help :( - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

please excuse my massive noobness. but yes, i rooted my note, with odin. I got the 2.6.35.7 netchip kernel and i dont like it....i want to go back stock. Kinda gutted i even tried tbf. also want to get rid of this silly yellow triangle....so irritating everytime i reboot.
Can anyone point me in the right direction of getting my phone back to normal?
and yes i've looked high and low on the forum...but i just can't seem to find what i need

Simple way is to flash a stock firmware with Odin.

Check your binary counter, go to download mode, you can read it on Lt upper corner, if it raised you need a JIG.
If only yellow triangle then just go with link above given by Richy

soudns like you need to flash back to standard firmware with Odin.
the download screen is...well the download screen, holding those buttons does not reset the phone, it allows it to enter doanload mode.
try searching on here for a guid on how to flash standard firmware using odin. that sould sort it.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S I9000 DXJV9 2.3.3 ROOT HELP!

Hi guys. I got my first android device 2 months ago and I am having lag issues.
This was given to me by my boyfriend and he said this is his old phone. Now what I want to do is to have it rooted so I can install Voodoo LagFix on it, however, since I am a very noob person when it comes to this I need everyone's help if possible.
Here are my phone's specs
GT-I9000
2.3.3
I9000DXJV9
2.6.35.7-I9000DXJV9-CL216763
[email protected]#2
GINGERBREAD.DXJV9
I tried to follow this blog since the one who wrote it said it was easy to follow
bala4linux.wordpress.com/2011/06/29/root-samsung-galaxy-i9000-2-3-3-dxjv9/?like=1&_wpnonce=27d9c2fb53
but when I am trying to put the zImage thingy it seems that I can't see the file after clicking PDA and also i double checked on it and it just says "file". no ".tar"
on it. Maybe my computer can not recognize ".tar" files? I don't really know. I wish you guys can help me. all I want is to get rid of the lag on the phone... btw I have optimized it on every angle possible (cache, move to sd, clear data etc).
My only hope to fix the phone is through voodoo lagfix (i think).
I am really noob on this. If you can please tell me how to do it step by step.
if you can show visuals then it would be very much appreciated.
NOTE:
please do not ask me to ask my boyfriend this and that.
after he left Korea we broke up. also, to clarify i think this phone is the international version since its not from anycall.
Your help is very much appreciated ^_^
EDITED:
Also, please allow me to add. I saw a video on youtube rooting there was a yellow thing on odin upper left. When I did it it was not there... They yellow thing under the green bar stating progress i think? says pass and all that ... I hope it was a big hint on how to root my phone =(( ..
Waiting for your generous help ~_^

(Q) Can someone show me a good place to repair my phone?

Hi, guys..
It seems I have fallen foul of the bricked device issues going around. Specifically, the soft brick variety.
Tried all sorts through Odin, played about in CWM but nothing and I mean NOTHING seems to work.
Last night I managed to get my SD card out, because I have a theory that it was to do with permissions/corruption/a read error on the internal memory card. So I put a GB rom on it, but I now cant get into CWM which SUCKS!
Anyhow, I need a good reliable place in UK to send my phone for repair..
Any answers?

If able to get into download mode, then download and flash KL8. it may stuck while flashing in between. Just make sure you have stock Recovery and No Yellow triangle. then go to Samsung Service center.

I found this yesterday when googling for a friend who needed the same thing:

Why don't you give them a call and see what they say?
Hope this helps.

[Q] Have I bricked my S2 whilst rooting? Can get to downloads screen.

Hi, all.
I used Heimdall to flash the kernel as part of rooting my new phone. The messages in the terminal window looked good and I got the blue progress bar. The phone rebooted and I got a yellow warning triangle and everything freezes. I downloaded a kernel image from Samfirmware and now the phone boots without the yellow warning, but no other change. It still gets stuck. Can anyone help or is my phone bricked?
I can boot into download mode and am using a Linux PC.
At the moment, my options seem to be:
1) Use Heimdall to flash something? I have a 400meg download from Samfirmware, but don't know how to flash the files besides zImage, using Heimdall.
2) Get a USB dongle from eBay to reset the page that says I've altered the handset. This means I should be able to take it back to T-Mobile.
3) Go to a Samsung service centre and potentially pay lots of money to have the phone repaired. Anyone know how much this is (in the UK)?
Thanks,
Chris.
Actually you don't need to do that , as long as you can access download mod then your phone is fine , what you need to do is this :
- Download a stock rom including all stuff (PIT . PDA . PHONE . CSC . BOOTLOADER ) and also Odin 3 v. 1.82 Don't use another flashing software (as far as i know the one you used is still new and it may still have a lot of bugs so its better to use odin) .
You can download all the files i told you to on this page : http://www.androidgen.fr/tutoriel-s...id-gingerbread-2-3-6-odin-article-2110-2.html
Its in french but i don't think you will find problems finding the download links ^^
- After you get all the files place them according to the page each one at its right place in odin and make sure that "Re-Partition is checked .. and hit start
if all goes right your phone will reboot and work again
Good luck
Edit : This files are for S1 , your're asking for help about an S2 i suggest you post it in the correct section or download similar files for the S2 and follow the same steps
Thank you, zizou.
I'm sorry I posted in the wrong area, I'll try again.
Sorry I wasted your time.
Chris.

[Q] Need to restore for warranty but USB doesnt work.

Hi guys,
Bit of an awkward one, I need to restore my Note from CM10 to a standard rom to send it back to Samsung for repair of the USB and screen burn in.
Only problem is the USB not working means I cannot do it via the PC, is there any other way I can sort this out or am I stuck with replacing the USB connection myself and stuck with a bad screen?
Maybe with mobile ODIN? Not sure if they can detect if I use that? Also any idea whats the best stock rom to use please? (UK Based)
Cheers for your help.
mobile odin is the way to go... while on cm, clean the data. then load any stock jb rom file and flash.. dont use ota survival option in mobile odin.

Just download some stock rom and flash it. Then reset flashcounter (& triangle) using triangleaway (I know older version worked on SGS2) and You're good to send.
Download the Stock ROM from Sammbile.com of your own country.
Use Mobile Odin to flash the STOCK ROM
Then reset the counter by Triangle Away, Yes it works fine.
And then send it to SC.
:good:
Thanks for the help guys, one last problem, how can I use Triangle away without root? As I guess I best not send it back to samsung with it rooted.
you cannot.. you will need to root. use TA and then unroot it again.
Was just reading the description on mobile odin and it says it doesnt increase the count so I should be ok just with that.... hopefully
flashing a stock rom doesnot increase counter. if your count is 0 and binary is official, then its fine

Yeah, You're right. Sorry, I gave You the wrong order.
First reset counter and triangle, then flash stock ROM (as it doesn't increase flash counter)
