Please help me, almost brick - LG Optimus 2x

I tried to install CM7 RC1 build 167, together with open2x's kernel v 1.0.1.
But when I rebooted into the system, it was fine until the 2nd LG logo appeared and nothing else. I tried to use smartflash but when I press and hold the volume down button, nothing happened.
Anyone help me?

Yeah thank you ^^
I've been on fire all day.
And do you know why can't I install either Su660_32MS_default or InternalSDaddon ? I've tried but always the answer is 'installation aborted'. All builds of temasek's CM7 seem to have bugs to me, esp when I try to play Fruit Ninja

havent try any of those...try wkparks kang, see link below...still the most stable CM7 i have install but make sure your coming from stock 2.3, see link below for stock 2.3

hey, I would suggest you to first end up in a nice stable and safe ROM whether its CM9 or you can go for GB.
PS: Fruit Ninja's blades won't cut through superbricks!

Wow , that's wierd . I flashed beta 8 with no problems .
Ummm ... assuming you've done ALL possible 3 button tricks , did you try going into airplane mode ?
You've probably already done this , but just making sure , did you try rebooting the phone ?
Just curious , what were your steps to flash MIUI ? And how do you normally go to download mode ?
actually i followed the exact same procedure in the miui forum and also I was in 2.2 based roms. download mode worked when I was flashing miui rom. But does not work anymore
BTW I go to download mode by holding the up and down vol button together and then plugging in the USB cable to the phone

You messed up. if you can't get into dl mode you will need a jig
MIUI
Real long shot here
If you have wifi, dl sgs kernel flasher from market. Actually dl a compatible cm7 kernel. Use kernel flasher to try to flash kernel. Probably won't work cause sounds like you can't see your sd. Also did you flash the efs backup as stated in the instructions?
MIUI
right now i have soft bricked the phone
I tried all the tricks...my last hope is JIG

That means you didn't follow instructions properly . Try using the kernel flasher . And flashing one of the "[KERNEL][CM7] ...." kernels . MIUI is based off of the nexus S , and CM7 uses a captivate version kernel from Nexus S .
If all else fails , DL jig .
For the new Rc1 do you have to flash Beta 7 then Rc1 or can you go straight to RC1
Help
I followed all the steps and flashed MiuiCapPre1 and got it to work. I rebooted the device and I am now stuck in a endless reboot. All I see is Galaxy S Cyanogen mod screen and occasionally a At&t screen. I also can't seem to enter Download Mode I get the screen that looks like its about to display the battery.
Any suggestions how on how to fix this?
if this is answered im sorry, but i cant figure out out to get my contacts from my sim to show up or import them

go to the app downloads and push the menu button and select download using mobile network.
So I flashed RC2 and it came up as I9000 device. I flashed TheEscapists 4.2 kernel and it changed to his kernel but kept the device as I9000? I have not had time to keep up with the thread like I normally do so is this an issue that is known or just a single occurrence?
Wow lol didn't even know we had one of these, if you have questions then you should read the FAQ section in the third post of the MIUI thread otherwise you might as well post your question on the thread rather than here as it will be answered a lot faster.

APEX Q&A

If you have more than 10 posts its a better idea to ask ur questions in ROM thread, else this thread is for you.
Safe Flashing from Gingerbread
Thank you for starting this thread
I am currently running Apex 6.3 and want to flash to a newer rom, Apex 7.
I have a Rogers phone I896 and so I no longer have my volume buttons working to put it in to recovery or download mode, I have read not to load any kinda fix for that(something about two boot loaders being a bad idea).
My understanding is that I have to go back to stock before flashing a new rom(I have seen you have roms that can be upgraded rather then re-flashed) but I want to wipe my internal sd card and flash like new.
Do I just use ODIN 1 click and go back to stock and use it to clean my sd card, is that a safe option or am I missing something?
If I remember correctly I had to do like 2 or 3 steps to flash Gingerbread from from stock rom, load boot loaders, load kernel, load rom. So I am wondering if it is 1 step to go back to stock ?
I know I have seen a post on a thread on this but to find it when needed is not so easy, XDA-Developers has grown big time since I started with WM5(Android is all new to me)
Hi I had a question concerning running new boot animations for APEX 7 with Update-1 package.
I found this boot animation http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1121014 that I would like to install but it seems as though it isn't working. Is it possible with this ROM to get new boot animations?
Thank You
So you can't put the phone into download mode?
Odin 1 click is pretty straight forward from what I remember. First I boot up the phone normally and hit "master clear". Second I put the phone into download mode and hit the "Start" button which goes and installs the stock firmware. Obviously you need to be in debug mode to do all this so make sure you're good with that.
I don't know if you already have it but here is a link for the Odin 1 click I use.

Will have to wait for boot animations to work buddy, as of now kernels dont support it
If you are already on ApeX 6.x you can flash 7 using CWM.. No need to ODIN back to JF6.
In worst case if u have to ODIN back that should be to stock GB.
But as i said just flash 7 on top of 6.3 by going into recovery mode

First off I want to say thank you for making an awesome ROM. Loving it thus far and has been running flawlessly except for one minor issue I ran into tonight. For the MIUI lockscreen the phone freezes then goes to the android boot animation screen and right back to the MIUI lock screen whenever I try to unlock with SMS unlock. Is this a known issue with the screen unlock concerning MIUI?

I have GR-12 on my cappy with the latest talon kernel and GB bootloader. my question is, if i want to install this do i need to flash back to stock 2.1 and do the entire process (reinstall talon and bootloader then install your rom)? OR can i just enter recovery mode with my phone currently using gr-12 and use CWM to install APEX 7 rom? either way i have to first install apex 7 then use cwm to install update 1 directly after correct?

Installed Apex_7 on my phone and i used a kernal swap to bypass the froyo file verification instead of going back to eclair first. after i got all working and installed Apex i rebooted my phone the at&t logo came up then the screen went all crazy and then kept replaying the galaxy s animation so then i used odin to go back to stock after odin said success i rebooted the phone and now im stuck at the at&t logo. cant get into download mode
AND i have made a usb jig but it does not work i tried 3 100k resistors and 3 100k and 1 1k and still nothing. Also if i take a ohm meter it will only read up to 2 resistors at a time once i add the 3rd one i get a split second reading then nothing but ive tested them all by there self and they read 0.10 and 2 reads 0.20 then 3 reads 0.30 for a split second then reads nothing.
Thanks anyhelp greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!

Watsaa, first off I have to say this is an awesome rom. I have tried other GB roms and this one just rocks. I am running Apex 7 update 1 and the only issue I had was everytime I returned to the launcher it seem to reload all the icons and widgets. Then i flashed Talon 2.2 and wow!! It runs much better and no more reloading of the launcher. Smooth as butter.

[Q] Help asap. Bootloop (Newbie)

Hi all,
Tried to flash ICS 4.0.3. Had flashed CM7 and it was working fine but the flash was purely so I could put ICS on, installed the zip through CWM but now it is bootlooping. I see the Galaxy S original bootscreen then what I am presuming is the custom ICS bootscreen then alot of CWM text with the android robot then the android robot dead with a phone through his chest
I have tried removing the battery a couple of times.
I am a bit of a newbie so any help is much appreciated
What shouls I do?
BTW I can get to download mode so flashing through odin is always a last resort but if ICS is redeemable then thats much preferred!
Josh, you didn't listen to my advice on your last post did you?????
I'm too drunk now, hopefully someone will be able to help you.
However if I were you, I'd pull the battery, get back into recovery, flash ics again and then it should boot fine. This has happened every time I have flashed ics and is well documented in the threads.
And next time read up some more before flashing.

When your phone is Boot looping like that, just press and hold Vol up + Home + power for about 10 seconds. The phone will then restart into Recovery. From there reflash the ICS build again.
Have been told on another forum that it is fine to go straight from any GB rom to ICS simply by flashing the kernel then the rom then again the kernel. So I could therefore go straight from 10.2 RE to ICS?
Is this true as it seems to contradict the guide in OneCosmic's post?
Whatever Rom I flash, I always follow that particular Dev's instructions. That way you avoid Boot Loops or Force Close errors!
How long should the initial boot of ICS take? Successfully flashed it (I think) but it seems to be on the fancy moving panel bootscreen thing for quite a long time. Is this normal?
Edit: Up and running, thanks to everyone who helped
Could not download from the market so I read around and noticed it was a common problem and that you neede to wipe data/factory reset now I am stuck in a bootloop and cannot get into recovery mode is there an exact way to press and release the buttons or is it a case of: take out battery, vol up home and power and just hold?

I see. The Overcome thread also has the CWM Recovery as a .zip file which is flashable through Stock Recovery (same procedure as flashing Root). You just put the file in your internal SDcard and flash away. If you still have doubts, read a little bit here, as I'm sure that will clear any doubts you might have.

Don't expect perfection from a port, ever (port = a ROM that's not native to the device). The motley kernel, along with UV can help you in the battery department.

My system right now is a stock ROM us retail P7310UEKHA flashed with CWM and CWM and I want to install a 3.2 stock ROM using ODIN.
The way I try to access the download menu is
1. Turn off the tab

4. when the reaching the menu between recovery and dowloading. Select dowloading with the down volume button and validate with the up volume button.
Result: a black screen for 3 seconds and then the tab reboots

So I have tried reflashing the stock US retail ROM and ran the EULA3 OTA update over it. I can't seem to figure this out.
The OTA update entered the download mode for a few seconds during the update so I am wondering if I don't simply have a locked bootloader.

Try again pressing Power button+VolumeUp+Home button and do not let go of them even when you see the Galaxy Note screen, keep holding and hopefully you'll end up in recovery

I too flashed the latest ICS Stunner and then got stuck at the bootscreen.
Dumb as it may sound, the following solution worked for me -
If you are stuck at the bootscreen and unable to enter the recovery/download mode, it is not the wrong keys you are pressing, but the wrong order in which you are pressing them.
When stuck, start by pressing the Home Key first followed by Volume Up/Down and then the Power Key.
Try twice or thrice again if it doesn't work. I realized that somehow timing is important here.
According to the latest release of Stunner, you don't need to flash the repack. But there have been some reports of users not getting a full root. Obviously they must be doing something wrong since the devs have surely tested it thoroughly.
Still, to ensure 100% success, you can start by rebooting into download mode, flash ICS LP1 repack, flash the Stunner ROM and then preferably the just released LP6 by Chainfire too. This has worked for me and several others.
Hope it helps. Don't forget to thank all the devs who built these!

I recommend you double trying as toxicthunder instructed.
