I doubt you can pay with gift cards though.
$219.54 with California Tax.
Got mine! Can't wait to play around with it. Paid $213.xx for FL delivery. Can't complain though.
You can get it to ship overseas if you use a guest ebay account and a mail forwarder
Ha, I'm visiting San Francisco and was thinking I'd pick up an NC. But with this deal it'd still be cheaper to have one shipped to WA state for subsequent pickup. I'm leaving too soon to have it sent here.

Came to post this, great deal, good job. Got mine.
Thanks for posting this, I've been thinking about getting on for a while now, this sealed the deal. Great community here!

You may be able to bring it back to the store and have them return and repurchase right away and pay with gift cards.
Just ordered mine! XDA is the best!

I picked one up too, figured for $200 bucks + tax I can justify one for playing around with.
What size and class SD card should I buy for ROM use?
Just bought one myself. Great deal. I went into the B&N store and the "Nook guy" wasn't able to honor the ebay deal but said he had heard about it this morning. So I turned around, went home and bought it online. $50 and I could have had it now. But I'm learning patience....
I was on the fence about buying the GTablet since it's hardware specs are better, but once I saw the Nook's screen it was a no-brainer. Plus the price.
Now to look through the root guide...if I can find it.
I went to a Best Buy in SF to try one out but the battery was dead and refused to charge. And the only B&N stores here are outside of the City. So I still have yet to play with the hardware. Leaving the USA on Wednesday.

Many have shared their good experience with Transcend 8GB Class 6 cards, I am using one myself. Froyo roms don't really play well with 16GB cards for now. If you search this section of XDA, there's a thread regarding other users' experience with different SD brands.
On a side note, if you are living overseas you can engage in a freight forward company to ship it to you. From where I am, I can share two links:
http://www.vpostasia.com - Ships from Portland (tax-free!) to Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Australia and India. Charges are reasonable, plus if you have credit cards issued from certain partner banks, you get a discount up to 40%. Delivery is tracked.
http://www.comgateway.com - Ships from Portland too, and to various countries outside the US. Charges are higher, but that's because they use DHL.
*In no way am I affiliated with these companies. Just sharing on methods I use to obtain stuff from other countries, aside from the occasional returning friend.

Let me say this. The screen is absolutely gorgeous. You won't be disappointed. However, the stock software leaves something to be desired. Although, I say that only because I know the developers have been able to push this thing way beyond stock.

Thank you for the information! I'm in the US, so I'll probably stick with someone like Amazon ($18.99 USD for Transcend 8 GB microSDHC Class 6 Flash Memory Card TS8GUSDHC6E).
Crap, great offer, just in time to receive the one I ordered last week at full price...
Murphy says it clearly, it doesn't matter how hard you shop for an item, you will allways find it cheaper somewhere else, after you bought it...

the other thread wasn't much use to me since it doesn't list any official channels (there really isn't any). I got myself one in february though. Ordered one from Amazon US, the UK one doesn't carry it.
there are a few resellers on amazon US, i tried one that shipped internationally but when time came to pay (with a British credit card), i faced the message due to licensing restrictions the product can't be shipped internationally.
for some reason, i decided to try my luck again with another reseller, Blueproton on amazon US. this time it worked. their dispatch was ultra quick, though fedex did screw up a bit. long story short, you can try to buy from blueproton on amazon US. Cost in total was about £232 if i remember right, including 25 for shipping (i used expedited though).
I know alot of the places it quite expensive around 850 usd. and online its only 700-725
does anyone know of a store that you could buy it in person closer to the online price?
there are so many places here i dont even know where to start looking, any experienced HK shopping help would be appreciated.
or even a buy online and in-store pickup. i just want to make sure i can check the screen and if all is good so i dont have to deal with shipping it back and fourth.
thanks.
If you're shopping in Hong Kong for electronics you're probably best off staying away from Mong Kok and all the major shopping centers - they're looking for foreigners to fleece. Make sure you have a solid idea of how much you can buy it for online, then be prepared to haggle. They won't give you the price you want right off the bat, so be prepared to walk away. Most will call you back to negotiate.
At the end of the day, I found it was best to buy from eBay (ironically shipped from Singapore) and avoid the games they play at the Hong Kong Electronics markets. Also, the exchange rate fluctuates and you could end up losing money just converting to HKD.

i understand ebay is the cheapest the reason i want to get it in store is so i can view the screen and make sure its good, i have friends here in HK i can shop back for warranty but would rather not.
and considering almost EVERYONE reports a screen problem id rather pay 50 bux more and know its ok.
so if you or anyone have an actual suggestion for a place to go that would be awesome.

i am still asking about an actual physical store
not an online store, i know it can be gotten online.
does anyone know of the cheapest store in HK that would see it so i can look at it before buying?
AHAH! i finally found a place that shows in-store prices and seems to be about usd 715-750
here is this site
http://www.price.com.hk/
you can compare many stores so i could check out the device in store before buying it.
I played with and eventually bought my Note a few days ago at Fortress, Melbourne Plaza, Queens Rd, Central. (Near Central MTR). I'm pretty sure you could do the same in all the Fortress stores as they have big mobile display areas.
It's pretty trustworthy as it's a major chain, but as such you don't get the larger discounts you might be able to track down in Mongkok. Mine was $5998 HKD.
I myself am STILL looking a way to purchase the Nexus 5.
Being from Belgium, the only company that sells it over here is "Coolblue"
Now, i'm very disappointed on how LG has rolled out the Nexus 5. The nexus 4 was a huge success, and they were already struggling with providing everyone with a Nexus 4 at that time. You'd at least think they would learn something from that.
I already ordered myself a case, and a car holder since those were from Ebay & Spigen(UK) and would take a few weeks to deliver. Now i'm starting to think i might have the case and the car holder before i get the actual phone. Whats also a shame is that Belgium/Netherlands/??? Only have the ability to buy the 16GB version for a higher price than the 32GB version in other countries. Talking about "Country Discrimination". Some would say "Drive across the borders to get one". Well, the first reason i'm not doing it is because every store close to Belgian borders either don't have it, or have sold it out already. The other reason is the warranty is "Local". Meaning getting it in Germany would acquire me to send it to the German warranty if something happens to it.
I contacted these stores either by phone or by mail:
Sold out Saturn(NL)
Sold out Mediamarkt(NL)
Sold out Mediamarkt(DE)
Sold out coolblue (BE/NL)
Sold out Belsimpel(NL)
Sold out GSMwijzer(NL)
Sold out Kijkschop(NL)
Sold out Castle (NL)
Not Available Mediamarkt(BE)
Not Available Fnac(BE)
Not Available Mobistar centre(BE)
Not Available Saturn(BE)
Not Available Selection (BE)
I feel let down, and i thought i'd share it with XDA since i've been following stuff here for quite a while and always had help with problems i had on my androids.
Just curious.. Want to go pick one up

I was planning on buying one online and picking it up at the store on my lunch break. So far, nothing showing on their site. I am refreshing quite a bit. Already see it available on Play Store. Nothing on Amazon or BB as was stated it should be available today.
When I called Google last week because I lost patience waiting for tracking confirmation, I mentioned to them that if I wasn't getting it today (Launch Day), I might add well cancel my pre-order & just go to Best Buy today...
I was told that they have exclusivity. He knew eventually they'd all be available everywhere, but didn't know when.
I don't know how reliable a customer service rep is, and I don't know anyone from Best Buy... Just sharing my limited knowledge. Haha.
I just talked with best buy online chat. Their release dates are today..which was reported at Google i/o but they dont have them yet i guess
Thank you for choosing Best Buy, my name is Jacky. How may I assist you today?
-------------I am looking to pick up a LG G watch or a Samsung gear Live watch, from my understanding they are both available today in stores?
I'd be more than happy to assist you with your questions regarding these watches.
Their release date was scheduled today but it is not showing availability on the website so it seems that the manufacturer hasn't released them to us.
--------------So theyre not available in stores?
As far as I know, they are not available in the stores but we don't know for sure. We are mainly online support. You could try to contact the stores to see if they have them but they are not showing up as available online which usually means they're not available in the stores either.
I called a Best Buy here in Tampa by my office. They told me they were sold out. So it would appear that they may have had some available this morning but no longer due. With that in mind I have gave up and ordered one from the Play store.
I just went to my local Best Buy in Burbank, CA. The dedicated Samsung rep hadn't even heard of the Gear Live and they couldn't find a SKU in the system. I guess I should have just ordered from Google.
I was going to order one on Amazon and get next day shipping for $3.99 as a prime customer. I can't find them on Amazon or Best Buy. This sucks! Any idea when they will be available?
Who said they would be available at Best Buy and Amazon today? Can someone post a link where Google stated that?
Thanks!

No, it was just unsubstantiated rumors spread by all the tech blogs. That's probably the information they got at I/O, but nobody stated where they got that info from.
Best Buy
I also went into a Best Buy today looking for the Gear Live today. The Samsung rep just kind of shrugged me off and said she didn't think Best Buy was carrying those. I know better because on the Best Buy site Android Wear is listed as coming soon and every press release has said they'd be getting them. I just left wasn't in the mood to debate with her. I really wish Best Buy was more knowledgeable about their products especially the Samsung reps
I went to two Best Buys in Durham, NC and neither has the Gear Live. In store #1, the Samsung rep knew the watch existed, but didn't know that it was listed as "coming soon" on Best Buy's website. He did however ask the store manager if they had received any in inventory that just weren't being sold yet, and was told they hadn't received any at all. Store #2 rep knew what I was looking for and said he had no idea when they will be getting them.
Buying In Store
Most likely, it will be at least a month or two before they come to the store. Google did that with the last few Nexus phones and tablets for a while so it doesn't seem to far fetched if it won't be in store before August.
I called a BB in Tampa near my office and they told me they were sold out but they should be getting more in soon, although they did not have an exact number or date.
I gave up and ordered from Play Store.

I don't doubt or argue that is what you were told, but I'd be very surprised if they actually gave you correct information. Perhaps they sold out of a different Gear watch and didn't recognize or even know that you're asking about the Gear Live. My in store visits and calls to local Best Buys all indicate a great lack of knowledge that the Gear Live even exists, and none of the 4 stores I spoke to (two in person) had any idea when they would begin receiving them. I think when they show up on Best Buy's website is going to be when they are actually available in stores.
It says pre-order on Best Buy website.

I work for Samsung inside of a BestBuy and I can verify that they don't have them yet. I would assume they will get them Wednesday at the soonest since they get trucks on Tuesday nights.
