[edit] Don't worry I fixed it, I had auto correct turned off for some reason [/edit]
When I used to enter "i", Swype would automatically capitalize it for me to "I".
Now, it leaves it as "i" and I need to manually select "I" from the predictive list (even though it is highlighted blue).
It still auto capitalizes proper nouns like "Australia", "Paul" etc.
I still have "Auto Capitalization" ticked in the Swype settings.
Does anyone else have this problem, or know how to fix it?
thanks,
Rich
I've always just pressed on 'i' and swyped up beyond the keyboard, and that works.

hey guys, is it just me or is it normal that when you're typing an sms and select the suggested word in t9, it does NOT add a space, perform spelling or suggest next word. I find it a bit annoying that after selecting the predicted text that I then have to hit the space button again.
I've checked "Add a space after word" and "enable auto correct"
Is anyone else having this problem?
Same thing as you.....
also no t9 with keyboard option...would be good if had.
...and the T9 does not allow a new word to contain a number and letter combo. for example "2moro"
i know i should not be butchering the english language but it sure is handy.
previous winmo devices have allowed me to add number letter combo's so this seems weird
Hello all,
for some reason my phone doesnt have a predictive text library of words.
for example
if i type teh instead of the, usually it will automaticall put in "the" but now when i do it it doesnt auto correct the word at all, nothing happens.
i checked my custom dictonary and if i add a word it will then correct it, but idont want to have to add every single word in that i may spell incorrectly..
so what im asking is this,
how do i get it to automatically populate words? i dont even know how to word the question, i just want my auto text to work again
im running "Enomther's TheOfficial Nexus1 - [ManupThemeOption] - v2.11.3"[/B]
i cant believe i'm the only person who is having this problem......
anyone have a suggestion on how to rebuilt my auto-correct dictionary?
its so frustrating i may just go back to pauls r23 rom :/
I'm not using an English keyboard yet the phone insists that I'm writing the English first-person pronoun and capitalizes any letter i that has a space before and after it.
Any way to turn this off?
I've turned it off but dont know how. When I typed I got a menu showing possible words and I got both "i" and "I". I simply chose "i" and now it's always "i".
Try enabling suggestions in Swype.
Word suggestions was a pain in the a** whild typing in another language than what Swype is configured for so I've turned it off. Is there a better solution?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
it is very annoying due to the fact then when I want to delete the whole sentence I can no longer just push the alt button and then delete. i used to do that a lot and its very helpful with texting. So does anyone have any ideas
I am also looking for a solution to this. My last phone (Nokia N900) you could just ctrl+backspace for whole words, or just ctrl+a (select all) then backspace but i can't seem to work out how to do this on the DROID3.
As far as I can this is a bug, and the only workaround is to choose Swype as your input method. The Droid2 has the same issue. It's an artifact of the auto-word-completion feature which is still enabled when the physical keyboard is in use.
I've tried changing the Multi-Touch keyboard settings (including the "device keyboard" section) to no avail.
Hooray changing to swype is genius ahaha works fine for me and i like swype anyways whenever I'm too lazy to slide out the keyboard.
I like to have word prediction on, so that I can see word suggestions and choose a word if I want to. But it seems to force autocorrect too (when I write a word that it doesn't recognize it puts in the highlightet word in the prediction window when I press space, instead of the word I have written. And I don't want it to autocorrect anything.
Is it possible to keep the word prediction, but without the forced autocorrection?
i don't have the phone right now but you can take a look in the settings>keyboard & languages
Thanks, but I can't seem to figure out what to change. I go to the HTC Sense Input > Advanced where I can turn predictions on and off, but I can't change the autocorrection there. I think..
