My battery died overnight one day and (long story short) now all I'm able to get into is hBoot. I wasn't trying to flash a new ROM or update to ICS, nothing. Every time I try and boot up, it gets stuck on the boot logo. Every time I try and get into recovery, I see a glimpse of the recovery and then it reboots and again gets stuck on the boot logo.
I've tried factory resetting... nothing. I've tried pushing boot and recovery files thru adb... nothing. Just stuck on hBoot.

HBOOT
The phone is a Rogers Raider (Canada) and has the bootloader unlocked and is rooted (for some time now). I have no clue where to go from here and have exhausted all my resources searching thru XDA for answers. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for reading,
Ok, don't panic, you can still get into HBOOT so as far as I know, its fixable. Have you read the superguide? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416836
[SUPERGUIDE] ICS-Root-Flash-Stock
Sent from my HTC Velocity 4G using xda premium from my HTC Velocity 4G using xda premium
I have... gone thru it many times, downloaded Wild Childs root pack and numerous PH39IMG's to see if I can try push the boot.img or recovery.img from them. Tried updating the HBoot but again, when it reboots, it gets stuck on the HTC Logo. I don't want to try to S-off in case I end up sending it in to HTC but at this point I'll try anything. Also found the original Rogers RUU to try and extract the boot.img from there but not sure how to extract it from a .exe file.
What recovery are you using ???
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using Tapatalk 2
And that's the problem. I've been trying a bunch of PH39IMG files, but most (if not all) are to update the HBOOT in preparation for ICS builds. I've tried loading the file onto my SD card and extracting the files to push thru fastboot but neither worked. I was finally able to find an original Rogers RUU named:
RUU_Holiday_Rogers_WWE_1.65.631.1_Radio_1.11.1020.03_30.77.551061.02L_release_219561_signed.exe
but when I try run it while my phone is connected in fastboot, it won't complete the process. I've even tried to use a universal extractor to see if I could pull the recovery from the .exe file, but to no avail. I think I've exhausted my options...
You may want to try s-off, haven't done so myself, and not really sure if that would solve anything as you're having trouble flashing a recovery, but the procedure seems easy enough, and there are heaps of people who have s-off'd. Plenty of info on xda about it, and from vague memory I think that it gives you the option to flash a recovery after you've s-off'd. Not sure, do some reading into it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1576668 Hope it works out for ya
Sent from my HTC Velocity 4G using xda premium
I think I'll try sending it in to see what they say about it. Then when they give me some BS excuse and try and charge me an arm and a leg to fix it, I'll tell them where to shove it and then try to do the S-off procedure. Thanks though,
Lol, ok, fair enough. Hope it works out for you

I attempted to install CyanogenMod 4.2. I used the one click root method and then downloaded DRC83_base_defanged.zip and CyanogenMod 4.2.
I powered it on using home, did a full wipe and then did a flash from zip for DRC83 and then for CyanogenMod.
I restarted the phone, but it gets stuck at the HTC boot screen. If I boot it holding home, it gets to an exclamation mark screen. I can also get to the bootloader (skateboard screen).
From the bootloader I have tired loading DREAIMG RC29 and RC7, but both are giving me Model ID incorrect
Where to from here?
Update: Managed to get into fastboot, but every recovery.img I've tried to load gives me FAILED (remote: not allow).
I have followed my own guide a few times to root the SA Dream (partly why I wrote it ). I suspect it might be closer to a Rogers phone than the US or UK phones which means their rooting methods don't work.

Quick question for my awesome XDA'ers. I am upgrading to a HTC Evo tomorrow.....yeah ....yeah....finally. As a result I need to unroot my phone so that I can sell it on EBay. I tried once before to unroot by using the latest RUU and recieved a Bootloader Error 140. Further reading explained that this is due to my HBoot being 1.47. My question to you all is, I came accross this link for changing to S-Off in HBoot. If I do this, should I be able to install the latest RUU. Once installed, should I be able to change back to S-On and thus the phone is unrooted?? Any and All help is appreciated.
Side note - the people on the CDMA Hero XDA forums have been awesome people. I thank all of you and hopefully the Evo people are just as cool!!!
Thanks
***Thanks to you all - the unrooting worked like a charm - for anyone that wants to unroot, I believe this is the easiest process - less than 20 minutes
My process was as follows
** Go to http://unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/forever and download zip (place on SD card)
** Got to http://geekfor.me/hero/radios/radio-242010427/ and downgrade radio from .29 (place on SD card)
** Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Hero_CDMA&oldid=9386#2.1_Sense_Based_ROMs and find a 2.1 Rom to download (I chose NFX Sprint - first one)
From here all you do in flash, flash, flash. First flash the Rom and allow it to get up and running (no need to sign in). Once it has settled -remove battery and flash the downloaded radio (go to http://geekfor.me/faq/flash-radio/ if you have questions). Once completed, reboot phone and allow to settle in. Remove battery and in bootloader screen you should see that the battery has been downgraded to .27. Now you can flash the unrevoked forever (just like any ROM). Once flashing is complete, go back to bootloader screes and you will notice it says S-Off. Reboot phone and allow to settle in. From here all you need is a HTC/Sprint authorized RUU ( you can find one on the WIKI above) and follow the directions. Now things will appear to be going as normal and then you will recieve a 155 Error on your computer, never mind it, look at your phone and you will see that it is still downloading. Wait till everything has downloaded and all you see is RUU in Red. Remove battery and press power and allow to boot up. Your phone is now unrooted. You can tell my looking at the Kernel which is now a HTC kernal and you can try to do a HTC Update. IN NO WAY DO I TAKE ANY CREDIT FOR ANY OF THIS. I just know how to google my ass off and the people on XDA have been awesome in answering questions. This is my first time creating directions, so bare with me. I don't know much, so keep the questions basic. Like I said before, this was my process and it worked...now on to sell the phone on EBay. FYI, the Hero was awesome, but this damn EVO is crazy!!!
Happy Unrooting!!!

If you pull the battery, replace the battery, hold Vol- and PWR, does it take you to Bootloader, or to that "RUU" screen? If it takes you to bootloader, select Fastboot, plug in your phone, and run the RUU again. Looks like you have ICS Hboot, so make sure you're using an ICS RUU, and the correct one. You may want to redownload the RUU in case you got a bad download. If it doesn't boot to bootloader, try running the redownloaded RUU from that "RUU" Hboot screen
Thanks for the replies. When I try going into hardboot it has the black htc screen with the four triangles. When I try running the ruu it updates until 34% and gets stuck there

Previous poster mentioned you will have to RUU.
It really depends on on your knowledge of Fastboot. Its possible you could wipe and push a working ROM for the HTC One via fastboot (search on how to accomplish this if you dont know already).
If your not comfortable with that you will have to re-lock, push the RUU rom and then you have have to go through the unlocking process again.
Hope that helps and good luck!
You can go here as it seems someone else flashed this ROM as well and has already gone through the same issues you are having.

Okay well now my phone is saying there is no OS installed i am using TWRP and i know i need to flash a rom but the issue now is my pc wont recognize my device i have the latest HTC sync installed and still wont recognize the device.
Did you relock? I know it's frustrating but trust me you didn't brick your phone and you can get out of this. If you look in OMJ's thread with the RUU it will help you relock and push the RUU. It's saying you have no OS cause you flashed a Rom not configured for this phone. Your pc won't recognize the device for the same reason so once you relock the phone it should recognize the device just make sure you do a full wipe.

Went through this exact problem. You're past the point of even being able to push with adb because you're OS won't detect the wiped phone. Find the link to the latest RUU in this forum and dl it. Relock your phone and then run the RUU, will take about 15 minutes and your phone will be perfectly stock again. From there, reunlock and then choose one of the sprint variants. Personally I use ViperRom but there are plenty of good choices. Good luck.

boot into fastboot USB after downloading the RUU and placing it in the same folder as fastboot, and do:
Fastboot oem lock
Fastboot oem rebootRUU
Fastboot flash <RUUfileName> .zip,
You might get an error that says flush again immediately. If you do, no big deal, just press the up arrow on the keyboard (this inserts the previous command line again) and enter the command again. Wait for it to finish, and you should be good to go.
After that, re unlock and re flash a Rom, such as Viper Rom.

Hi guys i knew the ins and out of my galaxy S3, but need help with my htc one
I know this is a big ask but having a real bad time trying to get this sorted, but need to get back to stock for new digitizer replacement.
i am running ARHD 11 with unlocked bootloader S-off, latest firmware. and twrp on my UK HTC_001
Is there a full guide to get me back to stock, as i have trawled through the forum and have about 10 tabs with various information but its getting to confusing as to what to do first with out bricking my phone.
i tried to do my stock nandroid backup first but that gave me no touchscreen function, not sure if that's because i have updated to the latest firmware, so had to flash ARHD back to get touchscreen function agian.
i then relocked the bootloader and that wiped my phone so had no system to boot into just cwm recovery. Tried to sideload rom but that didn't work adb error closed.
then i fastboot flash twrp, and then usb otg flashed arhd 11 from usb stick, working agian.
this is doing my head in, been at this for 3 days and getting nowhere
in what order do i go about this to get to full stock without bricking
need to be S-on
locked bootloader
revone locked not relocked
stock uk HTC_001 unbranded rom
unroot.
Big thanks in advance guys if you can help.
You should be able to install a 401 RUU and then
./revone -l
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
thanks benpope, need a bit more of a guide dude,
not sure what RUU i need, my phone is uk unbranded htc_001
do i fastboot the RUU rom?
revone-l , is to turn relocked to locked i guess

http://bugsylawson.com/files/file/1...13323127-1031113105-release-310878-signedexe/
RUU (ROM Update Utility)
Connect your device to the PC
Open/run the RUU and follow on screen instructions.
Set up your phone once it reboots then check for software update and you should get the 1.29.401.12 update.
When you have installed the update you can use revone to set S-on and lock your bootloader.
./revone -l
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
This is what I did and it worked for me.

Man, that's dark.
Is this confirmed? Has anybody flashed this, then sent their phone for warranty repair?
My phone, as far as I could tell was hard bricked (AOSP), but HTC was able to pull up my bootloader to tell me they were gonna need $200 to replace my main board.
It has been confirmed as it was initially flashed accidentally by someone. However, I won't be sharing the link as I feel it isn't morally right to do it
