When you upgraded to ICS it will have changed the hboot, so therefore if you go back to GB, that will have been running off the old hboot.... get root explorer or esfile explorer and give it root privileges... then go to system/etc and find a file called vold.fstab open it up in text editor and look for this line
dev_mount sdcard /mnt/sdcard 33 /devices/platform/msm_sdcc.2/mmc_host
where it says 33, you will need to change it to 34
save the file once changed and reboot phone, you should have your sdcard back now
On another note this should've been posted in General forum.....

Incredible S Shipped ROMs Collection - (In Dev Section)

Hi,
I cannot post in the developement section, since I am a new user.
I am trying to install the arabic ROM, logged into recovery and selected apply update.zip, but I am getting an error message saying "invalid operation".
any ideas?
Thanks,
Hi!
You mean the thread with the RUU's?
What exactly did you try to do?
Well,
I downloaded one of the RUU, renamed it to "update.zip".
Then I moved it to the SD card.
Started the phone, accessed recovery mode, and tried installing the update.
However I got the error message "invalid operation".
Try naming it PG32IMG.zip and boot into the bootloader

Why didn't you just run the executable in the first place?

Sorry didn't read well. You can't just rename the executable. If you really wanted to do it manually you would need to extract it, find rom.zip and rename that one to pg32img.zip
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA Premium App
How do I run the executable?
Do I run it on the phone? I have tried looking in the forum to see how to install RUU.. but I don't see it anywhere.
Thanks in advance!
its an exe file... offcourse on your pc...
OK,
I execute it on the pc.. I get a black (command prompt / dos) screen and then it disappears..
An exe is a Windows executable, this software requires administrator rights, your phone have to be connected through usb. If it ain't working try to install the .net frameworks which can be found through Windows update, reboot pc, and try again to run it as administrator. It could take a little while before it starts though so be patient!
The rest is pretty obvious on what to do.

Also check if your downloaded file isn't corrupted. Check the filesize!
change the roms.zip to pg32img.zip
this definitely sounds like a corrupted file. Have you tried executinganother rom?
Hi there !
I'm having issues trying to RUU my Unbranded IS bought in Switzerland.
Firts thing, I saw on some forums that if the phone is Unbranded, we do not need GoldCard, but I assume, as I'm trying to install a ROM that is not for my country, I need to create that GoldCard, am I right ?
So following my thinking, I created a GoldCard on a spare SanDisk 4Gb, formatted to "slow" FAT32, getting the CID from mmc2, reversing, getting ".img", editing the sdCard with the Hex editor, with success.
But when I launch the "RUU_Vivo_Gingerbread_S_Virgin_Mobile_AU_2.12.981.2_R_Radio_20.2803.30.085AU_3805.04.03.12_M_release_185029_signed.exe", I'm still getting the following error :
131 - Incorrect Client ID
I thought my GoldCard is kinda corrupted, or something else, so I checked if I could open it in Windows => No problem.
I compared the 1'st sector of the ".img" file with the 1'st sector of the GoldCard => Identical.
So.... I'm getting crazy figuring out what is wrong with it.
If someone got an idea, it would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks !
EDIT: Tried with an 8Gb SanDisk Class 4, worked like a charm !
I'm fed up.

I've tried multiple Gold cards
Tried using the RUU.exe from my PC
(didn't work)
I took the rom.zip and renamed it onto the SD card. Ran the bootloader.
(didn't work)
Have anyone from Bell, Sasktel had any success yet?

I must say, u must have messed up goldcard, otherwise it should work, just try to follow this
1. take spare sd
2. format with fat32 in pc
3. put it in device & boot up
4. download goldcard helper app from market
5. run the app, it will give you two numbers use the top mumber labelled mmc2, dont bother to reverse mumber as it gives you reversed number as well
6. put cid number in this website http://psas.revskills.de/?q=goldcard & request for gold card
7. they will send you goldcard save it on pc
8. attach phone to pc select as disk drive
9 open goldcard tool as in here http://android.modaco.com/content/software/308798/pc-application-goldcardtool/
10. select htc mmc as your card in pc, select goldcard & click patch mmc,
11. thats it you have gold card, now install ruu & important thing when u run RUU is that select charge only & make sure Debugging mode is ticked.
hope this clears up!!
Still no luck.
Followed it step by step :/
I get ERROR 130 / Model ID ERROR

[MOD] HTC Beats Audio for WRE 1.5

Hi everyone,
I'm new to XDA and this is my first thread. I have been using WRE 1.5 on my Sensation XL with great pleasure; even though ROM is amazing the only thing missing for me, was HTC Beats.
I've tried searching XDA forum for a way to install Beats to WRE but to no avail.
Fortunately I managed to do it myself; I pulled out htc.music and htc.beatsnotify apks from ICS + Sense 3.6 and installed them both on my WRE 1.5.
I have attached both apks as a zip file.
Do not try to install them as you do with normal apps as they will not work.
You could use root explorer to add both files in /system/app; don't forget to reboot.
Alternatively you can use adb.
A short tutorial to use adb:
Connect your phone to your pc (make sure debugging mode is on);
Open command prompt and navigate to android-sdk tools folder. (e.i. cd C:/Andoroid-sdk/Tools)
Then type in command prompt:
su
adb remount
adb push com.htc.music.apk /system/app
adb reboot
Do the same for com.htc.HtcBeatsNotify.apk
I tried this method and worked absolutely fine; I have Beats and Beats Notifier on my WRE.
Hope you'll enjoy it.

Also I have attached a zip file as the links to dropbox weren't working.

Adb push commands listed are same as using root explorer and copying apks there. After reboot it should be fine. If you can get apk signed then will install as normal apps do without need for push via Adb or root exp. Drops apks into /system/app then reboot is same as adb push /system/apps. Same thing done differently

Thanks for that. It makes sense now as I've tried root explorer myself but possibly forgot to reboot. Will edit the post so people will know that works with root explorer.

TWRP Backups

Hi
I have made a couple of backups in TWRP but I cannot see these files in recovery nor on Windows. I came across the following post in another thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44087894&postcount=7
I changed to Internal Storage, and now my backups will show on the PC. However, I now have 2 sets of backups which are somewhere on the internal SD card but I cannot see these - I have subsequently lost more than 2GB unless I can find and delete these.
I have no idea where they are hiding. Have used ES File Explorer to search, but to no avail.
Please help me.. thanks.
Using a root explorer check /data/media/twrp, or data/media/0/twrp.

Yes, that worked. Thanks.
To get the backups where they should be delete that directory in /data/media/TWRP
Make sure you delete the twrps file. Then enter recovery and do a back up. It will put them where they should be in /data/media/0/TWRP which will be accessible in Windows. I heard just deleting the twrps file works but I deleted it and reflashed recovery and them my back ups were going in the right place.

NO CWM backups?

hey everyone well i was having some problem with my htc one root that it went away sometimes but after flashing 1.65 its fine but before that i had some backups of the cwm but i cant find them on my phone. In my s4 they are always on cwm folder and then backups but cant find on htc one.
Can someone please help me
thanks
Pretty sure they're in /data/media/clockworkmod/backup - they can't be seen by a PC so you have to use a file manager on the phone to move them to the PC-readable part of your memory
Thanks for the reply bro but i can find it.Nothing in that folder or anywhere else. Are my backups corrupt or something?

Do you have root access for your file manager app? If not, you won't see the files
How do I give it root access and which file manager should I use

Either move them to /data/media/0/... using the root explorer on your phone, then you can see them with the PC,
or
use "adb pull" on your PC.
Tried to copy and it says operation failed.Should I move it or copy it?

Hi, can I suggest you create a symlink, that way both CWM recovery as well as your PC will see them; that's what I did and works fine

R/W problem [solved kinda]

I've got a problem and can't seem to find a fix.
Been rooted and s-off for a couple weeks now.
I started out getting rooted through htc dev unlock and flashing Capt's recovery (the one that erased everything). I installed Viper and after some persistence a good guy talked me into s-off.
No problems.
Last night I decided to get crazy and try a new ROM. I chose Bad Boyz cause OMJ always seems like a legit person.
So to my problem in the best details possible (my apologies if all this is unnecessary)...
I did a backup (of course) and installed Bad Boyz ROM. During setup I hit a bump. HTC was restoring my setup and apps and it got stuck so I rebooted. Immediately after that I finished setup and then Google play kept giving me an "error 920".
I went into recovery and using Capt's 2.7.0.7 twrp fixed permissions. That didn't work. I restored my Viper backup. That didn't work. Using Titanium Backup I wiped Google play store data then cache. That worked!
However, one problem solved a bigger one arises.
I no longer have the ability to move files from internal sd to external.
I've tried everything I can think of. I've checked on ES File Manager it says it's R/W but fails when tried. Same with Root Explorer and FX.
I've wiped and reinstalled Viper but same problem.
I've read MassStash's thread and tried to go into system/etc/permission/platform but it already shows as rw.
So I'm stumped. Can anyone help?

Sir, simple I had same issue... When I open ES Explorer, I find the Root Explorer Option, tick it off, Exit out go to Superuser and clear any ES Explorer opinion you find. Go open ES Explorer and press back key when it asks for Root Permissions, go to Root Explorer option and tick it back on, accept Root Permissions! Then you press and hold on Root Options, It'll pop up a R/W menu where you can remount system, and external card, etc... If that doesn't do it it's got me beat!!

Not sure what the issue was. Just one particular file that appeared when changing ROMs wanted to be stubborn. Finally just deleted the file and put it behind me.
