Hey guys, just wondering if its possible to pull a camera.apk file from another ROM and push it to another ROM? And how do you go about doing that? For example the camera.apk from Cyans ROM to Enoms? Thanks in advance!
I'm looking for a Phone.apk that has dialpad sound when you are INSIDE a call. I have a Captivate, but the phone.apk for a i9000 ROM will work okay if I'm using a 9000 based ROM.
The current 2.2.1 ROMs that I tried do NOT have the phone.apk that I'm looking for:

ROM Kitchen
I was also wondering if I could take the phone.apk out of a 2.2 ROM and stick it into a 2.2.1 ROM? I tried last night, but after a call, got a FC, so I really don't think it will work.

Hi everybody, I have a little request. Can someone post the file "browser.apk" from an ICS Stock ROM for Galaxy Note?
I need to install the stock browser modified by Samsung, because it's the only one I like. I don't like the stock ICS browser (it's too laggy for me, expecially for the pinch to zoom), so I want to replace it with the Samsung Stock version.
Can somebody help me? I made a search and I found only the Gingerbread version of the browser. It doesn't work with my ICS version (it's a Cyanogenmod 9 RC1). I can't install a stock ICS ROM because my Note is an italian one, and ICS is not officially shipped anymore.
I'm not very familiar with installing ROMS on Android, so I don't want to install unsafe ROMs.
If ICS Stock browser.apk doesn't work, is there a modded ROM with the Samsung Stock browser?

Downloads stock ROM for CWM from the DEV section.
Unzip, locate the required APK and drop it into system/app then reboot.
Job done.
Backup any files you replace, just in case..... Copy them to your memory card.
You need to be rooted for this to work and use a tool like ES File Explorer that allows you to mount system as writable.

I have found Stock ROMS you can install with Odin. Are they the same? Because I tried to extract browser.apk but i couldn't.

To be honest I don't know
There must be a way of extracting the APK but I've never worked with Odin ROMs
You could try one of the Rocket ROMs
They are CWM and close to stock
Because they are CWM they are basically zip files so it is easy to extract APK
Or search the forums for info on extracting from TAR and zimage

I recently switched from CM10 to PA because of bugs with CM one of the things i miss about CM is the browser which is very similar to ics browser+ which dose not work on jb so i tried extracting the browser.apk form CM but when i placed it in system/app it did not make any difference to the browser at all, is there a modified apk that will work with all roms or is it something im doing wrong?
