[Q] whats the best way to flash to froyo

hello can someone give me some advice what is the best way to flash to froyo
do you need to have a firmware already installed like jm8 for instance or can you
just wipe my phone and install from fresh .

Just flash JPY from samfirmware.com as a PDA without a PIT file selected.

can i do it even if my galaxy doesnt have a firmware already installed i was wanting
to do it from a fresh wipe then just install the jpy

i would suggest to flash Darky's Rom. it's easy and you don't need to use odin or heimdall. plus its a really fast Rom!

i was looking into doing that but an i flash without having a firmware already installed

Kies 2 is the easiest way........... If you want to flash to a custom 2.2 I suggest reading through these forums for a few good hours.

How does your phone work if you have no firmware .???
Suggest A Froyo update is normally via Kies . Why do you need to flash ??
Suggest B If you are flashing custom roms please please read all the posts regarding flashing and save breaking your phone .
Suggest C questions go in the Q& A section not development .

Seriously, if you want an official 2.2, try one thats correct for your country & region. General section has a sticky.
If you are adventerous & want to experiment, try one of the MODDED ROMs available. There is a sticky here in dev.
If you want a 2.2.1 without ant modifications, try to search for it here in dev with a title [MOD][CSC] or something or try my desi link in my signature. I will search & add links later.

[Q] Help installing Darkys ROM

Hi I'm trying to install Darkys ROM on my Galaxy S but just can't get it to work. I keep getting the verification error. I'm on firmware 2.2.1 and build FROYO.XXJPW
I would really appreciate any help as this has been bugging me for a few days now as to why I cannot get it to work.

As it was said, wrong section, and there is a thread about darky so.. pff.
Your issue seems to be recovery 3e, flash with odin a cf root or custom (speedmod, voodoo..) kernel. That's all.

People are helpful... provided that you ask in the right place.

Just flash a kernel with 2e android recovery using odin, and you'll be set. then just copy the zip to internal sd and flash it from clockworkmod recovery

Friendly helpful yes but extremely peed off with Darky users who cannot be bothered to ask him read the posts read the faqs ask for help on Darkys help channel .Majority of helps on these pages are from Darky users .One gets a bit fed up pointing out that the developer knows whats in his rom and how to fix it the forum is XDA not solve dargy rom problem forum .Many members will have no knowledge of Darkys rom thats why we say ask Darky .
If you cannot read simple instructions like Q&A in correct section as you have not bothered to look /read/understand then you are going to break your phone .

[Q] i messed up my galaxy tab HEEELP

I Recently buyed me an galaxy tab, and i rooted it with z4root and i removed stock home launcher from the rom, and now i decide to make a factory reset.
I rebooted the tab and then after boot i cant do anything ! I dont have any launcher! How do i fix this ?

Yes, wrong forum, but just to get you in the right direction:

Secondly: I recommend the Overcome kernel and rom for your tab, as it's very stable and pretty much just a great rom. You can find it here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=894763
In the second thread, go down to the section "IF your Tab does not boot after flashing the kernel and hangs at the Samsung Galaxy Tab screen, you must follow the following procedure" section of the original post and follow the direction exactly as stated.

Than you will have to find the stock rom that came with your device... and depending on the exact model that could vary.

I just flashed original stock i9000xxjvb rom in my galaxy s i9000. Now I have no idea to root it. Please help me to root it. I also want to know if there is any way to convert its ROF file system to EXT4. Thanks

Just search this forum and the Dev forum to find many, many threads about rooting JVB on the i9000 and applying a lagfix.

the way I used was using the CF-root kernel with ODIN

i have rooted my phone,
it was working perfectly fine,
but when i done factory reset then the problem started,
it is automatically restarting again and again
not able to switch off n switch on
then i downloaded rom (P6200XXKL7_P6200XEUKL1_XEU) from samdroid site
and tried to flash rom but tar file is not showing from odin pda,
please help me
can i unroot this device? and please give me suitable rom for this device
