I noticed the other day my apps are for sale for pounds instead of dollars. I did change my build.prop to HTC desire Europe so I'm sure that had something to do with this....flashed nightlies since so build.prop is back to tenderloin generic. Just wondering if anyone else has this problem and how to fix

Change the build.prop back to what it originally was, because the market goes to the build.prop for information on how to display information and apps to you, so if you changed it to a European HTC Desire then it will treat your Touchpad like one, so change it either to it's original state, or a American phone.

so long as it isnt the wifi only version, I would say go for it.
make sure it isnt model P1010.It has inferior hardware compared to the original
AT&T dumped a bunch of refurbs on their site on Friday for $199.99 with no contract. I think if you're in the US you'll see a bunch of them pop up on Ebay shortly. First reviews of the received models are they look like they're brand new.
I would also consider things like exchange and warranty. Maybe it's worth the extra coin to you to know that if you have any issues with it you can exchange it or get it serviced under warranty?
With Gingerbread out now i would say yes get one as long as it is the GSM version and not a wifi version.

Well I finally jumped on it. Its the cdma version from sprint. Why does that really matter, custom roms and such? I'm using wifi only. I love this thing.

Because with the gingerbread rom browsing the web is way faster. It's another level. Not frustrating anymore when there are many flash animations. There's no lag at all with flash videos even in 720p.

I jumped ahead and bought it for $250 + taxes. It is great but I'm contemplating whether to return it or not. It's the 3G at&t edition. My concern is that its not dual core and at&t and t-mob are just dumping these out to make the 10.1 model ready for release. I have no issues with its performance but its just that it's not dual core and I forsee lag in upcoming applications. Anyone has any thoughts on this?

I live in the USA, but my Atrix HD is the Bell Canada model. It seems lots of apps default to .ca for some things instead of .com, also kilometers instead of miles, celsius instead of fahrenheit. For instance, IMDB movie ratings like "14A", distance to nearest theater in KM, Amazon store defaults to amazon.ca.
Some apps let you manually set those things, but not everything. And I can't seem to find a global setting. Is there a way to tell the phone I'm a stupid American and I like my miles, water boils at 212 degrees, and movie ratings are G, PG, PG13, and R!?

If you attach a copy of your build.prop, I'll take a look and see what is different from the AT&T build.prop. It may be just making some simple changes to your build.prop to fix your issue?
Or you could open your build.prop in a text editor and look for the line itself if you're so inclined.
The line posted is as follows:
ro.product.locale.region=US
Yours probably has region=CA
makes the change to "US" and see if that helps?

Not having heard of this file, I did a quick google and found out where it is. Yes, that line does have CA. So it's safe to change that? Anything else I can change that in there that might be beneficial?

I had a look. That "should" solve your problem with the CA websites and such. There's a bunch more that reference the fact that it's a Bell CA phone, but I'd just wait to do more until we get a working CWM, then all you'll have to do is flash an ATT ROM.

OK, so noobe question: how do you make the file writable for editing?
How to flash ATT firmware on Bell Atrix HD without bricking?
Can someone please let me know how to flash ATT firmware on Bell Atrix HD without bricking the phone. Bell doesn't release any updates. My battery drains so fast even after turning-off all wireless hardware. I can't see battery consumption details. I'm stuck with BELL firmware while I live in the U.S.

Do you have root yet? If so, just change directory to r/w in root explorer. If you haven't rooted your device yet, you're SOL. You need root privileges to edit that file

Yes I'm rooted. I made the change, rebooted, and tried IMDB again, but it didn't change anything. I checked the build.prop again and my change did stick. So what now?

Not sure what to tell you. That's what I've changed in every tablet ROM I've ever wrote to get "US" settings in web, play store, etc.
You may have to wait a bit until we get a viable recovery for the phone to flash a US ROM to?!?
Hopefully someone else may have more insight into this.

Hi gabo_e30,
Sorry for late reply! No my AHD doesn't have unlocked BL. I have to unlock it now. Glad to know that you are using ATT software on Bell AHD. Thanks for the heads-up!
Hi everyone,
my Desire C shipped with T-Mobile (DE) branding. The interesting bit about this is that the build number is 1.46, which seems to be newer than everything I can find on the net. Does anyone have an idea what the changes might be or if the bump in the version number is just branding related?
Ant
Does it have capacitive buttons that light up? Is there NFC available? I would say it's the branding, but who knows if they fixed these issues.

Nope, buttons are still dark (still not sure if they actually have a backlight). Afaik I have a non-NFC version, so I can't say much about that.

I doubt there is much diff i think its just numbered differently so you know it's for a different network and not the generic one like mines 145.771.3

The info I found on another forum says that the number after the minor version shows branding (x.xx.111 = T-Mobile, x.xx.401 = unbranded). Would make more sense imo.
So tried pre ordering and taking advantage of the free htc media bridge from ATT and the black version is unavailable and no date given for when it can be expected. I haven't read anything about this anywhere. Any one have any info? Thanks.

Hi, I'm going to recieve the chromecast tomorrow and I was looking at the google cast app on the playstore and it says that it's not compatible with my device. Has any HTC One owner experienced this? I don't want to sideload it since I want to get notified of the updates...
Any ideas?
Thanks

I think it's country restricted, not a single reason for the device not to meet the requirements. Well I'm sure I'll find the way around it, I was just hoping for someone to come up with a idea

Yeah country restricted. I set mine up on the One 4.2.2 ARHD 12.
Fwiw you don't need the app for anything. Setup can be done through a web browser. It just makes it easier by automatically connecting to the hotspot and stuff

I'm running the stock rom on my One and it works just fine. It is definitely just a country restriction.
