Hello I'm I'm a custom ROM that has no startup and shutdown sound in the system media directory only the boot.zip animation so if I add a startup and shutdown zip there will it play? Thanks

You have to delete the asop music player, delete the music.apk from the system/app then reboot. Should work then
Do you have to rename the file to music.apk first? Or can you leave it named MusicPlayer.apk
Shouldn't have to rename. We don't have the same player in the fascinate but you shouldn't have to rename it.

I have a problem with bootanimation.zip
My phone can't turn on. I've copied bootanimation.zip into system/media .. rebooted and I'm stuck in animation "android", I can't access anything.
I've forgot to delete system\media\bootsamsung.qmg files and it seems to be a problem.
Tell me please, how can I access system/media and delete bootanimation.zip ?
I don't wan't to re-flash it.
using: JVP 2.3.4 rooted
You can use the script of DamianGTO. He was banned of xda but you can find it on his own site.
which script?
his page is unavailable..
Your kernel must support changing the bootanimation.zip (stock-kernel doesn't).
Why got Damian banned?

ok, so which kernel to 2.3.4 do you recommend? ;-)
I'm using speedmod

I can't get it to go. I try to paste the boot animation zip into the folder and it won't let me paste it or rename the old zip. I'm using OI file
Manager.

If you want a different boot animation, just put it into the .zip yourself, and make sure it is called bootanimation.zip under: data\sys-parts\media
OK cool thanks a lot I'll try root explorer and see how it works

I made that .zip so you could flash through CWM, if you wanted Nexus S boot that is...
Just flashed the nexus zip. Works and looks great. Thanks a lot. That made things a lot easier.
