,to the forum mods this isn't so much a question more of a plee for help
There,s far more brains on this forum than i could ever wish to meet so your time is very much appreciated
Ok i work for a local firm running fast launch services ie pilot boats , stores medivacs , tug boats and so on , we run 3 crews of 2 persons 24 7 / 365
so at the moment were rotating on 7 days 12 hour shifts into 7 nights 12 hour shifts into 7 days off repeat
This morning we find out that one of our guys who retires in feb this year will not be getting replaced due to financial gain of the company and also the shipping world are struggling /cutting back so work is pretty lean
we have all been racking our brains on how to cover these hours with 5 guys in a sensible manner but could do with some pointers on the situation as this isn,t our field ,
Any help /previous experience with this would be most most welcome
again thanks for your time people
any reply to this is warmly received
Regards
Alfie

Anyone in Central London fancy a Saturday Meet up?

I have a great location in Holborn that can have about 10-15 people . Coffee shop with internet etc .
Might be great for those of us that need advice from the "Brighter" owners etc. Help to set up phone and install software etc. maybe just a 2 hour session .
No charge to anyone. WE just buy tea and coffee etc (Coffee is 100% excellent)
I for one would like some one to "watch over me " when i install my Tomtom navigator etc . And would like to discuss simple issues and how to "tweek" the settings
Can be the 19th of this Month
we could all work out a time (Not morning as it shut !!)
Luke
Shame...
Hi Luke...
Id love to but Im not in town for at least a month or two, hope you guys have a good laugh though.
Regards,
Mark.
The only questions that come to mind are: Is there gonna be any chicks and booze there?
Any movement on this? Is being organised or just at discussion stage? Would be definitely interested if this were to go ahead
well ... i am going to be there anyway !
even if its just 3-4 of us and we can share a few ideas maybe help with this "flashing Rom" business (Laptop and car readers etc i can bring)
best way is to say if you want to come and what you can "put on the table " ! I have only learnt a few things and have not a clue about the "Rom" issue and making updates.
there is a great bar 2 mins away ! ("Old crown"... bit funky and cool )

Help to make dreams come true!

Hello dear Xda - developers community!
One of my dreams , is to visit Netherlands and also continue my studyes at Netherlands university! I myself, am from Tallinn , Estonia.
There is a contest running for already 4 days and the last 24hours have started few minutes ago. There was a lottery and from 2000 people, 8 lucky one were chosen and got theif photo session done , and their Photos uploaded to Facebook.
Here comes the point. The one, who gets more "LIKE"-s on theif photo, wins a free trip to Netherlands (tickets to fly there and back + hotel + visit the university of your dream and get an interview there!)
From the very early days i was leading alot, but then suddenly one oppent got 400+ likes, with 1 day, and now im about 50 "likes" behind her. AND that's why i came here, to ask for Your help =)
I would really appreciate, and be very grateful, if you could help with my dream to be come true, and vote for my picture!
There are 2 steps to do that :
1) Dream Foundation Estonia | Facebook LIKE - this page, and then head to -->
2)Dream Foundation Estonia's Photos - "Sinu lennupilet unistuste ülikooli" vaprad finalistid | Facebook - and LIKE my photo right there
Voting ends 03.03.2010 at 00.00
And again, every LIKE is important to me , and i would be really thankfull if you could find some time to vote for me and help me ! ( and also SHARE with some friends this !)
All the best,
Daniil.
Sure thing
ok good luck
Please vote and help!, last 12 hours have started!!!
Last 6 hours to go! Really in need of your help!!!,
less than a hour to go!!!!!, help to get the win please!!!!

Help A Young Guy Win A DJ Competition

A family friend, at the tender age of 18, has been DJ'ing in small bars and clubs for the past couple of years desperate for his big break. He has received an opportunity to play at a big festival early next year alongside many big names. However, to be in with a chance of playing there, he needs to win a competition to receive the most Facebook 'Likes' on his page.
So, I apologise for the plug but could I ask as many of you, and your friends to spare a couple of seconds to 'Like' his page. He's a great guy with a huge talent and would highly appreciate every one of your votes.
Many thanks in advance guys .
Please click on the 'Like' button of his Facebook page Here

Like I already said to someone else, do you prefer 70 random answers or prefer to wait for that guy who will have the knowledge and time to assist you?
Your 2 unanswered threads aren't even 1 day old...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/help/edit-apns-please-help-t3086193 3.5 hours old

There are more than 6 millions members on xda, and 52 000 currently online so 70 total views for 2 threads and no answer after a few hours only is nothing outrageous.
All members come here to help for free, when they can (when they have the necessary knowledge to help) and when they have some spare time. Its not like if it was a service you have paid for.
Another thing, with the M8 and M9 released, this device is getting really old. There s a lot less ppl in the M7 forum but still some that come here to help on a regular basis.
Finally, its Saturday. Most pple are spending time with their families, friends, or whatever. So expect to wait a little more.
Hope you understand and that you'll change your mind about xda, still a great community.
