Just Flashed Stock GB, But wont go past Samsung Logo and Restarts - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

OK, Just Reflashed from CM9 to Stock GB:
N7000XXLC1-2.3.6-2012 March-N7000CPWLB2--United Kingdom (Carphone Warehouse) UPDATED (old file was corrupt)
This is what I did.
1.Opened Odin
2.Put Note in download mode and connected USB
3.Pressed Volume up
4.Auto-reboot, F. reset time ticked and loaded file in PDA
5.Pressed start
6.Once completed the phone installed the packages, the phone reboots and shows the Samsung Logo, after 1/2 mins it will reboot and will constantly go in a loop (samsung logo then reboot)
Please help

are you able to go to download mode? try to flash another gb rom via pc odin. I use KL3 normally (you can change country code later). read once again how to flash via pc odin. check any loose cable connection. usb cable should be firmly connected to PC as well as the device. good luck

Try this, go to recovery and perform data wipe, cache, and dalvik ( if there is one). I suggest this in the assumption
that is safe to this on CM9.

This is common issue
You have succesfully flash GB ROM so now it is safe to wipe cahce and data. perform it from recovery and it should boot normally.

hey
sorry I am a total noob, how do I do that Dr ketan?

Put device in recovery(vol up + home +power)
Select wipe cache then wipe data
Then reboot
It shud b fine
Note this will erase data.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium

It worked! Thanks Dr ketan

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S I9000 - rooting, resolving lag and Jelly Bean

Hi,
Grateful for assistance in:
a. Rooting my phone using Odin. Official ROM on phone is I9000XXJW4 (Gingerbread 2.3.6). Which kernel should I use to root the phone and is there a guide available?
b. On completing a. above is there a OCLF solution for fixing the lag problem and a guide for doing this? I understand the pay OCLF app on Google Play does not work and now does not contain the option to root the phone.
c. I have read with interest the option to flash a custom Jelly Bean ROM. Which custom Jelly Bean ROM is the best and most stable to flash? A guide would also be useful please. Is there a lag problem with custom Jelly Bean ROMs on the I9000? If so, I would be happy to stick with my official ROM if the lag problem can be resolved.
Apologies for all the questions but advice and assistance would be gratefully received. Many thanks.
you're already on JW4 so,
download the attached zip.
install the usb drivers ( can google for them easily, or install kies, then uninstall kies but not the drivers it installs. )
download odin if you haven't already ( guessing you have though )
extract the zip you downloaded
launch odin, click PDA, then navigate to where you extracted the zip, and select the tar file it contained.
boot phone in download mode ( turn off, hold volume down, home, and power keys until it boots to download mode, yellow triangle on screen )
connect phone via usb
once odin recognises the phone ( rectangular box below first square box will turn yellow when recognised ), click start to flash the file
phone will automatically reboot once the flash is successful.
phone is now rooted and has cwm installed.
after that, just pick the rom you want to install, download it and the relevant gapps file ( make sure its the right one. 4.2 gapps don't work right with 4.1.2, keyboard tends to crash ), and copy them to your internal sd on the phone.
reboot to recovery ( turn off, hold volume up, home, and power until it boots into recovery )
use volume keys to navigate in recover, home key to select, perform factory reset in recovery, wipe data, wipe cache, go into advanced and wipe dalvik cache, then return to main recovery menu, flash the zip containing your selected rom, followed by the relevant gapps zip.
reboot.
done, setup phone.
as for the oclf thing, can't help you, only had my own galaxy S for a day, so idk about that.
as for jb and lag, i haven't noticed it with the rom i'm running ( details in my sig ), and it seems pretty stable to me, although i can't give comparisons to other jb roms as i haven't experimented with them, due to intending from prior to purchase to run paranoidandroid anyway.

Thanks. Can you still use Samsung Kies to reinstall contacts to phone when using a custom ROM?

Help please My phone is dead

Ok so I was on the Vodafone release of the JB update, the phone became real laggy etc so I decided to see if there were any more releases of the JB update, I found Australia's LT6 so I switched off my phone.
I connected to ODIN on my laptop and put the MD5 file into the PDA and clicked start, It failed, so I tried again from scratch and it failed once more, Since then I have tried flashing A copy of the old Gingerbread stock rom. Still no avail.
I can access Download mode and when I enter recovery mode I get firmware upgrade encountered an issue please select recovery mode in Kies.
Kies does not register the device yet my laptop makes the sound when I connect it.
What do I do to save my phone!
Info; My phone is not rooted or on a custom ROM All stock.

Flash the CM9 safe kernel in download mode using ODIN PC : here http://www.mediafire.com/?uhiges9y3zhs8oi and here http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1068597&d=1337343150
Then, you will be able to boot into recovery by pressing Vol Up + Home + Power.
Recovery will give you access to USB mode, put a stock ROM or Small Pristine XXLT5 on your SD Card (internal or external).
Do a factory reset, wipe /system/, flash the ROM, and you will be good to go ! :good:

Why do I need to use a CM9 Kernal?
I don't want to have root.
Where do I put the Kernal in Odin?
First of all you should tell as exactly what error you got when installing XXLT5 in PC Odin.
Maybe make a snapshot of PC Odin window with the error.
Not start more actions with other ways to install a Rom before it's clear what happened. If you do not know it might get even uglier.

[Q] Dead? Blackscreen without logo N7000 4.0.3

Hi,
I'm a newbie who has a Galaxy Note N7000, 4.0.3 with kernal LQ3.
I wanted to root and install a new room.
I downloaded "PhilZ-cwm6-XXLQ3-OXX-v3.99" and successfully installed it via my microSD-card.
Without booting my phone I by mistake installed "gapps-jb-20130301-signed" and it worked flawless as well, so I thought why not try install the ROM directly as well - without rebooting the phone hence I started the installation of "JellyBeer-v4.32-29062013-101059-n7000". This was made without choosing "wipe data/cache".
Everything seemed to work fine, and it was in the stage "installing".
Without noticing the screen turned black and I got panic and after 20 sec I removed the battery. Now the phone doesn't react on either the power button or recover mode. The screen just continues to stay black. Can see any indication once connected to the charger either....
Can you please help me with advises?
Can you enter the download mode (vol down + home + power). If you can, download one of the stock ROMs from sammobile.com and flash using PC ODIN. This should take you back to the stock ROM after which u can again root using the Philz kernel. And before flashing, please read the instructions carefully. You have to flash the ROM first after a data/cache wipe and then gapps (if needed).
Hi,
It dosen't seem to react to the download mode....
Is it possible to do something by entering the phone's hardware? Remove battery - for cache restore or similar?

Are you using the correct firmware from Sammobile for your Galaxy Ace GT-S5830?
You can try the following steps:
1. Remove the battery (be sure it is fully charged!!), wait 5 mintes, put it back and retry the flash
2. Try reinstalling drivers, uninstall Kies.
3. Use a different usb port/cable from your firends (If they have a Galaxy Ace)
4. Install drivers and use a different pc.
or Supermini's guide :
Step 1 – Prepare odin with the firmware u want to flash (in my case was gingerbread 2.3.3) and get it ready to go;
Step 2 – Remove battery and connect your galaxy ace to the computer;
Step 3 -- Insert battery holding Volume down + Power + Home
Step 4 – At this point Odin should have detected your SG Ace ( Yellow rectangle should appear);
Step 5 – Click Start button in Odin and wait about 5 min.

try reflash stock firmware using odin . and then enter recovery to factory reset the phone..
Thats nonsense. If he flash by Odin stock FW, no need to do factory reset or wipe something.

Yes, try another one to see if problem is in charger. Try charging with USB on PC for example.

I had the same problem! First root your device. And then use a custom rom such as this one
Steps to Install Android 4.2.2 on Samsung Galaxy S Advance GT-I9070 via Unofficial AOKP
Step-1: Download AOKP Android 4.2.2 for Samsung Galaxy S Advance to computer
Step-2: Download Google Apps
Step-3: Connect Galaxy phone to computer using USB cable. Copy downloaded zip files to SD card of phone. Do not extract any file
Step-4: Disconnect phone from computer and switch it off. Wait five to six seconds for vibration to confirm complete power off
Step-5: Boot Galaxy S Advance into recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume Up, Home and Power until Samsung logo appears. Then release all three buttons. The device will be in recovery mode soon
Note: In recovery mode, use Volume buttons to navigate between options and Power button to select desired option
Step-6: In recovery mode it is important to perform a Nandroid backup of existing ROM, which can be restored later in case the new ROM does not work or users wish to go back to previous firmware. To perform Nandroid backup, select Backup and Restore and then, on the next screen, select Backup again. When backup is done, go back to main recovery menu
Step-7: Perform data wiping task to avoid clash between new and previous ROM. Select wipe data/ factory reset, then select Yes on next screen to confirm action. Wait for a few minutes until data wiping process is completed and then go back to CWM recovery menu. Select wipe cache partition and select Wipe Dalvik Cache under Advance option to perform Dalvik cache wiping. Once action is completed, return to recovery menu
Step-8: Select install zip from sdcard and then select choose zip from sdcard. Now navigate to AOKP ROM zip earlier copied to SD card of phone. Press Power to select and confirm installation by selecting Yes on next screen. ROM installation should begin
Step-9: After ROM is installed, follow similar procedure (Step-8) but this time choose Google Apps package
Step-10: When installation process is completed, go back to main recovery menu and reboot phone by selecting reboot system now. The device will reboot into customised AOKP firmware. The phone will take a few minutes to boot up for the first time
The Samsung Galaxy S Advance should be now updated to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, with unofficial AOKP ROM. Head to Settings > About Device to verify new software running on phone
Note: To go back to previous ROM, boot phone into recovery, select Backup and Restore and then restore ROM by selecting from list
All instructions are there in the site. Also this is a new Android OS version . It removes the bloatwares and significantly improves performance and will hopefully solve your "CHARGING BUG" and improve the user interface as well!BUT BE CAREFUL , THIS IS NOT A TOUCHWIZ ROM ! ITS AN AOKP ROM, so you'll lose TOUCHWIZ features.
If I did help ,please don't forget to click on the THANKS button !!!
Cheers !!
