When I first got this phone I could plug it into USB and mount as disk drive, and the internal and external storage would pop up, now they popup in mycomputer as drives but I cannot browse the contents, I get a "please insert disk" like when you have a cheap card reader plugged into your computer with no card inserted
Anyone else know how to fix this? I can no longer dump photo's off via usb
it appears as though, if when I connect the USB, I tap the "mount sd card" button several times it starts working weird

how do you access your sd card when the nook is plugged into the pc? like when i plug my phone it the sd card will show up as a portable drive on the pc but with the nook it will not. the nook internal memory shows up but that's it. do i need a driver on the pc for it or is it not possible
You should see 2 drives. one internal & 1 removable SD card. Try reinserting the SD card, it's kinda tricky.
Cheers,

re-inserting it worked after the 3rd time thanks
I have a Nook Color, and I made a 4gb SDram that allows me to book to Android 2.3. It is possible to plug that thing into my PC and read/write to the free space on the SD card? I tried plugging in a generic Micro SD cable, and it comes up with 2 drives that it says are not formatted.
If you used the "size-agnostic" instructions or a derivative, then all you have to do is plug the charger cable into a PC.
Two drives will appear, one that's your /sdcard partition, the other is your /emmc partition. They should both be fully accessible from the PC like thumb drives, and you will need to tell Windows when you're done with them, like any thumb drive.
Windows has trouble with partitioned SD cards, and generally doesn't support the ext filesystems Android uses for some partitions; when you plug a card like this into a Linux PC, you get four drives, all fully accessible. Going through the NC exposes only the two partitions that everybody can use.

You can but only able to access it via usb cable plugged between your NC and your PC.
I bought an official samsung accessory today (the microusb to female usb connector) and tried it out on the Note - when connected a notification pops, and even media scanner runs, but it's no where to be seen under usbstorage?
I tried the same thing on a SGS2 and it works fine.
If the media scanner runs, it should be mounted and appear at:
/sdcard/usbstorage/sda
I assume you are trying a USB stick that's formatted as FAT32. If you are connecting a hard drive, you may find that you have to use an external power supply for the hard disk drive.
i got an unofficial adaptor. 1st time I tried it, I got the connection status bar info & media scan but usbstorage/sda folder was present but empty (with a FAT32 flash drive that had several files & folders).
I disconnected then reconnected and my files showed up OK. It has worked consistantly thereafter.
Is there a way to mount the SD in mass storage when connected to pc? transferring lots of files normal way takes a vary long time
Yes, with the USB not plugged in go to Settings/Xperia/USB connectivity and the options will be there. You can only mount the external SD card as MTP though.
Thanks :good:
Howdy. I have plugged my thumb drives into a mini converter, gone to "storage" -> external USB storage and is saying its empty. I click the empty message, and it asks me "Format USB storage - are you sure you want to format the USB storage? All data in it will be lost?"
I have tried several thumb drives (fat32 and NTFS) with stuff on them, and I get the same message. Why aren't my files being seen ? Please note I am not tech savvy, so please be gentle. Cheers
