So I feel stupid, but maybe I am doing something wrong and someone can punch me for it, but I decided to try to run the cheesecake program from the bionic on my phone, which apparently killed my updates all together due to the fact that it now says about the Moto Service Account need. So I decided to try to use my nonsafe back up to see if I could restore to an earlier date, and it won't let me. It says error restoring systemorig. Has anyone ran into this?

I am trying to figure out if I am just doing something wrong or what. I have never really paid for an app, but with the issues lately with viruses, I decided that I was going to start replacing the apps I have with the 'official' versions. But a couple of them are for work and I need to add them to my AT&T bill. I am running cognition4.3 and my market does not have the option for billing to AT&T. Is it because I am running a custom rom? What can I do to fix this issue? One of the apps is 30.00 and I really don't want to have to pay that out of pocket.

First thing to do is make sure you are using your correct Android_ID
There is a fantastic app for that found on the market called Android ID changer, of course you need to know your original android ID first, which the only way you would get that would be to flash back to original then get your ID, save it, and reflash your custom rom of choice.
This is just what I have done in the past to correct that problem, there may be another way.
the correct id?
Hmm, well I really did not want to have to flash back to stock for that kind of information, does anyone else know where i can find it?
I guess I can do a back up and then flash back to stock and then restore my back up.

Each device has its own ID so you will need to get yours from your stock build.
I am at work now, my boss had a USB cable for me so I did a Clockwork back up flashed with odin, got the id from the market app, and now restoring from back up. I guess I will know shortly if it will work or not.
Edit: reinstalled rom then i will restore from back up.
ok, well that did not work any other ideas?
Ok, so I can't post in the development area yet due to lack of posts, so hopefulyl someone will see this and let people know.
I was at 5.6.893-mr1 level and couldn't/didn't get the 5.7.893 update through cheesecake, so I wanted to get there and every guide I could find ended up with me getting the dreaded "Error: /tmp/sideload/package.zip status 7" error message. I just figured out how to "fix it" and get what I wanted....it will take some time....
First, go to
http://androidforums.com/bionic-all-things-root/434407-how-flash-893-update-maintain-root.html
Do everything the first post says. When choosing, use the CWR flash to 5.5.893.
This will get you to 5.6.893-mr1.
Then, hop over to
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1327537
and in the first post, go to the section "no longer needed steps" and the file:
3.)Download 5.7.893 and install 5.7.893 via stock recovery Blur_Version.5.6.893-5.7.893.XT875.Verizon.en.US
md5:e594bfcf52ae297ffb9a77b3cbb20882
Install this via stock recovery and reboot. Now, you should have a phone that is 5.7.893, but you'll notice webtop is still screwed.
So, now you can head over to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1327537 (same thread as before) and follow all the directions in the OP.
FINALLY! You should be at 5.7.893 with a usable webtop and you can apply the hacked webtop to get it without the dock.
I hope this helps someone. I spent the better part of my work day to get this figured out. Hopefully a dev can see what I've done here and make it easier. I think the magic sauce was the CWR flash to 5.5.893 with subsequent stock recovery updates to get the radio and kernel updated such that the "one big update" file worked as intended.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!! I tried what you did last night because of the same issues you were having and have been trying ever since to fix it. Every update I tried gave me that error message. THIS WORKED PERFECTLY for me. Thank you so much!
I just noticed that the webtop is still showing as unavailable. Should it still show like that? I don't use it anyway but just want to make sure it works in case I do. Thanks again.

The small updates to get to 5.7.893 radio/kernel breaks weptop. You now have to restore your system back to 886 which will fix webtop and then use the full 5.7.893 update which will get your system back and will update webtop, bootloader, recovery, ect...
Edit: also after restoring to 886 system using dhackers v2.1 you need to make sure you forever root again which option 1 should do both.

I have the same issue!
I will try it this evening when i get to the house.

**Update**
I can confirm, this worked great. It seems as though you lose Forever Root somewhere after applying the mr1 patch.
I used dhacker's tools to get forever root back after mr1 patch, then used it a third time to go back to 886. and apply the full .886.XT875 to get webtop back.
Thanks for the assist....

Ok, so i've spent a few hours at this already but let me give as much info as I can. I have read through many threads searching for info. I am no expert but I have had OG Droid, Incredible, and currently Thunderbolt all rooted so I am a novice.
This is my GFs phone and was previously bone stock, never rooted, no Roms nothing. So she gets the update recently and clicks yes and that is where the trouble began, phone constantly reboots and will not go past the language/activation screen. It never once went past that first screen, and she tried the hard reset and the battery pull.
So this is where I took over. I retried the hard reset (power + vol down) and also the battery pull. I also tried to activate in numerous other languages, all cause a reboot.
As per
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1208713.html
I was finally able to get past the activation screen and make some progress. However after about a minute the phone always reboots, no matter what it is doing. I hard reset in the settings menu and that did nothing.
I next followed
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1326347
and got the phone rooted.
Installed
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1144951
and than installed CWR 4.0.0.4 ? (not sure the version whatever it comes with) Tested recovery and it it seems to stick even after rebooting several times, which the phone automatically does (maybe its a feature and not a flaw?) So I was unsure of what version of Android was even running because the phone will not allow me to go into about phone it always force closes *com.android.settings* but I figure what the heck and try my luck with a new Rom. I decided on
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1326542&page=11
So I did the usual. Rebooted into recovery, made a nandroid backup, wiped data, cache, davlik and even did /system for good measure. Than did the install and upon first boot all the same problems are there. It will not activate from the screen, it just reboots the phone eventually. I used the same method above to avoid the screen and now it will boot up and the phone is in fact running an AOSP Rom but it still reboots after about a minute. Oddly enough it also continues to refuse to let me open About Phone, in the settings menu. I also for good measure went into recovery and wiped everything again and also tried fixing permissions in recovery, all to no avail.
At this point I am thinking it is perhaps just a hardware issue, although the phone does not reboot itself in recovery. I would be willing to try a different Rom, however I don't think it would work. I am wondering if anyone has any other suggestions? Should I try this?

Other info:
What does work is wifi, so i can get on the internet briefly. I can connect to google and get apps from the market.
I am leaving this for a few hours or I may have to re-title the thread "How do you put the LG Revolution back together after throwing it against a wall?"
Currently I'm sad face that you rooted and installed cwm but I think the update bricked it personally. Hopefully S.Meezy will see this as he has stock recovery. I would say just get back to bone stock and get it replaced. If anyone else knows how to get it fixed, my best guesses would be mt or S.Meezy, though adb that might work. I hope it all gets figured out. Someone needs to post stock GB without data or anything for people to flash to if need be. That might fix your issue.
My suggestion is to get the recover the whole phone...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1211295
follow that but use the v6 TOT file. That will revert the phone to out of factory new, with updated radios. If you still have the issue then I would contact Verizon.
If everything works then you can re-run the update to Gingerbread.
Could be a long shot but I remember seeing something a little way back in another forum where a user w the same problem accidentially resolved his issue by restarting w the sd card out. For him it turned out to be a bad or incompatible sd card at the root of the problem.
If you have one in, pull it and restart. Hope thats it for you...

Well i'm a glutton for punishment so i'm back.
I didn't want to bother with rooting it honestly but I did it out of desperation, figured a total wipe + brand new Rom would surely fix things.
Going to attempt the full recovery.
Tried pulling the SD card, than just the Sim card and finally without anything and none of the combinations worked.
Have you tried downloading a stock ROM to your PC/Mac and dropping that on your SD card and then flashing that ROM, after checking the md5? To me it sounds like your gf just had a bad download.
I think the issue is that you keep trying to flash the bad bits. Just my two cents...

Honestly you really need to try reflashing the entire phone with one of the TOT files. At this point to me it is clearly not the ROM that is installed. Restoring the phone with one of the TOT files will cleanly overwrite everything on the phone. Takes about 20 minutes or so after you have the program installed and recognizing the phone. Do it and post back.

What he said.
Remember: Absolutely do not, under any circumstance, unplug/turn off your phone once you start that process. It can take awhile, and might look like it froze, but just let it do it's thang.
Guys, agreeing my stupidity, I uninstalled the mentioned app, "Android System" while being a root user, the problem was I accidentally installed it over the same version, was backing it up from an app while I was backing up my Rom via Titanium Backup, know no one wants to hear this, but now, please I need it as a flash able zip because Odin is not helping its not detecting the cell even I have visited a local shop for software assistance. I'm doomed. I just want to wake it up, I loved it. I can use it as a 3G Hotspot for now, but please let me know if someone can help.
Hoping someone has a minute to inform me of how to repair my bionc from vzw. I had safestrap 3.73 on and upgraded to safestrap 3.75 with rooted stock moto image from way back when. I saw a lineage 14.1 image install and thought what the heck. couldnt hurt. so I did a nandroid backup with compression to the external sdcard of all partions(securedata, system, data, webroot). did another backup to the internal partion. had the prefrered storage device as intenrnal memory. I then wiped system-data-cache-dalvik and left webtop and secure partion alone. I tried unlocking the bootloader from moto bye getting my device info in fastboot but fastboot did not understand the "oem" command. I remember I was able to boot multiple boots but it had to share the same kerenl so I firgured what the the heck. I could always safestrap back and restore if lineage os failed. my mistake. I assumed. I then found there was a file called moto-fastboot but not sure if it was any different than google's fastboot. before I get things anymore screwed up I thought I would kindly ask for someone to throw me a lifepreserver because I wanna get me and the brick outta the water.
anyhow now it tries to boot, reboots and gets a dead android bmp screen. I can get into fastboot still
any help greatly appreciated. I have not used rsdlite in a while nor can I find the cdma_targa_9.8.2O-72_VZW-22_1ff.xml.zip file to manually doit through fastboot. (my own diagnoses but hey I'm an advnace noob with super cape and no superpowers)
yes my weaknesses are no-fear and stupidity based on not reading, reading and then reading a little more.

Howdy! Sorry it's taken three months for your question to get any attention. Bionic forum's pretty dead, eh? I'm amazed it's still an officially supported Lineage device. Go team!
Sadly, the no one ever found a bootloader unlock, as a fellow informed me here two years ago. Unless some clever hacker happens upon a Bionic and decides to crack it for kicks, it's not likely to happen. But at least we have SafeStrap and Lineage!
You may know this already, but you didn't mention it in your post, so I'll go ahead and say: when installing a ROM like Lineage on the Bionic with SafeStrap, you need to install it on ROM Slot 1, not the Stock ROM Slot. I imagine that might be why you bricked your phone (I've done it myself a few times too ).
Now that I've given you the skinny on the Bionic's limitations, let's see if we can't get you back afloat. Whenever I bricked mine, I never used RDS Lite—I found a utility called House of Moto. You can find the home page here, but you'll need to create an account to see the important stuff and the downloads (you'll also need to install Java). But if you're more familiar with RDS Lite, feel free to use that instead
System images for the Bionic are hard to find nowadays. I seem to have found one link to an article with a direct download link to an update file at the bottom, which I'll link to here. Whether the update file is the same as an FXZ file RDS Lite/House of Moto requires, I'm not sure. Give it a try and see how it goes! If not, I may have a copy of the file on my old computer at my parents' house. If the linked update file doesn't work, I'll see if I can't get ahold of my image file.
Finally, if you do happen to get things up and running happily, I've got a list of optimizations that help Lineage run more smoothly.
Best of luck! :good:
