[Q] LeWaOS mobile networking shutoff fix - Hero CDMA Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I would post this to the development forum but my lurker status prevents me. I'd love to give LeWa another shot, but the Mobile Networking kept shutting off and the Roam icon never went away.
I looked in the LeWa thread. I saw signs of workaround's but not an outright fix. Have recent (3/9) updates fixed these issues?
Thanks, Arnold

Nope.
The Chinese apparently messed with cdma info in framework.jar. I'm gonna try to fix it.

perhaps. I dont know much about the radio aspects of cellphones, but one could certainly research it and test it out.
Damnit. I can't seem to find anything legitimate on the subject. Nothing that helps in the learning process, anyway.

You could try to contact cricket to find out their settings for hsxpa support, GPRS class, and HSDPA/HSUPA settings.
No guarantee they will know wtf ur talking about, but worth a shot.
Hint: Ask to speak to a North American Tech.
Yeah. I'll check it out. Almost got a job at a local cricKet store just from the knowledge I picked up here. Hah. That would've been sweet.
Sorry for the double post and super-old-thread-bump, but I found this and didn't know if it could help, but it's definitely worth a look.

I also read something potentially useful in the Captivate forums about changing the system partition to ext4 to reduce lag. I think it was called "one click lag fix" (I think it might be synonymous with Voodoo), but I didn't want to go searching for the link.

Engadget loading really slow

For some reason engadget does not load or it is very very slow
this happens time to time on other sites also.
yahoo/google load up fast as anything but there are lags on other sites.
anyone else having this problem?
Hrm... Miren will not load anything for me right now,
I opened "web" and google/engadget/yahoo etc came right up. That is annoying...
Edit: wtf Miren working fine on Wifi. Tried clearing Miren data I can get to google and google stuff, but can't get engadget or newegg or yahoo to load.
Edit2: Well than I tried Web again and it didn't load so it appears I may be having data issues anyway at the moment.

I wasn't, this is the first problem I have had but I typically have poor data at work (i work in a school, giant brick enclosure) and so far the Skyrocket has been wayyy better at work but today I had some data issues. I haven't had a chance yet to mess with it more.

awesome speeds are def consistent now!
This is happening to the Vivid as well I was told ATT was working on a fix
hmm seems im not the only one with a problem, i damn near went to best buy to swap the thing for another.
Called AT&T, they asked me if I can try that sim out on a Vivid at the store to see if I get the same problems. If it does, they'll swap out the sims or if it doesn't, they'll swap the phones. I know it's not the phones. They even said themselves that the "pta" network is brand new so they're still working out the kinks.
I wouldn't have called if the "change your APN" settings had working MMS capabilities. It doesnt, and I really do need that.
Just went and swapped out for a new vivid and LTE sim card. Same problems. Me and the rep checked the 4 phones on display, 2 skyrockets and 2 vivids , all were showing the same problems.
This is in Frederick, MD.

WiFi connection issue...

I'm having an issue where I cannot stay connected to my WiFi network. Everytime I disconnect, I have to sign back in...it won't auto connect. I've tried multiple roms and kernels with the same result. Any quick fixes that yall know of?

Actually I have a problem with mine dropping WiFi all together. I know it is working because my husband's iPhone stays connected and it still works when mine has dropped. Lost 4 calls today because of that problem. Tried tinkering with the WiFi setting on the One between 2.5 ghz and 5 ghz and auto. Makes no difference. Connection lasts maybe 5 or 10 minutes then it disconnects. If you have a solution let me know.

Have you tried looking to see if your phone is actually saving the password? It is saved in the following location;
/data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf
Open this file up using a file explorer with root capabilities. Is your network SSID and password in there?

It is saving it because all I do to get it back on
Is turn off WiFi and turn it back in again. Then it works for five minutes or so. And I looked at the link that was provided above and made sure I had WiFi on always power saver off etc. See what it does tonight.

Sorry, my response was directed towards the OP. Should have made that clearer.
Sometimes dropped connections with android phones comes from having your router set to 'auto' for channel selection. If yours is this setting, try changing it to a fixed channel. Use the app Wi-Fi Analyzer to find a clear channel.

Well I contacted HTC, and I did the steps ad posted above and so far no problem. Of course it will probably happen after I post this knock on wood. Didn't have to do what HTC said below since it works now but will definitely do it if the problem persists. I also uninstalled a battery widget because one of the posts said to try that also.
We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with the Wi-Fi connection on your HTC One and can certainly provide some assistance to help resolve the issue.
To start, we will need to check a setting on the device. From the Home screen, access Settings>Wi-Fi>Menu>Advanced. Make sure the DLNA Auto-IP is disabled. Also, I know you have also changed it prior but set the Wi-Fi frequency band to 2.4 GHz. We will need test the combination to see if there is any difference.
If needed, we will need to make sure there is not an issue with the phone trying to get through your network’s security. For this, we will first need to remove the network from the phone. Access Settings>Wi-Fi then tap and hold on the name of the network to select Forget Network. Once done, reboot the phone and temporarily remove the security from the network. It should be open with no password and the SSID being broadcast. This is only temporary so we can test the phone to see if the same thing continues with an unsecured network. Once this is tested, you can add the security back to the network.
We would also recommend testing the phone with other public networks to see if you still having issues with the connection.
Feel free to reply should you have any further questions, Christina. If you feel more comfortable discussing issues by phone, you can contact Technical Support at 1-866-449-8358, 8 am to 1 am ET, 7 days a week.

Having the same issue with the wifi. Connection is erratic even if I am in the same room as the router/superhub. I went to the store today and they tested it there as well. They uninstalled some power saving apps and it seemed to work ok but at home same issues. Loosing connection when surfing and if I leave the room no connection at all.
Will have to get back to the store tomorrow to get it replaced.

Hey, are ya using an international ROM on an ATT One? I know with trick droid there was a recent issue where ya had to select "international" mode for things like WiFi to stick, WiFi tethering etc.
Ps. I remember ya from the GN2 Forums! My old username was cjsspape haha

Yea man...I remember you...haha. The One is bringing a lot of good people over from what I've been seeing.
As far as using an international ROM, yes I am....was using Trickdroid, but now I'm trying out AndroidRevolution 8.0...same issue. Next time I flash another Rom, I'll try the international setting instead of the ATT setting. Wouldn't I have to change the APN if I did that, or does that setting adjust something else?

Nah I didn't have to change anything. I get average 15-25 meg lte speed. A lot of guys were having the WiFi passwords reset on boot with the att package checked in aroma. From what I've seen the only difference with international & att is the signal icons. I had to switch because WiFi tether wasn't working under att.

Day two and WiFi still going good! Have no clue why it was doing it the first day I did it. Just turned power saver off. WiFi on during sleep always. Removed my battery widget. Rebooted phone, no problems since.

I sometimes have the same wifi problem. I think I have to wait untill there is a software fix.
UPDATE: I bought a new router (<with wifi support 2G and 5G) and all my problems are solved.

no evdo/1x?

so I thought my software was mucked up but then I read a bunch of people are having connectivity issues over the past few days. sprint is blaming my phone but I doubt it, specially with it being a known issue.
basically the phone is having a really tough time conecting to evdo and 1x so much so that I can happily be surfing the web in lte and yet I cant make any phone calls or text messages
anyone else having this issue? and has anyone found something to help?

Most of us have had luck by changing from LTE/CDMA to CDMA only in your network settings. Until there is a software update we are all stuck for now. I had sending text issues for a day or so then that went back to normal. It's a Spark issue. do not worry too much. Neither Sprint or HTC is saying anything about when the update will come.

bcmon.apk and help with WiFi driver?

Hey guys I've been familiar with backtrack (now Kali) for some time and was really curious if some kind soul on xda could help me figure out (a)why bcmon is failing to enable monitor mode and (b)what I can do to correct the problem and get it running. I'm pretty sure our phones are equipped with the bcm4330 chipset required -if I'm wrong please tell me- but something at the driver level is hanging up the process I think.. I'd love to see this work.. Anyone with any ideas or possibly info on how to compile a custom WiFi driver package for our phone to add support I'd love to hear what you have to say. And before anyone says anything about trying to steal someone's WiFi please understand this is purely for fun I have and pay for my own internet lol..
