Hello all,
I am selling my currently use AT&T Tilt for $210 ($10 shipping cost). I have this phone for almost 6 months. I am moving over to the iPhone (muwahaha).
Here's what you will get:
1/ A phone (of course)
2/ CD-ROM and Manual
3/ Wall Charger & min USB cable
My phone is almost in perfect condition due to ZAGG skin. I will give buyer a 3 days return policy. If you can found something wrong with the phone, I will more than happy to return your money. It's one of my "do to other as you want them to do it unto you". However, no buyer remorse.
I am in San Jose, CA. If you want to do local pickup.
If you want to pay through paypal, PM for my personal email address. Fully funded cash only as I only have a personal account. Thanks!

Brave, aren't you
Brandie, What would have you post your phone number openly on this forum. There are oodles of loons out there with nothing better to do than mess with people.
Maybe a mod can help her out and delete her number.
LOONS I SAY... LOONS!!!!
I have one on ebay. It's with alot of accessories. I'll stop the auction if I'm made a good offer. Search for srhawkins or

So just to clarify!!!

Still Avaiable
I'm interested. Still aviable? PM me if it is.
I only want to know if i should sell it or throw it away.. if it's worth it... don't want to sell it here. Sorry if that thread seems to.
I bought a droid 3 on ebay, unfortunately i was not able to remove the subsidy lock
When i bought it, it was brand new. I only tried 2 codes, they didn't work. Bad luck for me.
I've never made any modifications to the software or hardware.
The specs:
Model: Xt862
Carrier: Verizon Wireless
ESN: good (i looked it up on verizon wireless' official website)
Condition: very good, not a single scrach or any damages.
Batteries: 3 (manufactured by motorola, they work without problems)
No instructions or anything else..
I live in europe (Austria) so i cannot retrieve any codes from verizon, only a customer of them can do that. So the value would be reduced to the minimum or nothing right? I got a new phone from samsung for free from my carrier "Telekom Austria" so no need for this cell phone any more. I don't even know if it is stolen or not, some unlock-code sites said "reported as stolen". Verizon website says it is eligable for activation the seller called verizon, the same answer. I don't want to do any researches to find out if it is stolen or not.. i don't think it is.
So is it worth to sell it or not?
Many thanks in andvance!
PS: sorry for my poor english

so maybe i can sell it on ebay .. how much can i get for this cell phone, approximatelly?
Yes, i'll do that but this phone is senseless in every aspect!!! Even a stone is more efficient as a paper weight! and of course much nicer DDD
The worst thing is, there are no alternatives for a qwertz or qwerty keyboard here.. no single phone at any carrier.. what a ...**********. they are too old to get support.. all of them..

You can definitely sell it. To say it's worthless is ridiculous. Android phones still serve as decent personal media players and gaming devices.
put a price on it, and let me know through a PM, pls.
i will take it of your hands.
i am located pretty close to your country, also.
Donate it to hashcode or some other developer. It might help them help the rest of us.
yes, this is the best idea!

You can sell it on Ebay. How much you brought it for?
Sent from my XT883 using XDA
Including taxes about 300€
without taxes 240 €
seemed to be a very good price..
Have you tried with TurboSIM, more precisely i-SmartSIM (orange)?
In addition to eBay, I would suggest dropping a PM to some of the D3 developers. They may be willing to negotiate a fair price with you, so they can have an extra device to test on, but definitely don't just throw it away...just a thought.
Curious if there would be any buyers out there. Moto Care is transferable, so I would be willing to just break even on moto care and the price for the device. It added up to $860 dollars. The phone is in brand new shape. Its just to big for me. I'd throw in all the cases I have, 3 I think, have a tempered glass screen that I would include. Talked to Supervisor at Moto named Tracy, she said she could transfer moto care stuff over before I ship it. I would just need the person's phone number and contact info. You only have a $39 dollar deductible to get it replaced if something screws up with it. Up to 3 replacements. I'm going to order a 64gb moto x as soon as I sell it. My cell is 918 908-0353. I guess I would do pay pal payment. I have never sold anything online like this before, so even if there are people out there not interested that would like to give me some advice, I'll sure take it. Figure I could sell it on ebay too, but not sure how the transfer of the moto care would work.
Thanks,
Jason Stump

Also it isn't wise to publically post your number out to the public.
Use swappa it is safer.
you should probably edit and take your phone number off as well.

I think you answered your own question. Weather you're trying to sell a house, or a car or an item on eBay or swappa, this type of result can only mean one thing.
they could atleast make an offer?
i feel like the money paid to feature it is being wasted.

That's not how swappa works. Post it for what you want to get or what it will sell at. It's not Craigslist or even eBay. These types of discussions are generally not allowed in xda either btw.

Folks wont bother with an offer if they can buy a new one for the same price.

Yes, without a doubt. When I buy on swappa, I pay no attention to featured listings. I'm looking at price, condition, price, seller rating, and oh yes, did I mention price?

The case is probably not worth any premium. It may be a selling feature, but will not get you any additional money.

I've found a couple on Craigslist that look to be in great shape. I'm not concerned about software, I'll flash it immediately. However how can I be sure the phone is legit? Are there any scams that I should be aware of? I've never bought a used smartphone so I don't exactly know what to look for, if anything.
Thanks for any advice!

First, read this thread and be aware of the risks.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3104504
1) Try swappa.com instead. It is dedicated to phone sales, provides some minimal intermediation, and vets the serial number of the phones listed.
2) Make sure the prior owner has not just done a factory reset on the phone, but also has removed his Google account from the security setup. (A new feature in Android 5.1.) If he did not do this, the device will be unusable to you.
Fantastic, thank you for that info.

'Legit' is the not the main thing to worry about.
My personal view is: don't buy a used smartphone.

I bought many phones om Marktplaats.nl and i never had problems with `used`phones. I however only bought them if the seller had the bill of purchase and most we`re issued after a contract renewal.

With these deals its not about the phone initaly, its about trusting the seller and if i trust that person i move on to focus on the phone. Most phones i got personaly and a few we`re sent to me and i never had a problem so far

When the price is low, and under the conditions you described, I agree with you.
But in general my view is, better a cheaper phone new, than a high range used phone.

1. Smartphones are complex devices. Repair is not always possible. When possible it is expensive.
Smartphones can stop working suddenly.
2. Misuse. You don't know if the used phone is handled with care. For instance dropping and/or contact with water *no warranty repair*.
3. Battery not 100%. Many warranty contracts exclude battery, or a limit of 3 or 6 months.
Not all phones have a removable back. Easy battery replacement not possible.
4. Security block. Since Lollipop the phone could be blocked. There are several posts about that.
5. Bootloader is relocked. Also several posts about problems.
6. A few months after introduction many phones become cheaper.
The main point is the warranty. Here in Europe it is 2 years and mostly 6 months for the battery.
When there is something is wrong the dealer is responsible for replacement/repair.

Yes, all true. That is why used phones are cheaper than new phones. (Also why used cars are cheaper than new cars.) It's all part of supply and demand in the marketplace.
Overall, I have had mostly good experiences buying and selling several used phones. This is especially true lately with the onset of swappa.com (see linked icon at the top of the xda-developers web page) which is dedicated to phones, more transparent than eBay or Craigslist and has a baseline of protections for buyer and seller.
Sometimes I buy new. Sometimes I buy used. When I buy new, it is nice to know that there will be a robust secondary marketplace for that depreciating asset when I am ready for something else.

I think better not compare phones with cars. But I know what you mean.
For me it is not 'black' or 'white'.
It is a point of view and a risk.
And when it concerns used phones the risk is the price. But when someone ask me I will tell him/her 'better buy new'.

Yes that is an interesting thread, which I note is now closed by the mods, who sent the poster to Swappa to handle this instead of trying to litigate this at XDA. IMHO, if this seller was scammed as he says, his mistake was not following Swappa's policy in the first place, notifying Swappa staff immediately before refunding the money.
Swappa policy states:
Seller may void a sale if they suspect fraud on the part of the buyer. In events of suspected fraud the seller must notify Swappa immediately.

I am curious how Swappa handled this case.

I'm curious, too. But Swappa may not be able to help because the seller apparently failed to follow Swappa's established procedure for resolving such disputes at the outset. He might still take his complaint to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, since USPS reportedly was used by the buyer to ship back the alleged return. Postal fraud is a serious criminal offense, over which that agency has jurisdiction. That provides some deterrence against fraud, but of course does not provide victims any compensation.
As for this thread, the lesson to be learned is: If you use Swappa to buy or sell, follow the rules. And if you suspect fraud, follow the established process.
