[Q] From ICS to GB - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Have questions abt downgrading to GB from ICS.Currently i'm running the N7000ZSLPF stock rom.I installed it via PC odin as dr'kitan's method. There i had to check all 3 option Re-Partition,Auto Reboot n F.Reset Time.As the N7000ZSLPF rom has the bootloader too.But now i want to get back to GB N7000XXKL3 Rom.So my question is now in here do i have to select the Re-Portion again or i should just select the Auto Reboot n the F.Reset time? N from where i can get the mobile odin?

Anyone can give me answer plz?

Back to the GB wagon
You can get Mobile ODIN here
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.mobileodin.pro&hl=en
And if you want to flash from PC ODIN you can just select Auto-Reboot and f-reset time.

[Q] Flash RevolutionRom on SGS I9000

Hi guys,
I'm really interested in flashing Revolution Rom to my SGS1. It currently has CyanogenMod7 on it.
I've looked at the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1236432
but can't figure out if I'm meant to just flash the rom or if I somehow need to flash a stock Gingerbread first before then flashing the REvolutionROM.
Can anyone assist?
Apologies if this question's already been asked, I did a thorough search but couldn't find anything. Happy if you just point me to another thread if it's already answered.
thanks
Aaron
To revert from CM7 to any other samsung rom you need to first flash a full PDA stock rom with odin. with repartition. and 512 pit.
then you can change to what ever rom you want.

Why God .. why ...
Flash stock through ODIN or Heimdall and thats it
If you had to ask this, it's probably a good thing you're going back to stock.

why would you say that
Get stock ROM here.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=1&o=1&m=GT-I9000&r=-1#modelsa
You need stock ROM (3 file stock ROM), Odin & Pit512.
1. Start ODIN.
2. Select the files into the relevant places in ODIN.
3. Click repartition.
4. Put phone into download mode.
5. Connect phone to pc.
6. wait for Odin to connect to phone.
7. click start.
8. wait for ODIN to finish & for phone to reboot.
You must have pit512 and click repartition as ICS uses a different file system to Gingerbread.
You may have a boot loop after doing this. I have had this occasionally. To solve this reflash with ODIN. This time make sure repartition is unchecked and don't flash pit file.
Sorry Screen shot says scs. I meant CSC.

ics install directly from stock??

Hello, I would like to install this rom:
[ROM][ICS][4.0.3][Milestone4]BLUE LIGHTNING- v1.1.1-BLACKeditioN[AOKP][16/3/12]
on a i9000 (Dutch) from a collegue. He is on stock rom, version:
eclair
xxjm2
2.1 update
I myself have installed the Blue Lightning on my own I9000; I have to say it's awsome!!!
developper of the rom states:
==================================================
--COMING FROM STOCK ROMs/SAMSUNG BASED ROMS-
*DOWNLOAD ROM
*WIPE DATA/FACTORY RESET.
*WIPE CACHE PARTITION.
*FLASH ROM.
*WHILE FLASHING THE PHONE WILL END UP IN A BOOTLOOP(if u have external sd card inserted, else wont reboot), NO PROBLEM.
*SWITCH OFF BY REMOVING BATTERY.
*REBOOT INTO RECOVERY.
*REFLASH .
*REBOOT.
================================================
Can I update the ICS directly from stock recovery??
Thanks in advance!
No. First you need to flash a GB rom that contains the GB bootloader. You can flash the GB bootloader by itself if you want, but it's generally not recommended (but I did it anyway).
thanks!
What is a gb-rom, and can I flash it without Odin? I.g. can I flash it directly from the recovery mode from stock rom?
I don't want to get in too much trouble by doing a fovour for a colleque.......
And I don't want to run the risk of bricking his device!
Thanks in advance!
GB is gingerbread ... 2.3.x-firmware. Take jw 1 or jvu
must do this with Odin, for the bootloader.
Then ics-ROM

Can colleque first update with Kies to Gingerbread? So we can bypass the Odin-fuss?
Thanks!
You can flash this rom with odin so you have Gb + root
When you install the rom you can flash ICS directly
1. Download
2. Extract ZIP
3. Start Odin 1.3
4. Put the pit file in PIT
5. Tick repartition
6. Put PDA.tar it into PDA
7. Put phone in Download Mode (vol-down+home+pwr)
8. Connect through USB to your computer (make sure Kies is off)
9. Hit Start
10. Sit back and relax while your phone gets resurrected
Download the Rom HERE
Yeah try the kies method first. It might just work. If that updates the phone to Gingerbread, than we are good to go. Just follow the instructions on the ICS thread at that point.

[Q]Help on downgrading ICS stock to GB stock on galaxy note gt-n7000 version

hi, i'm currently just updated to ICS stock from GB stock(KK1 to LP5),
the update isn't what i aspected, so i thinking of reverting back to GB stock,
is the step accordingly like this or i'm missing something or steps?
1.preparation:a.download odin
b.download KK1 GB stock
c.comfirm kies operating
d.backup app and data
2.kill kies on cpu task manager
3.open odin
4.select pda > KK1 tar
5.get the phone in to recovery(stock) > wipe all?
6.get the phone in to download mode (vol down + home + power)
7.connet the phone to the pc
8.hit start when id:com truned yellow
9.wait for roboot
10.get the phone in to recovery(stock) > wipe all?
11.go root
12.restore app and data with TB
i know i'm missing a data wipe here, but i can't figure out the right timing to do it after so many thread, some even say that when u are on ICS stock u can't do data wipe or it will brick your phone
thanks in advance for helping out a noob
no need for sl.no5. check usb debugging is on and UnKnown source is checked. In PC-Odin Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time must be checked while Re-Partition and Flash Lock must be unchecked.
step 5 (5.get the phone in to recovery(stock) > wipe all?)not needed as well not recommended, you may get brick your device.
Just avoid this step.
Rest all ok.

Bootloops solution while downgrading

Hey guys I am very much pleased to share my solution when downgrading from a higher rom to a stock gb rom
I actually wasted more than half a day to rescue my mobile while I flashed stock gb (2.3.6) from a jelly bean rom
I flashed the stock rom via odin and still it somehow went into bootloops...
I searched and searched and viola!
1. Flash a stock gb ROM ( a JW4 is recommended) via Odin3
2. Reboot it.
3. It may get stuck at Galaxy S logo
4. Switch off the phone and put into download mode again.
5. Don't sweat it out as yet....There's still life in your phone.
6. Open odin and flash http://dl.xda-developers.com/attachdl/6b8a60703ecff287007bedbf951d050d/522c493a/8/4/5/2/8/3/dbdata.rfs.tar as PDA with nothing else ticked except Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time
7. Now keep your fingers crossed and set up your mobile.
Rooting (optional)
1. Once your mobile is setup
2. Switch it off
3. Open download mode
4. Flash this file http://download.chainfire.eu/155
And you can relive the stock GB experience.
Press thanks if I helped you... You'll be appreciated...

You wont get this problem when you flash JVU Firmware.
When you flash a rom for up/downgrading , flash it 3 times , then you won't get into bootloop or any other trouble.
