[Q] Wondering?? - Motorola Droid 4

I have a droid 4 and it has LOTS of junky apps on it I don't use like NFL live, etc. They can't be uninstalled by deleting them so if I "root" the phone will I be able to remove these apps without messing up phone?

Have a look at:

I'm a very happy user of Titanium Backup Pro (with other phones) so I immediately installed it to my KFHD after rooting.
I'm now keen to know if anybody did the same and tried "Freezing" apps.
Freeze is a nice way of temporarily removing apps (to first see if everything keeps on working fine), but it is still dangerous because if anything really bad happens preventing a full boot, it would be impossible to run Titanium Backup again and Unfreeze the app.
Any of you had the same idea and tried experimenting a bit?
I would love getting rid of some of the Amazon system apps running in the background...

Of course yes! Me too a very happy and maybe happier a bit user of Ultimate backup (Titanium played some dirty with market links).
And i've tried to freeze safe way.
But some apps like:
- Amazon device client platform,
- Amazon Web runtime
- DRM protected content storage... (I don't use any of amazon services)
I really afraid to experiment untill nandroid will be released for KFHD. That's why was the question.
Thanks. I followed you straight away.
I'm wondering now about:
- Amazon MP3
- Amazon Platform
- Amazon Video
- Audible
- Content Management Service
- IVONA TTS
These are all processes appearing as active (I use System Panel Lite) after a boot.
Anybody knows what these processes are about and if there is anything that can be safely frozen?
I would not mess with many of the Amazon applications at this moment in time.. But there are still some things that can be removed without hiccups.
what is the night android version?

Save to remove list?

I haven't seen, yet, a list of what I can safely remove from the stock version of this phone. Obviously, its rooted and I am using RomToolbox Pro for software removal/freezing. I have removed the t-mobile crap and some of the other basics like calculator, calendar, some google stuff but what else can I get rid of without causing my phone to need to be reflashed or worse, trashed? I want to go as lite as possible and I like to replace things with better 3rd party apps as I did with the calculator, calendar and alarm thus far.

Even Better, there's a flashable zip that doesn't just have lists, it can remove the apps for you.
Check out ROM Cleaner.

Which apps are safe to freeze or remove for the Metro PCS Galaxy Exhibit?

Hey guys, I'm running the Metro PCS Galaxy Exhibit (SGH-T599N) and I'm looking to free up some space by removing apps that come preinstalled on the phone. I want to make sure I don't make the same mistake I did with my last phone (LG Touch- LG-MS770) by uninstalling an app which then soft bricks the phone and requires an Odin flash. Can anyone help me out here? I'm looking to either freeze in TB or uninstall:
Flipboard
Google+
Google Chrome
Google Play Movies & TV
Google Play Music
Google Text-to-Speech Engine
MediaHub (Metro PCS app)
Swype
Visual Voicemail (Metro PCS app)
YouTube
Are these safe to remove? Thanks in advance.
They should all be safe to remove but I guess you'll losing swipe capability on keyboard.
Make a bkup in TB before delete.
There's a lot of other bloatware to remove as well but if you're unsure then start by freezing them.

I agree they should be safe to remove, but should be safe and are safe are two different things. As I said in the OP, I made the mistake of uninstalling an app on my LG Touch (it was the Google Play Books app) and it soft bricked my phone. It was a hassle to restore the phone then, and I'd like to avoid that mistake here if I can.

[Q] Deleting bloatware and non system essential apps.

I generally try to run a minimalist setup, with all the bloatware and unwanted apps removed on my rooted devices. I don't plan o root this s6 edge but would like to know if there is a way to remove bloatware permanently and other unwanted apps. Just ordered the phone and it is on its way so I don't have it yet but I have read some articles on bloatware being disabled but not really removed.
Yes i realize this is a verizon sub forum.
cheers
The best you could to is disable the unwanted apps. It's (I believe) equivalent to freezing apps on Titanium Backup, so it's fairly effective. To remove them, however, you are going to have to root your phone because you would need access to the system partition.
Thanks makes sense.
Go check out this thread. Post number 8 has a link to a tool that can safely disable apps without the need for root. My phone is flying now after i disabled over 100 apps.

great thanks

Is there a list that shows all of the system apps I can safely uninstall?

I just rooted my Moto g6 play and would like to remove the extra stuff (bloatware).
Is there any references on which apps would be safe to uninstall? Thanks
Motorola phones don't have much bloat. You can remove Facebook and that type of crap. The rest is needed by the system
The only real bloatware these things come with are the Moto branded apps and TBQH you can safely remove 90% of it and it'll work fine. Just make sure you keep the stuff with "ccc" in the package name since that deals with OTA stuff.
Truth be told though I've only pseudo-removed these things via ADB and not actually deleted them from the system so PLEASE EXERCISE CAUTION as always when messing about with stuff in the system partition.
Apart from Moto guff, LinkedIn, Outlook and a handful of Google apps you may not want are the only things that come pre-installed here.
