I'll get this out of the way first: Yes, I am a noob, if i put this in the wrong section, sorry.
Yesterday, I rooted my droid 1, using the guide on droidforums. (if you google droid root, you can find it). That went fine.
Flashed it to Cyanogenmod (pretty sure it is 6.1.2, but i could be wrong). That wen't great as well.
Then i tried to flash a theme....... being the noob I am, i flashed it over cyanogenmod...... yes, i'm fairly certain that that was dumb, but like i said at the top, i am a noob.
I did make a recovery right before I messed it up, not sure if that helps me or not though.
So now, whenever I turn on my phone, the Motorola logo will show, then the CM logo will come up (android on skateboard), and then it will got black for about .5sec , and then the CM logo will come back, and start over.
This loop doesn't end until I remove the battery.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
Boot into recovery mode and wipe it, then flash CM again
I actually figured it out already lol.
Thanks for the help anyways.
Gave my old LG Revo to a buddy, things POS, but its all he has at the moment. Anyways, I had a version of Ginger-volt rom on there, and it was acting up, so I was just gonna update everything and put the last version that came out on it, or go with whatever the newest most stable rom is....So I booted into CWM and did a nandroid back up, then wiped everything, cache, dalvik, etc etc, booted up fine, went through some stuff, then i went back to restore the back up i just made cause he forgot to tell me about some game data he wanted backed up.....
So anyways, i restored it, wiped the cache, then rebooted, and yea, then it went into boot loop, at first it was between the LG Logo and the Boot Animation, but now it just suts at the LG Logo for quite awhile, like 10min, and then restarts, and does it over and over. And I try and hold down Power and Vol-Down, but it doesn't work, can't get into recovery. So Need some help here. I've tried all the old tricks I remember from my LG Revo days, but nothing has worked thus far. Is there a way to like boot into something like ODIN and just flash the Stock Firmware. Like RSD-Lite maybe ? Can't remember if that was Moto only....Think it may have been lol
remembered about the exitrecover.zip thing did that, put sdcard back in phone, booted, holding down power and vol-dwn, and it worked, flashed the .zip and then rebooted, now its doing it once again. WTF. I want this thing back to Stock, and then I am gonna root it and flash a new rom. but before that obviously i need to fix this first. Can someone help me at all. I know there isn't a lot of people left on this forum.

Try the LG restore tool i think its LGPSNT or something like that, but you need a .TOT, and the you can reroot, flash a recovery, and install an updated ROM, gingervolt is OLD

well i fixed that stuff on my own, couldn't get anyone to respond so I just went based on what I remember, like i said, it's been awhile since i used that phone
BUT NOW ! I got a whole other issue, and its a lot more F'd up, and I have never dealt with this before, so I am just wingin it on what i've tried so far. But i've hit a wall. So after restoring everything and getting Broke-Out rom back on there and everything, I noticed after a lil bit that it had the No Sim-Card icon in the status bar, and couldn't make a call. Then it hit me, and i didnt wnna say it outloud just in case i was wrong, so looked at About Phone>Status, and yep, Completely zero'd out, IMEI/MEID etc etc. I have no idea what to do. I tried following that guide on here but that program DFS or whatever, I entered my IMEI number in this program and hit "Write" and now its in my phone, so i know its communicating with my phone, but that still didnt fix it, I am missing the HEX number, and where it is located on the phone behind the battery, has been complketely rubbed away, so i cant read it. I don't know if Verizon will tell me what the number is, and I didnt wanna call them cause what am I supposed to tell them, not that we care about the warranty on this phone cause its pretty much on its last legs anyways, but i dont wanna cause any problems on my account, cause I know verizon is pretty anti-custom development,
So any ideas on what to do ?
Anyone ? Any suggestion on how to go about fixing this ?
Hi guys, this is my first post here, so please forgive any mistakes, but I am currently in full freak out mode.
So I am brand new to rooting in general, and I wanted to give it a shot because I have heard so much about it recently with Paranoid Android and battery saving tips. So today I gave it a shot. I actually succeeded, which was pretty neat. I loaded TWRP, and loaded SuperSU. I was pretty glad with what I had done, loaded some root apps. I wanted to install a ROM next, so the first thing I was told was to make a backup, then reset. So I did exactly that. I backed up my ROM using TWRP, then reset. However, it automatically booted itself right back, to which I was greeted with a freshly wiped HTC M7. I was pretty frustrated, so I went back to TWRP and loaded my backup, however, when I did that, it simply got stuck on the "HTC Quietly Brilliant" screen. I have wiped it multiple times, I have done a cache wipe, a full wipe, and reloaded my backup again, and every time I do this I simply am greeted with the same screen, that stays there. I am freaking out because I voided my warranty by unlocking the bootloader, and now I think I bricked my phone. I am still another 6 months out from completing my contract with Sprint, and the only backup phones i have are from the mid 2000s that are clamshell. What can I do to fix this? Is it a brick to begin with? Please help. Thanks.
Edit: I fixed it! I had to go back in, and push a rom so it could load. After I did that, it worked great with the new rom. I guess once you commit you just have to follow through!
First let me say thanks to all you who do what you do here. I have found a wealth of info from people who apparently do it just because.
That being said, in my noobness I have I think really botched my phone. It will come on and go to the loading screen and stop. The circle spins without end. I evevn left it on till the battery was out. Recharged and the same. I can boot into fastboot but anything I try to do there gives me permission errors(bootloader is unlocked). Boot into CWM and can do everything but nothing seems to help fix it.
I am on the verge of tossing it as much as I hate the thought of it.
I would appreciate any and all help.
Thanks again for all the help up to now.

Boot animation is correct. In cwm I go to wipe data/factory reset and the only option available is wipe cache, no reset option. Honestly I don't see several options that have been offered as help. I have also tried mounting some directories and they all throw errors.
Here is my progression. I flashed cyanogen, worked ok. Then I saw the tesla ROM and liked some of the options in it so I flashed it, worked ok but wasn't exactly what I wanted. So I went back to cyanogen and since then everything is a mess.
I tried to use fastboot from SDK and I get permission errors. I tried to go back stock with RSD Lite but I can't find a sbf that works.
What I have now is a fresh flash of cyanogen that boot loops.
HOORAY!!!! I got it!!
Found a stock rom at motofirmware and flashed it with RSD Lite and voila!
Thanks for offering some help mrrocks

Great happy for you your welcome :good:
My son has the Non-HK edition and has somehow erased everything off of his phone. As in, there is no operating system anymore. I've tried everything I can think of to get it back to stock and nothing is working. Maybe someone here can help me out and walk me through how to get it back working? The phone will boot to the screen where you can choose Fastboot, Recovery, HBOOT, and all that stuff. No custom recovery is installed on the phone either. I use to have TWRP on it but like I said, EVERYTHING is gone.
Your best bet is to run the latest non HK RUU found here.

Thank you so much for your help. I had tried that before and it didn't work. I have no idea why? I must have done something wrong. Phone is fixed now though. Thanks again.
