If this post is for real than you should start by reading through each of the guides on this forum and the incredible s dev forum after that use the search function to find answers to any questions you might have. Than after all else fails return here to post a legitimate question. After you find out what an h-boot is and you realize its 1.16.0000 stop and decide weather or not you really want to continue down this path because at the end of it the loss of your warranty.
Happy reading.

The problem is, that more than likely hundreds of people have had this same issue, and most have found the solution without having to post a new thread. He's saying, you need to do some real legwork instead of just asking.

Just so you know - my phone is hboot 1.16.0000 (and no I will not repeat myself how to do it) and I have cyanogenmod7.
It's good, but now my warranty is voided. I cannot revert to stock because the HBOOT 1.16.0000 was an OTA update, therefore it cannot be downloaded at this stage, so I have to stick with custom roms.
My charger port is now stuffed after a month of having it (STUPID design having it on the side,) and after speaking to htc because my phone is software modded it is automatically void. even though it has nothing to do with the issue. So now my only other choice is a 3rd party company to fix it or pay the premium for HTC to fix it, because it's not under warranty.
Your choice.
Expect the unexpected
If you can get your charging port to work you can run an RUU flash a HBOOT downgraded and then rerun the ruu on your phone. You will become S-On again.

[Discussion] S-OFF for HTC Desire C/Golfu ...

Hey Guys.. I Created this thread for discussing S-OFF for our Desire C (obviously) ... Recently I contacted HTC Devs and here what they say ...
Dear Reinel Caluag,
Thanks for contacting HTC Philippines
we appreciate your continuous attentions with our products and services. We understand that you wanted to have an S off for your HTC Desire C.
For us to easily solve the issue, we would like to get the exact make and model of the handset. And it would be best if you could provide to us the IMEI or the serial number of your phone for proper documentation of your account with us. You may usually get the IMEI on the sticker at the back of the handset or by dialing *#06# on your phone’s dialer.
Regarding the concern, as we gathered some information, S-on or security on is a feature on our device where the system software of the handset is protected. For this, since you mentioned that you've already unlocked the bootloader of the handset and you still have S-On, we will raise this concern to our management for us to know how you can get S-off. For the meantime, please do expect another email response about updates and resolution for the said concern.
Please let us know if this information was able to help you. If not, kindly inform us the issues you have encountered. Should you need further assistance, you may give us a call at 1800-14410789 for PLDT or 1800-89086588 for Globe. You may provide your customer ID number “ for us to easily pull up your account. And our business hours are from Mondays to Sundays, 8:00AM to 8:00PM.
On the other hand, if we have successfully answered all of your concerns, you may close the ticket by accessing the links provided as well as for proper documentation of your account with us.
Once the ticket is closed, you will be receiving an invite for a survey. We would greatly appreciate if you can participate on a quick survey regarding how we were able to assist you with your concern.
Thank you for making business with us. Have a nice day!

What Do ya Think Guys.. ???
(*_*)
Good, Its good to see the HTCDev team showing even the slightest support for the Desire C
Maybe we will get S-OFF maybe we wont.
Right now it seems to be the thing we need most right now :/
Thanks for doing this Addictz10

Excuse my noobishness, but I don't really see the point behind getting s-off for our phone. I understand it will enable us to flash kernels from recovery mode itself and we can flash radio images to our phone (which I think is risky and i would never try that). And we can flash a different bootloader. But with it comes great security risks, and the possibility to actually hard brick our phones. So given a choice, I would still opt for S-on. Flashing kernels through fastboot is not that much of a problem, it hardly takes any time. Is there something I'm missing regarding S-off?

nah! my Device before got an S-off i flash kernels through recovery without having any problem... S-off is Safe ... but if you dont know what are you doing you'll end up in a big problem ... :3 ... if we have S-OFF then it means we will have a chance to get DUAL BOOT!! ..

yeah ... !!
My turn to state an opinion. IMHO dual booting is a bad idea. It takes up more space than it should. The only benefit i see from it is as a test enviorment.
Like have your main rom setup, and then flash test builds of other roms alongside it. But that is the only benefit.
Isn't different bootloaders device specific? If so who will be the advanced dev guy that will port/build them for us?
Im supporting s-off, but highly hesitant whether it will be of much use on a such low end device.

I am not sure about Dual boot.
becuse pico doesn't have S-off but a dual boot
I think they have s-off .. coz dual boot needs s-off because dual boot flash kernels through recovery... while us on fastboot

I agree with noahvt about changing splash screen and its so annoying having to turn on my PC to change kernel and we need to get a full touch cwm not twrp like 6.0.3.5

YAH! I KNOW!! Just do What we want -_-
Dear Reinel Caluag,
Thanks for contacting HTC Philippines
Thank you for the information that you have provided. Regarding the concern, as we've checked our resources, we found out that we don't need to turn the security off to accomplish the basic installation of custom ROM. Security on by default is good for some reasons, it protects the system software configuration such as radio, boot, recovery and system. However, once you've unlocked the bootloader of the handset, you will have lifted the restrictions of the handset and you have the means to customize boot, recovery and system images on your phone as you desire. For this, we are sorry to say that our management did not give the exact information on how to turn the security off. But as for coordination, normally, once you've unlocked the bootloader of the handset it will automatically have S-Off and developers would easily access or toggle the options on the phone specifically with Security off and on.

I've send an e-mail as well
I stated that they should atleast consider it!
EDIT: for my asus transformer it was so easy just unlock the bootloader and i was flashing a new bootloader immediately after that why does HTC have to make it this hard :\

I'm gonna buy a N4 at the end of the year since it has better support then HTC does :'( but i'll keep in touch and keep developing for this phone i still don't understand htc doesn't give us proper support (and because there is a big crack running trough my phone )

Couple quick questions on what I should do..

Didn't want to hijack anymore threads with my stupidity and lack of understanding. This way I can keep all my idiocy in this one thread.. So, I received my replacement htcone from ATT today. The hboot is 1.44
Should I root now as to get s-off, just in case I ever need to go back to stock or become a google edition Orr whatever other reason there may be.. And if so, which is the best method to use.
Or, should I update to 4.3 first and then root. Or does it make any difference at all? Sorry for sounding stupid on all this, but, well I am stupid when it comes to all this.. Basically, what are the pros and cons
I deft want root to de-bloat and I love arhd roms. I just don't know the best steps to take at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
*s¡gned
Never mind, I researched and figured it out. Now rooted with s-off. Cheers.
Mods, please delete, thank you..

Sprint MVNO

Hope this hasn't been asked before (couldn't find my answer in search) but I use Ting currently and I was wondering if I can unroot back to stock without any problems? I believe I'm supposed to use Sprint's ruu, but I am not sure and do not want to mess it up. Thank you.
Well it's been awhile since I asked the question, but unfortunately I still need to know. Help would be awesome thanks

Sorry to see nobody answered you, don't forget you are allowed to bump your thread once every 24h if nobody reply
you'll need to post the output of fastboot getvar all except your IMEI # so we can determine if there is a ruu available for your phone. Hopefully your phone use the same software version as Sprint models.
Yeah figured I could bump it, but I've been busy and forgot =D Anyway thanks for the reply and hopefully I'll have that today. Thanks again.
