Hey there, I tried installing the Ics update today and had problems with it. I downloaded it w/o problems from the settings menu on the phone and after it finished downloading it I wanted to directly install it. The phone shut down, restarted, showing the green sign with the bar underneath showing the progress. After not even a third, the sign changed to the one with the red sign and the bar disappeared. I tried it several times and it always went down the same. I have a rooted sxl with no custom Rom flashed and no other modifications... Does anyone know what might be the problem and how to solve it????

Have you unroot it and relocked the bootloader?
I am also having a problem too. When Installing the OTA update, the phone powers off and reboots into screen with HBOT, FastBOOT, RECOVERY etc option and just sits there.
I have relocked the bootloader. Used android app(Voodoo OTA RootKeeper) to temporary unroot and then tried to install the update for Android 4.0. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It must not reboot into HBOOT when you make official update. Have you flashed also a stock GB rom?
Thanks for your reply. I had my phone bootloader unlocked and rooted but was still using the original rom that came with the phone. I did not install any other ROM.
I have managed to install ota update for ICS. I just had to find a stock rom and installed it and then downloaded ics updates. It works fine.

so i just use wugs to install this zip right?

Full rom or just an update?

THis isn't the stock rom, it's just the same Mod Edit update that fails every time I try to install it. What's the point of reposting it?

You're the same case as I am. If you don't want to loose data, just flash OTA update from recovery.

For me it was Xposed framework, once I uninstalled it worked ok. You must have changed something in system.... I had this problem on 4.3 update and had to flash full ROM (backup data etc)....
Ah, I see. I do have an audio mod on there I flashed a while back - that must be it then. I didn't think it mattered what is on there now since it's going to replace it all anyway. But It makes sense that it'll probably check the system to verify it's the correct device before updating. I'll try going back to full stock ROM tonight. Or I'll just sideload it or something.
same issue
I am having the same issue, I have now gone back to a stock rom and stock recovery it is still unlocked so I am not sure at this point how to get the ota to install.
Or unzip stock 4.3 image and flash only system.img without loosing usr data, apps etc.

the sideload is that from the nexus tool kit? Or is there something I am missing.

Make sure that if you were Stock rooted, you are back to 100% stock, the update checks for key components.

how update my stock JWR66Y Rom (as secondary rom in multirom v18) to new 4.4 ota
im using MultiROM v18 and stock 4.3 rooted as secondary rom , so i want to install this latest 185mb kitkat OTA update :
http://android.clients.google.com/pa...Y.13088e35.zip
just flash OTA update from recovery. but Fails everytime I try to flash it in recovery. Not sure what's wrong. Even tried unrooting the stock rom
So please tell me: how update my stock JWR66Y Rom (as secondary rom in multirom v18) to new 4.4 ota update?
can i sideload it via ADB.?
I'm running a UK unbranded phone that is stock. I installed the 4.3 update via PC Companion this morning, All went smoothly until I came to use the phone. It would work for about a minute but it would freeze as soon as it went to the lock screen (swipe). I've also done an update via OTA and also Flashtool and all do the same.
If I go back to 4.1 using flashtool all functionality returns.
Not sure what i'm doing wrong or how to fix it

you can download the new update at http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-desire-510-boost/news/ ..... there are manually Installation instructions. i have not did this yet but if you do it right , you should be good to go. food for thought, you may have to flash stock back up to make this update happen and then re-flash back to your posion of choice ..... and yes the update would stick

yes you have to have a pc . Download the program and just follow the guide. Should be very simple . But you do need stock to get this update. After you are done flash back or just restore back-up

I checked the link and it is the old update from 12.17.2014 or 1.47.652.1. I couldn't find the newest update or anything from 2015 at all on the HTC site anywhere. I received the update today, 1.48.652.2 (30.68MB), but after it downloaded, restarted and tried to install, it gave me a red triangle with an exclamation point in the middle. Has anyone else seen this? (My bootloader is locked and I fully wiped my phone and sdcard before installing the Boost stock RUU so nothing should be interfering) I contacted HTC and they walked me through some steps to fix it, but eventually they told me to contact Boost. I didn't contact them yet, but Boost Zone says the system updates on my phone are up to date.
Please Help(boost)
When i try to install the update it takes me to recovery and when i try to flash the update
I get an error...and i flashed stock rom but when i use ruu installer i get security fail update fail.
Can someone help.

My phone fails when I try to install the update, also. Is your bootloader locked? If it is unlocked, the RUU update will fail.

I wouldn't bother. I contacted HTC and Boost Mobile and they both said there is nothing they can do about it. I think some of us have to wait until 1.48.652.2 is actually on HTCs site and good to go to download. For now all I see is 1.47.652.1. I wonder why some people can download it perfectly and others can't. I even tried to manually install it through the stock recovery. It downloads to the Download folder and I thought it had to be on the root of the sdcard. I moved it to the root of my internal sdcard and tried to install and it failed. I used the "OTA_A11_CHL_K44_DESIRE_SENSE60_Sprint_WWE_VM_1.48.652.2-1.47.652.1_R_release_420824qapx9dhr8n40gasg.zip" name and even renamed it to update.zip like other HTC phones use. I extracted the recovery.img and tried to flash, thinking it would help for some reason, with no success. I tried all I can do with my knowledge on this subject. Either one of the geniuses on this site can help or we'll have to wait.
Red Triangle 10% into 1.48.652.2 on Boost. On stock locked 1.47.652.1.. Is this the Lolipop update? cause if it isn't i don't care about it. :silly:
Tried installing on fresh RUU on Boost mobile. Update fails everytime. I looked into the update zip. For 30 mbs its got a lot of stuff in it. It updates most of the system apps as well as gapps. also theres some new certs getting installed. Maybe its a prep update.

No it's not Lollipop, just security enhancements and bug fixes. I contacted HTC and Boost and there is nothing they can do at the moment about our problems with updating. I think we just have to wait until Lollipop comes out and they release an official RUU.

Hey guys,
I am trying to intall a custom rom on my blu vivo xl. My worries are that i either soft-brick the phone or boot the new rom and having no signal due to no imei, or no 4G due to band change if it's even possible. I'll leave you with some reliable data:

Unfortunately most custom ROMs in this forum were based off Gionee so likely you will get no SIM. Use your stock ROM /etc/firmware folder to replace that in ROM.

I've already got twrp installed for 5.1
So i should just install this MM based ROM i said on the post and replace /etc/firmware folder?
Or i need to install stock MM from ota first?
Thing is, i cant OTA update, it says that the system is corrupted, i even tried from twrp but no luck
I've seen that i need stock mm to be able to install most of the custom rom's in xda
Thing is i can't install any OTA update. Should i flash 5.1 stock rom on top of the modified one i'm running?
By modified i am talking about the root and xposed, which is the cause i cant OTA

Follow my steps exactly then you can do OTA to MM.
The key is to use the 8 files backup to restore stock 5.1, not the backup only includes 4 files.

In my case I have a fully working STOCK but ROOTED Marshmallow Blu Vivo XL with working IMEI, but as soon as I wipe and install say AEX rom, I lose both IMEI functions and also get the dreaded wifi NVRAM error (but working wifi).
I also restored the etc/firmware directory to AEX but it wont help regain IMEI functionality.
MTK Engineering mode does not work on AEX because it complains not being stock rom so it closes.
For the life of me, I can't make a connection to the PC through SP Flash Tool too.
Any pointers?
TIA!

Yes, I know how to recover IMEI on the stock ROM and I'm currently running stock MM rooted with working IMEI.
The problem I have is that I can't run custom ROMs even if I try the etc/firmware trick you mentioned.
What is the stock TWRP partition that has the modem and IMEI? Maybe if I flash it back through TWRP once I get AEX rom up and running?
Thanks!
