i downloaded ddjv9 frm sammobile only , n it contains two filles one firmware with .tar extension n one more file with .dll extension ,
is the other one bootloader???? n do i have to select bootloder update in odin??

yes ... in odin have: bootloader + pda + phone + csc
for my phone for example I have:
APBOOT_I9000XWJVZ_CL762604_REV03_user_low_ship.tar.md5
to put in bootloader case

flash another rom with odin

you solved the problem with your phone?... how?...

Get a rom from ramads thread in general. If it has sbl in name it has bootloader built in

[Q] odin successful but stuck on boot

hi XDA members ..
am kinda new on this stuff "noob".
i bought my sgs (GT I9000) from KSA with (and am not sure) I9000JPJG8 frimware.
the whole story is that i tried to upgrade to froyo but the process didn't when well and odin was stuck. so i ignorantly pulled the usb out, and had that phone->attention-> pc sign. but i was able to get to download mode. later i noticed that i used a I9000M froyo firmware.
anyway, i read through threads about semi-bricked sgs and found that i must reflash again my stock firmware, and that's what i did.
the odin flash is successful and the phone shows the galaxy s startup screen and then that loading sign and the loop starts ( loading sign appears - disappears -appear again ..etc) i pulled out the battery and powered it on to have a Galaxy s startup screen loop also.
i can't get to recovery mode, and here the names of the firmware i used to flash:
I9000JPJG8
I9000JPJPG
I9000JVJPF
I9000UGJH2
i need the firmware to have arabic support so that's why those above where my choices, but i wouldn't mind losing arabic for z sake of my new sgs
sorry if my english is bad
suggestions???!! and thanx in advance
have you been flashing these firmwares with PIT file ??
i think thats whats needed,
try to flash stock eclair 2.2 or froyo 2.2.1 with all 3 files and 512 pit.
i tried all .pit files to no avail...
and what do u mean by eclair 2.2 , isn't it 2.1 ??! and do u mean pit512 , 513 , 803 by the 3 files or what?
thx for replying
edit:
do u recommend certain odin version because i don't know which to use exactly ?
yea sorry i mean eclair 2.1
whenever i have trouble like you, i flash JM1 in all 3 files (phone pda csc ) and 512 pit, with the repartition box in odin checked.
works a treat everytime
i tried it but it stopped in z middle and odin said (FAIL)
have you made sure KIES is closed, even in the icon tray ??
Are you using odin 1.7 ??
also try to connect your phone direct to the motherboard
if it still fails, post me a screenshot of what odin looks like before you press start
oh my .. kies was closed in icon tray but there were some kies related stuff running when i opened the tasked manager. but unfortnately nothing happened , same things are still there.
here z pic , doing the method u mentioned before
h*tp://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/696/odink.png/
right the problem is you are using a firmware compressed into 1 .tar file
remove the pit file - uncheck re partition
remove phone
remove CSC
all you want is OJP_JG9.tar loaded into PDA.
A MAJOR UPDATE ..
while waiting for replies i tried this method in this post using eugene froyo :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10498057&postcount=14
suprisingly my phone now changed to vibrant on start-up and has z following :
froyo 2.2
baseband T959UVJK2
kernel 2.6.32.9
now that it is alive .. can i shift to z froyo 2.2 with arabic support or do u suggest that i stick to it ?
i think i'll change since everything is messed up ..
vol. buttons are reversed .. music is not played through speaker unless head-phones are used .. numerous apps crashing ..
man am soo confused
you have flashed samsung vibrant on your samsung galaxy
that is why you have these problems !
did you download a GALAXY I9000 ROM ?? if not do so now.
Flash it in odin.
If it comes in 3 files (PDA, Phone, CSC) add 512 PIT and select re-partition
If it comes in 1 .tar file. Load it into PDA and DO NOT USE PIT OR REPARTITION
hit start and done, its so simple.
you really ought to read instructions before you go flashing ROMs.
i really did but it looks like i didn't pay attention to GT I9000/M thing ..
ok thanx for z help and i'll reply back when done with z ROM
i hate to be demanding but can u give me links cause am sick of downloading wrong files ((
www.samfirmware.com
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=846913
so now my phone powers off when connected with usb ... what shall i do ????
can you boot into recovery ? if so do a full factory reset and try again. and try to flash a rom in recovery (if you have 2e)
i have no idea why the phone powers off with usb.
does it do this in download mode too ??
did you flash a stock rom ?? if so what rom did you choose
i flashed eugene froyo
should i use I9000 method or vibrant method for recovery ??
i got into recovery when i flshed the vibrant rom back then .. :s
edit: a question , have i lost z root thing when i flashed the vibrant or not ?
first of all enter download mode . Try this method ( press home and volume down and insert the usb conected at pc ) , and flash darky resurection 9.2 or ezrom 2.2.1 , i think both have bootloaders , I prefer ezrom ( saved my phone after CM7 or miui )

rooting s6500 100% working

WARNING: FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK.THIS METHOD VOIDS WARRANTY!
1st method
this is a boot.img modified by cdesai and FULL CREDIT goes to him!
if you want to thank someone, its him!i just share his work
to flash :
1 plug in a fully charged s6500D in download mode
2 start up odin
3 rename the cdboot.img to boot.img
4 put the boot.img in a full rom and flash it
link to boot.img
give your feedback here plz
2nd method!noob friendly
full credit goes to mb-14
if you want to thank someone, its him!i just share his work moddified for us
tested by me and works FULLY
recovery is s7500 but who cares??
so...
first download files from here
cwm recovery
doomlord's kit
boot phone in download mode by pressing vol down+home key+power button
open odin3 1.85
click the PDA button on the midle right and then select clockworkmod-5.0.2.8.tar.md5 that you downloaded
click start.
w8 for it to say pass with green background
now the phone will boot normally
shut it down again and press vol up+down+home+power to go to recovery
it will show gt-s7500 but it doesnt matter!
Now close Odin
when it gives you a menu go to your pc to the rootme.zip that you downloaded
extract everything in desktop
run the runme.bat (my first time failed so repeat)
w8 for it to finish
press the home button (it should be on the first choise of the menu "reboot system" )
you are done!
ENJOY ROOTED S6500 AND s6500D
3rd method-similar to 2nd by bahek332 ,not tested by me
1. open folder "odin", attach phone to pc, enable usb debugging, make screen timeot 10 minutes(that's just to prevent screen switching off, when you run exploit), go to bootloader(volume down+home+power on), turn off all antiviruses! click PDA, select root.tar, click START.
2. phone reboots with firmware from another phone, open "DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT_zergRush_busybox_su", run runme.bat, phone reboots.
3. take off battery, go to bootloader again(volume down+home+power on), run ODIN, click PDA, select S6500DXXLC4, click START. you can flash your region firmware of course. download at sammobile.com
4. well done

stock XXLC4 with root
i dont understand. Does it root my SGM2?
Could you detail how must we do?
If we work with odin, what are files we put into Phone, PDA and CSC
The ustrugg
I think You must have a onefile firmware package (tar.md5),
then untar it, replace boot.img and tar again.
Probably you must remove md5 and leave only tar extension
because odin give you error with bad md5 checksum
In odin select "onefile" package (PDA)
how to extract one package (in linux)
extract one package:
tar xfv firmware.tar.md5
pack image:
tar -H ustar -c system.img.ext4 boot.img recovery.img fat.bin cache.img.ext4 hidden.img.ext4 > firmware.tar
add md5 sum:
md5sum –t firmware.tar >> firmware.tar
rename firmware.tar to firmware.tar.md5
mv firmware.tar firmware.tar.md5
my advice when flashing use a laptop with battery at 100% turn off everything antivirus ..... phone battery @ 100%
make sure you turn off power saving features off on laptop
before flashing modified boot.img flash unchanged image to check if everything is ok
anyone has try it..plese report it..
too worried for beginners even they ever do odin in other gadget..
thanks for sharing,,nice...

Have a go.
I don't have Mini 2.
I have not tested this boot.img by cdesai.
I've made it into an odin flashable package.
Select it in PDA.
select ur .pit
flash. (in download mode obviously)
Then download Superuser app from Play Store.
For S6500D

Restore Galaxy S I9000 as stock.

Hello everyone, yesterday i got my new galaxy S i9000 and i did install latest CM9.
I was wondering, how do i get back the STOCK firmware with its original kernel(obiviously locked bootloader) and without root? Thanks to everyone who will help me!
Hi there,
you just have to install the galaxy S divers on your computer and use odin to reinstall the stock ROM. Go on samfirmware to choose the Stock ROM you prefer...
I can't find the official thread here on XDA, but you should be alright with samfirmware (look it up on google).
(tick repartition!!!)

When you are flashing a 3-file ROM (with PIT, yes, 512), TICK Re-Partition, when you are flashing a 1-file ROM (e.g. from samfirmware) do NOT tick Re-Partition

3-files (PDA, Phone, CSC) & re-partition (w/ 512.pit) is mandatory when coming from CM7/9/10, since those are using different flash layout (MTD vs. BML). So just grab some stock rom (JW4 for example) and flash it.
Only tick re-partition (leave other settings as they were) (SGS bootloaders aint locked so no need to worry about those..)
You should be fine with these instructions..I have flashed my phone several times like this (back from CM9 etc..)
Edit: btw, this topic should be in Q&A..
Why is everyone is replying ?Wrong section ..This is not a Q/A Section ..Please don't reply
Before i also mention that you posted in the wrong section:
You need to flash a PIT file and not only tick repartition, how should the partition layout gets changed if you don't choose one to change to??
Now that you know it:
WRONG SECTION!

ya can be fixed bro :laugh::laugh:
you first root and install root explorer then copy "tee" folder to your sdcard
now download firmware of other region and flash it any jellybean
then root again and replace the "tee" folder with the one you saved before
if you want to downgrade to gb download files and just flash pda file and after success boot and then flash hongkong region firmware
