Does the Vivid have a noise cancelling mic? It looks like it does just to the left of the camera. It that one or is it just a vent hole?

When on a call the other person sounds very metallic, but when playing music through the back speaker it sounds fine. Also when on a call the speaker phone sounds fine. Is my speaker detective or is the quality just bad for the ear speaker?

HTC phones always have crappy speakers in them. I doubt you have a bad one, it's just that HTC is cheap and won't put in better speakers.

I disagree. Quality isn't bad, volume is the issue.
of the 3 HTC phone i've had here is my raking
1. tilt... by far had the best speaker
2. vivid
3. aria
i'm not impressed with the vivid's speaker but it's not horrible. not something i would choose as to whether to get the phone or not.
well I mean does anyone else's sound like they have their ear on a tin can?
I'm not having issues with my earpiece speaker but I am with the back speaker.. I can get a call and it is SUPER loud, so much so that the speaker actually distorts. I've tried turning it down but I have "pocket mode" on, so it boosts the volume, weird thing is, it's in a case, not my pocket. Could the case be screwing with the phone's ability to "sense" whether it's in a pocket or not? And why in the heck would the speaker even be distorting?! It does not do this when I play music thru it at max volume, by the way..

I'm having the exact same issue.
So When I play music I can cover up the right half (display facing up) of the speaker grille on the bottom and the sound is muffled, as expected. But when I cover up the left half of the grille, there is no change in sound which means the left half is not emitting any sound at all. Is this a hardware fault or is the grill just for show to house the mic as wellr?
its normal

I thought of the same thing with my Z Ultra. I thought it was like the HTC one speakers but unfortunately it's not. It's just a microphone and headphone.

Anyone having issues with people not being able to here you clearly on the other end? My wife called this morning and she was on speaker. I heard her loud and clear but she couldn't hardly hear me. When it was of speaker it was still weak. Now I did do a water test this morning. I'm assuming I didn't break anything since it's water proof but if it effects the speakers, that would be disappointing. Or the phone is just not working right.
Water effects mic and speakers, once it dries out it should be fine

Hello,
I'm seriously considering of buying ROG Phone 2, mainly for its front stereo speakers. Those who own this phone, could please tell me how are the stereo balance from this speakers? I used to have Sony Xperia Z5 Ultra. This phone had front stereo speakers but there weren't so good. I especially didn't like the balance of loudness coming out from each speaker. Bottom speaker was noticeably louder than top speaker, which was very annoying and ruining the experience of watching video or playing games on it. How are the front stereo speakers of ROG Phone 2?
Thanks
