Anyway your ROM is not rootable, I shown you thread above having all information about wat to do if you have LA1. Read it multiple time till everything gets clear. Then you have any query, post it.

Hi Ketan
Arrived on your blog quite late to realise that my Note with GB DDLC1 cannot be directly rooted. But before I could realise I had tried rooting with Super one click and Exynos. Post trial my phone camera seems to be stuck. Camera opens but takes nearly 3-5presses to take one snap.
Any help would be appreciated Dr Ketan

Samsung Galaxy Tab Root, Backup, Rom Steps

Hey, i bought a samsung galaxy tab and i'm new. I always had iphone and ultimately never used a android. Plz someone help and provide steps . I feel insecure and people tellin me i'm not good enough Shout out to the haters!
Have you tried reading all the posts and the tutorials on this thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933400
Helped me immensely and should answer all your questions too.
Hi,
I have followed all the steps in the rooting Galaxy Tab for N00bs thread and got the message from the superoneclick that my tab had been successfully rooted.
edit.
After much fumbling about and doing it twice I think it has worked, It is not clear to a new user if you device is rooted or not as the guide just ends saying 'your device is rooted'!
It took forever to boot up again and it appeared that all my apps had vanished but eventually they came back. Seemed very slow.
I got an app called rootchecker that tells you if it has worked or not - and on the second time through it worked! Magic! Now hopefully will get titanium backup working now! Also hope to get the thing unlocked from O2. Then get a good custom rom. Errr, how exciting what else?
Thank you
Try reading these after the one above:

[q] heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!!!!!!!!

Hi,
Excuse me but this is my first time here as well my first time having android device, and have no idea of it, i have a problem, i have galaxy note (Only 2 days) and i went to your forum to root my device (As i thought it is like jailbreak for my old iphone) and i downloaded the "CF-Root-SGN_ZS_MUL_KK1-v5.0-CWM5" as it was for my kernal vrsn, i followed the steps and all worked just fine...well after some friends got me worry about that rooting can damage your phone of am not aware of what i am doing, so i found a video of how to unroot using "DooMLoRD_v1_UNROOTING" and i followed the steps, so after i unroot one of those 2 icons was deleted, but CWM was not and each time i open it it says " CMW Manager needs SuperUser access to function ! If you have SU installed make sure CWM Manager is not blocked, then reboot and try again" so i use "DooMLoRD_v1_UNROOTING" again but nothing happened, then i use " CF-Root-SGN_ZS_MUL_KK1-v5.0-CWM5 " and clicked on (ALREADY ROOTED) and nothing changed then i thought that if again use (NOT ROOTED YET) then it will solve, but after the process finished, NOTHING CHANGED ONLY CWM icon is there.....
So i want to bring everything back to normal...HOW I CAN DO THAT..and please i am a beginner so please use easy steps with me....
Again Sorry for the inconvenience but have nooooooooooo idea what to do

Really appreciate your fast reply
go to www.sammobile.com find firmware version which you want and flash via odin
Try this guide for installing a ROM using Odin. Worked for me and many others.

But is that mean that ill loose all my data (apps, contacts, msgs...etc) and if so is there a way that i can backup and restore later after the flashing ??

Flashing using the guide removes root but leaves personal data untouched.

Your friends are clueless. Rooting won't destroy your phone. Should've kept it rooted.

New Galaxy 8.9 owner?

Hi everyone
I'm a proud owner of a Galaxy Tablet. Also I'm very new to forums and tablets for that matter. Recently I got a message in my settings that there is an update available. This is my first tablet so I'm not very expérienced. My tablet is rooted. It crashed a couple of times but all in all seems to be working. My question is if it's safe to update. I read in the forums about phones being bricked and other problems with updating rooted phones and tablets. Is there anything I should do before installing the update to make sure it works?
Any advice is appriciated. Cheers.
Just do the update. I'm not going to guarantee that you won't have problems but this upgrade comes via official channels. I have not had any problems in upgrades with my Galaxy S and S2.
Having said that:
Backup what you can.
Refresh or check the stickies on how to reflash if necessary. So download odin and stock roms just in case. Not necessary but may come in handy.
Otherwise just do it ;-)
P.s this is where I insert disclaimer of having no liability

Just to make sure
Thank you very much indeed for your prompt reply. Dont get me wrong please but I'm so inexperienced that it makes me paranoid. So just to make sure that nothing goes wrong I'd like to verify that were talking about the same tablet. Samsung Galaxy P7310. IT'S ROOTED. (So I don't have to unroot it to update?)
I'll start reading into all this ODIN business since I've never done it. Probably shall have more questions then.
And if we are talking about the same update. Could you tell me your opinion on it please.
Stock ROM
And where could I get the stock ROM for my P7310 (XWKI2 if it's build specific ) please?
And I bought it through Amazon.fr if it's country specific. I already read too much stuff about tablets bought in Hong Kong.
Cheers.
I tried to search within xda forums using [stock][p7310] and there are some firmware models. You may want to try SAMMOBILE as well. As have not done, I cannot be any more specific.
Normally, you should be able to rely on the updates that get pushed through the system. I say 'normally' but you have rooted and 'may' cause some instability. I did notice in Kies that there is an emergency firmware recovery option which is also an option.
Chances are the update will only be 3.1 to 3.2 (am on 3.2 now and ICS may be around the corner). Also an update usually removes root.
Personally, I would not mess with root just yet if you are new. I only started messing around with root and roms on my Galaxy S as there were options to fix specific issues. It's a good learning curve but you spend a lot of time fiddling so make sure you backup.
Thank you very much indeed for your help. I shall be carefull with the root. Now the only programs that use it are Titanium Backup and Ad Hoc Enabler. And I never touch it by myself. Or at least not yet. Your clear answers calmed me down so as soon as I get a bit of time (All this backup/restore business sounds time consuming at least for the first time) I wll definitely update.
No problems. Main thing is to give the update time. Usually takes about 5-10 minutes or less but feels longer watching. I have soft bricked by being impatient during a flash and unplugged from Odin. Reflashing fixed. You shouldn't have these issues if normal update.

the update
Hi everyone
Thanks for your support before.
It doesn't work though. I flashed CWM to create a back up. Did it. And then tried updating. It
downloads. Starts updating. Gets to 12% and then reboots with the message that the update failed
and I should try updating with Kies. Again I read some posts about bricking the tablet while updating with Kies. So I'm here looking for help. Could it be because of CWM. And if it is could I get rid of it just for the update and flash it back.
Cheers in advance.
update doesn't work
Hi everyone
Thanks for everyone's support before. It gave some confidance.
It doesn't work though. It's starts updating and then reboot with the message "Update failed, try using Kies, or go to Samsung service centre".
I removed root it didn't help. I got CWD flashed. Could that be a problem.
Could I get rid if it just to be able to uodate?
Need some help here. Kies seems dodgy judging by the posts.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Help me ROOT my Galaxy Note!

Hello,
After coming back from holiday, my phone suddenly stopped recognising my SIM. It see's a SIM so I no longer get an (Insert SIM Message) but I can't do anything with the sim. This is what I see.
Due to this problem I tried resetting my phone to no avail, I then stumbled upon this. I thought that this was fantastic, I could fix it without going to a store or whatever.
On my quest to root my phone for the first time ever I used a guide from the reliable How-To-Geek. I did everything the guide asked me to but unfortunately my adventure came to a halt when 'SuperOneClick' kept freezing when reaching step 7.
I have never rooted my phone so I really don't know where to begin, your help would be greatly, greatly appreciated! :good:
P.S (I have never rooted or ROM'd this phone before?
Here is what you can do
Which model is it ?? International or is it a locked network ??

Hello, do you mean for the SIM? It is the exact same as the screenshot of my settings in the first post. This is because I didn't manage to root it yesterday
The phone is completely fine apart from the SIM problem, that's why I want to root it
The __ONLY__ Current method you should be using to root is the philz kernel method. do not use any other method.
Please go to the philz thread.
PM me if you need more help later.

Thank you very much dude,
I am slightly confused by the terms used. As you can see from my thread, I initially tried using SuperOneClick which seemed simple as it just involved installing apps on my computer and clicking 'Root'.
Currently on my phone, I don't have to backup anything as I just reset it a couple of days ago, it has its stock rom (I believe that's what it is called) Would I have to install a custom ROM or something to root my phone?
Lastly, is this the thread you are talking about?
Thank you very much again dude

Super one click anything is either a lie and bull**** or simply not for this device
Yes that's the correct thread
Make sure to find the right one for YOUR ROM. Read the instructions carefully. No you don't need a custom ROM.
Easiest way to to flash it from stock recovery with the philz file on your external SD card if u have one

In your system settings you will go yo about phone. Match the version there to the Phil version.
I still don't get why you are rooting to fix this...
I am not sure who told you rooting would fix this...
You went on vacation and came back and the sim didn't work
Did you try removing the sim and reseating it in the phone?

Look at the original post. A user had the same problem and his solution was Titanium Backup Pro, he used it to clear user cache or something - this made the SIM work again.
I've taken out the SIM and everything, it works on other phones, just not mine
Lastly, about matching the version on my phone to the one on the thread:
Do I match the baseband version/Kernel Version or build number?

you match the kernel
Really man you MUST read the instructions in the philz thread its very clear.
Well you can try all that, I personally if it were my device would flash philz (safe kernel), boot to recovery, and just do a factory reset and see if it works... but I would only do this AFTER backing up my EFS using Ktool....
ggood luck
but if you want to try clearing cache etc first, no harm done of course
Just a side-note: regarding your links, etc that you post in the OP - I won't read those. I don't think other reputable members here will either. No offense please. I only trust sources on XDA, not random websites. If its not on xda, as far as I'm concerned, it is either incorrect or doesn't exist (i will act blind to it).
The Philz kernel for the Note is easy to find via google. Look either direct for the kernel or look for a PA installation guide and skip the odin option.

There is only one root account on a galaxy note, so it is the one-and-only-best.
If you want to root your device read Dr. Ketan's thread (search for it, good excercise for your brain).
And: best rom xyz posts or threads are against XDA rules.
Just read it: your best Rom thread yesterday was closed. Repeating this won't help...

Don't worry, they will not ask you anything about knox or root.
Tmobile won't even look for root or knox in the first place unless you tell
them all those details.
Also you do not need to exchange your phone because it's a simple fix.
You must have installed or flashed something which is not compatible
with your N910T Tmobile phone which caused the issue you are having.
The only reason you have not had any luck in fixing it yourself is the fact
that you do not have enough experience yet to figure it out and you have
not read enough posts here in xda about your particular issue.
The problem you are having with your phone is not a new one, many people here
have had the exact same problem with their phones and have solved the problem.
The first thing you need to remember is to always follow the instructions to a "T" before
flashing firmwares, roms, kernels, recoveries, themes and any mods or addons.
If you do not fully understand the posted instructions here in xda then post a question
regarding your specific issue before you do anything.
Good luck,
Have a great day!
Sorry, but currently your warranty is void forever.
Are you following Odin instructions correctly? <-Most important step
Are you flashing the correct firmware for your phone? <-Also important
Have you tried different versions of Odin?
Are you getting a PASS when using Odin?
