Hi Guys, quick question!
I have and SXL with the Cool Sense 3.6 ROM from the 3 Musketeers. I'm thinking in flashing the Sense 4 version and I wonder if I only need to go into recovery, Wipe Cache, Dalvik Cache and flash the new ROM. Will that be enough or are there any other steps that I should follow, also?
Thanks in advance!
Don't bother to answer to my previous question. I have managed to flash the Sense 4 and root the phone successfully! It seems to be an amazing ROM ...so far, so good

yes you can but it is better to full wipe due to different base to prevent any bug that not suppose related to the ROM.

You are right! Only realised after flashing the 1st time w/out full wipe. All went fine but after typing my SIM pw, it kept saying loading and did not pass from. So, I have flashed the ROM again with a full wipe
This time and everything went fine. Shame u did not answered b4, as it would saved me from a 2nd attempt
But thanks anyway!

go to download section, take i9000.zip and common_2.2.zip
Ok thanks mate, I screwed up my phone while trying to install 2.1 before so thought better to ask
The thing is that I did download and install those 2 files only :?
Well hopefully it will work fine this time
BTW do I have to Wipe all (delvik, cache etc) or just the data?

I would do a full wipe for a clean install
P.s. btw i assume that you have cm9 or ics kernel installed before installing SlimICS?

Great Rom, very fast. 3g/wifi is working great, Battery life is cool too. My cell was charged 8 hours ago and wifi have remain on since. Also about 25 min of conversation done too.
Hmmm i misread and thought u were installing SlimICS but good that u got JB working anyways! Btw, how much better is Slimbean compared to SlimIcs? Have been thinking about upgrading..

Can't compare it with Slim ICS as I haven't used that but it's one of the best for sure , using it for just about 24 hours but it's working great.
ICS 4.0.4 was one of the best I have used and I can say that this one beats that hands down.

Okay, cool. Think i might try it out
as the topic, really need help ><
first i install the Blackout ICS Incredible v3.2 de-sense mod
then i found i actually prefer the original one (with sense and lots of widgets)
how can i go back to the original and remove the nova launcher?
or reflash the rom is the only solution?
Easiest to reflash the rom. You don't need to wipe anything but cache and dalvik

FAQ:Q:Is this recovery a touch version of CWM?
No, it is not a touch version of CWM, but it has touch and some other nice stuff.
Q:I have this hboot or that hboot, will this work for me?
Yes, this recovery supports all the hboots available for this device.
Q:Can i flash this or that ROM/MOD/Kernel with this recovery?
Yes, if it doesn't work, it's probably not for our device and the mounting points are not compatible.
Q:Is this better than CWM?
This is a matter of taste, but you could say it's better because it has more features.
Q:From where can i download themes for it?
Check the web if you find themes for the resolution 480x800, if not, recommend them here and maybe we will port them
Q:Why does the pictures above show a different version than the thread title?
The pictures are generic and will be updated only when major changes occur to the recovery.
Awesome job as I used on all my phones. Love ability to flash more than one zip at a time and all wipe function in one place, combo wipes etc. Very good and highly recommended. What have you added that this doesn't already do? Great work guys really is

I plan to unlock your device (from htc dev site), but my question is:
This recovery can install it on my end or is it just for HBOOT 1.25 (GB)?
yes it will work. this recovery works with all hboot versions

Thanks.
The step for flash custom ROM are?
Unlock bootloader.
Flash this recovery via fastboot.
Flash supersu.zip ( for root).
Full wipe.
Flash custom ROM.
Inviato dal mio multiboot HD2

Please read the thread, are the informations are here.
There is another easy alternative, you unlock bootloader >> install goo manager from Google Play (market), and in goo manager hit settings and install openScriptRecovery, something should appear, hit next, next, ok, ok, apply, apply and there you are
Thanks for your work guys.

No, CWM-made backups are not compatible with TWRP and TWRP-made backups are not compatible with CWM.
also what i did think backup files is also a diffrent format in twrp than cwm and remeber guys backup can be sized down like if you put something in a zip file only thing is it take a little bit longer but i tested and a normal that filled 700 mb was only arround 350 mb big when using that

sometimes its best to say you dont know mate...............makes you gain respect! lex knew and i know but you shouldnt give answers based n assumptions! i have actually tried this to test a while back and it is not possible. cwm backups and twrp are done differently hence the reason why

I also tested this , as i had multiple backups from CWM 5/6 and TWRP, and stock CWM 6 are not compatible with CWM 5 and others, but CWM 5 are compatible with CWM 6.
Hope this helps
Well that's not a big problem. I'm going to restore previous backups with CWM and then backup again with TWRP. It takes a bit longer, as I have to switch through different recoveries, but then I will have all my backups ported
I want to have sense 5 to be one 4.2.2 so that's why I want viper rom but I also need the htc logo menu hack from teamseven is this possible? If not what other kernel let's me have the htc logo hack but is compatible with viper rom. And finally I hearD that viper rom is very glitchy if that's true then is team Seven compatible with android revolution?

I believe it is compatible. Flar2's Bulletproof and ElemenatlX kernels both work great with ViperOne and are highly recommended. Both have, the logo to menu function.
I do not know where you heard Viper is glitchy, have been using it since the day it was released with absolutely zero issues. Tons of customization, great and supportive devs, and rock stable. I highly recommend it.
Thank you very much! My last question is how do to uninstall my current roms I have no backup since.... Well its a long story?

I would backup my apps with Titanium, install the Rom with a full wipe (won't touch your SD card with Viper), flash the custom kernel, then restore my apps with Titanium.
I have clockwork mod Is this still possible?
Viperone also comes with venom hub where you can flash compatible kernals just open go to downloads then kernals think they have 5 or 6
Okay so I did a data/factory reset and when I try to install through ADB sideloader It gets stuck at flashing Kernel.
Is the viper ROM Compatible with AT&T? All I see is stuff about Sprint. Can you link me to a AT&T download please.

Where are you looking at and getting ViperOne?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2334294
That is the link, and it specifically says its Not for Sprint. That is the AT&T download. You have to flash version 1.0 first, reboot, then flash the 1.0-1.21 update.
Also, why are you sideloading? Just download 1.0, reboot to recovery, and flash the file thru recovery. Unless you wiped your rom in the first place, no reason to sideload.
Hope this helps....

I'm glad everything is working! Sucks about titanium, but you can get past that, even though its a pain. Have fun playing with Viper, there are a ton of tweaks and customizations to try out! Enjoy....

Hi all,
I am currently using CM10.2. I am happy with it, but I might need MHL for somehow. Can I flash back and fore between CM10.2 to Stock without wipe my cache and data and I get
1, stable enough to run on both ROM
2, Personal data still good(still keeping like whatsapp history, contact data etc)
I am not brave enough to test by myself, hope anyone can help. Thanks

You can try it but you will for sure get a bootloop, especially with stock and custom rom. This way you are maybe able to change between custom ROMs with same android version, but stock is older than CM 10.2.

That's what I meant the differences between android version are to big and especially if you have a stock and a custom rom. Too many files/file paths are different and your system will screw up. It will boot, show the LG logo and reboot. That's why every single custom rom thread has the wipe part in it's instructions.
Like I said you can try it but I see no chance. I did it once between two custom ROMs (both CM 10.1) and even that didn't work out good.
It booted but every single app and system itself force closed repeatedly.
