[Q] Sound Question (Not the question you are thinking) - TouchPad Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am running the latest unofficial CM Nightly for my touchpad. I just noticed that when I plug in my headphones, I can hear the sound out of the headphones as well as the built in speakers!
I have tried my best to search for an answer but I am not even sure how to word this question to find the answers.
If someone can help I would greatly appreciate it!

If this has already been covered...I truly apologize! I have tried searching with no luck.

I think it has been covered. If I remember correctly the solution is to plug your headphones in before you start playing music, or video..etc etc..

[Q] Wired headset mic fix?

Ok, I started using the newest Axura, and I love basically everything about it, but I don't like how I have to unplug my headset to take a call, then plug it back in to listen to music. Is there a way to get the headset fix from other ROM's to work on this, or did I just do something wrong? I tried my best with searching, but couldn't find anything but other people having the same (similar?) issue. Thanks guys!

[Q] Noise cancellation on phone?

I'm running v20l stock (rooted) and am experiencing a ton of noise (almost like the phone is on speaker when I make a call. The other person can hear almost everything in the room (every little noise) almost like the speaker on the LG is too sensitive. I'm not sure if I did something wrong or missed a step or what I can do to resolve.
I bought this phone and it had Cyanogen nightly on it and I had some issues and wanted to go back to retail stock but this can't be the norm?
I'd value any advice as to what I can install / do to fix it or alternatively, if there are good rom/kernel bundles that seem to do a better job, I'd appreciate the advice.
Thanks!
Isn't there a simply toggle to lower the volume of your mic ?

Not that I've been able to find. I'm running Cyanogenmod now as well but there dont' seem to be options anywhere for that.
Maybe this can help you:

[Q] Low audio in calls with CyanogenMod

I installed the CyanogenMod by Maclaw - " Jellybean 4.2.2 (CyanogenMod 10.1) 20130826 "
The audio has changed somewhat now for me. I've noticed that for some individuals the audio is so low it's hard to hear what they say if there is any ambient noise. However, this is only for some of them. For instance, when I talk to my brother in law I can hear without a problem.
Still, overall the audio has dropped, for some contacts quite significantly. And I do have maxed the audio, checked what settings I can think of too.
Is this fixable in some way? Can't find anyone with this problem that got it fixed
Sincerly,
/martin

Thanks you SO very much for that link! :good: It changed for those that was too low, but the ones that had a decent volume level was kept at that. So now I can once again hear what they say!
Well, this just sucks. It didn't change anything at all. It turned out to be only in-calls that had low volume, and it still does.
Also, noticed today that when I make a call and the audio is good, and then turn on loudspeaker it goes really low. Quite annoying..

i would recommend that next time you spend a bit more time reading up on posts before using a ROM
you should possibly considering moving to one of the stock based custom ROM's

stock base custom rom aren't anyting like cyanogenmod. they are buggy, each developer changes the look of it the way he likes it. i don't like most of them. i know what i say. tryed all of them. used Dmod V5 a while, and then it totally fu...ed it up in last version.
i got used to the problem. waiting for a fix from maclaw or oliver.

[Q] Headset jack permanently damaged?

I was using my skullcandy headset on my phone and everything was working fine, until I (like an idiot) tried to adjust the headset gain value while the headset was plugged in. Then, I could hear buzzing in my earphones and when I plug it in, it says headset not supported. I tried a clean flash of the ROM to no avail. Then I flashed the Z3 sound files and tried, and it worked for a bit, but the sound was coming from both the headset and the speaker. So assuming it was an issue with the Z3 sound files, I flashed back the Stock sound files for mono. Now, it's not recognizing and headset or headphones(which was previously working when the headset wasn't being recognized) and when I pull it out of the jack, it says headset not recognized. Have I broken my headset jack? I use my phone for music, and this is really important. I'm praying I haven't and that there's a fix. Please help..

I do have an unlocked bootloader. I flashed v15 and it seems to be working with headphones (which don't have an inline mic) haven't tested the headset for fear of losing even headphones functionality. I'll test headset in the evening and if it doesn't work, I'll try a reflash of the kernel.
Is headset functionality also tied to kernel? I thought it was a ROM function. Really appreciate the help

If u are saying the the stereo mod v15, it is a bit buggy
i got left side and right side volume different = =""
this version may messed up with kernel volume control a bit
yeah everything is finally controlled by the kernel actually
Try using pimp my z1 and set value in Headphone analog gain, it fixed the s**t up (for me)
or if u want good and stable music quality, use dreamingonmusic v11z

I'll try the headset, see if it works, if not, reflash stock sound files, see if it works, if not reflash kernel. Thanks for all the help man, really appreciate it, you're awesome!
The problem arose when I tried changing the value on pimp my Z1 while the headset was connected. So I'm not playing with the pimp my Z1 settings anymore. Uninstalled it.

Maybe u should refresh the rom without any mod to test it instead, becoz the "stock mod" may not be able to completely clean off the s**ts

I reflashed the ROM. I'm hoping flashing the kernel fixes it.
Thanks man, narrowed down the issue. My headset is ****ed. The second I connect it, it's ****ing everything up. So that's the culprit. Simple reboot fixes it and I can use headphones.
Thanks so much for your help, unfortunately even a kernel reflash didn't help. I botched something with the headset when I adjusted the output while connected. Thanks a ton for your help and support. This is why I love xda. The power of the community.
Thanks a bunch.

Change audio output on Android

Hi guys, i'm new here.
I'm having problem in these days with the LG Optimus 4X HD, it worked "well"(i think we all know the problem that his phone has) until yesterday, now infact i can't hear nothing on both speakers(system and calling speaker) and the microphone doesn't work too.
So i think this an hardware problem, like i've inserted a pair of headphone and the jack is stuck in the port. I can't make calls because from the other side they can't hear me and i can't hear them.
I was thinking if there's any way to force the audio output to the main speaker, so if it detect an headphone the sound go out from the speaker and not from the headphone itself.
Of course i've already wipe everything and changed ROM(i'm with the Resurrection Remix right now), for this i think it's an hardware problem because if it was a software one it should be solved thanks to the wiping.
Thanks in advance to everyone, have a nice day.
