My Sensation XL battery doesn't last for long at all, especially when data is on. I have 3 musketeers sense 3.6 v3 rom! If I update my hboot to 1.28 will it make battery life better? How do I update my hboot?

HBOOT don't have anything for battery life. Install current view widget and see how much system drain your battery. Otherwise consumption always will be greater if your screen is still turned on. This is not a screen diagonal 2". Reduce the brightness, turn off the 3g net when screen is off, etc. And finally calibrate the battery.
I get a 1 1/2days battery life on my sxl
I nvr us data, i use only wifi and also i nvr play games.
I watch online ding dong videos at night and Auto sync is on and push mail also.

Chaki, which rom are you on?
11% of screen? What?! what brightness you chose?
I am on stock ICS. Brightness is always 100%. I never use task managers. I have 3 home screens with the most used widgets. But i guess i got a little more power because i changed the originals icons with desktop visualizer and the system doesn't drain power to keep the widgets running. And i always use black theme with black wallpaper without animations.
Ooooorrrr i am just lucky and i got a nice assembled SXL

Hi guys,
I used three JB-based ROMs for IncS (CyanVivo X, Codename Android and JellyBean Evolution), and so far all of them shared the same feature: the screen tint was noticeable yellowish. I'm not a designer and I can't say whether it's a result of low red or surplus yellow, but it is difficult for me to read from the yellowish screen, while I read a lot.
I don't want to go back to 4.0, thus, I have a question: is there a way to somehow adjust the color balance? I tried the following ways:
- screen overlay apps, like Screen Adjuster -- yellow tint is recompensed, but the black color fades out and becomes brown or violet;
- calibration tool from this thread -- the app didn't even get installed.
Can anyone suggest a working color temperature calibration tool?
Maybe it is possible to repack the ROM itself to change the default color balance?
Or is there a custom kernel with color management feature?
Thanks in advance!
I'm on CyanVivo X now, and I'm not noticing any tint. Sure it's not your screen?
It's your screen. Otherwise every man and his dog would be complaining.

Dogs do not see the vast amount of 'colours' that we humans do. They probably won't be able to tell the difference between a HTC One X and a iPhone 2g
The dog probably wouldn't be complaining. Only the man.
Just sayin
Anyway I just flashed CM10 today and I don't have a problem with colors

i guess it's your display. i don't have any issues with any roms.
using CyanVivo X, no such issue . check ur screen with other roms
None of ICS-based ROMs has this issue. Virtuous Vivo, Blackout, Android Revolution, Bliss, stock - all ok.
I'm not sure that I know the true reason, but as HTC hasn't released 4.1 update for IncS, all JB ROMs now are ports from different devices with probably different screen. I guess that color balance can really vary between different phones to obtain nearly similar picture on the screens of different generations.
Would like to ask any and all JB rom users to post any and all usage with screen shots, using Battery saver or no battery saver and witch Rom you mighty be using....just basically a referance to see what Roms are using the most batt and if you are using a batt saver, compared to the ICS roms with their usage on batt performance....
Currently I'm running the PacMan version 1214 Jelly Bean on my Vivid, the battery life actually is a lot better than it was when I was running the stock att rom. Usually under light usage (some Facebook, Amazon MP3, about 200 texts), I had enough juice to last about 19 hours before I needed to charge. I don't use battery saver or anything like that, I'd post a screenshot of my battery stats, but for some reason the stats aren't available. I'll tinker with it a little and see if I can get a screenshot of it.
Don't have pictures for ya, but 12–14 hours with normal usage. 4 hours plus screen on time. It's worse than wcx, but better than stock.

Not too bad, it did pretty good with ICS too.

My battery seems to last the same, during normal usage, as ICS maybe an hour shorter, but it isn't very far from when I was using ICS
ROM
JB - Paranoid Android released on 12-20
ICS- Virtuous Inquisition
JB
The only thing that I have noticed is that the charging is really slow, approximiatly 1.5 % per hour when the phone is on standby. Powered off it jumps to 30-50% per hour. However with me being IT support I need to have my phone on as a rule.
ICS- charge in standby 20% approximately.
other notes.
during continous usage JB lasts a little longer, thus by comparison in standby it doesn't last as long.
Sorry that i dont have screen shots available, however there are the stats, if you have questions I am of course here to help.
One Power Guard. never use these type of apps but I decided to try it since battery didnt last as long with JB and i saw results
Was at work but used mobile data a bit made calls & texts and usually doesnt last this long i wou8ld have to charge when i got home
I'm in the process of tweaking my phone to perfection, just curious which audio mod is the best? PureXAudio, Viper4Android, or Beats? not much experience with the PureXAudio or Viper4Android

I have been using purexaudio (now called project ERA) for months and have not needed to try any other mods, I am still blown away by the difference it makes. I have tried using the mod with Beats turned off but for me sounds much better with it on. Viper4android let's you tweak your audio settings regardless of what mod (or stock) audio your using, I use it with project ERA. Viper is great for lowering the min volume setting (speaker optimization, I can't use the alarm without this being on) or raising the maximum (extra loud xtreme). Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Why the hell did they get rid of the zoe slider in the gallery app... scrubbing back and forth quickly through a sequence of photos was a pretty fun feature in some situations. My gears are grinding.
Just a quick update for everyone.

Wow, they're not wasting any time. It's already in certification stages, and we all know who'll be getting through that first. I wonder how long it'll take for Sprint to greenlight the build for us?
I'm excited. If it's anything like the ROMs that were released then we're in for a great surprise.

I'll withhold my comments regarding team venom based roms. With that said, this is a custom ROM, so this may very well be their own twist on it or a feel good feature or a modified version to get around the alleged hardware requirements. If it is a feature in SENSE 6.0 from HTC for the M7 though i will be thrilled.

As far as I know there isn't a hardware requirement for HTC extreme power saver since all it does is disable all background apps and disables mobile data. Samsung's power saver does have a hardware requirement for the black display saving power since that's for oled displays

Make an init.d script and put the following in it:
echo "0" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/online

Will this disable the core totally?
I am currently testing SetCPU and will see if this works.

How much screen on time do you get?
Did you use it all the time before capturing that screenshot or was it idle?

I did normal usage on it, or let's say the same as any other day. Using WhatsApp mostly. My stock ROM gives me at least 19h without using stamina mode, CM give me a good day from a new installation, but after day two I get this battery drain.

The next time it happens, take a screenshot like this, a screenshot of the graph when you first get into battery usage...and also take a screenshot of your screen on time (you get to it by tapping on "screen" in battery usage tab). Because if you get around 3:45 - 4:30 hours of screen on time, it's not bad battery life but actually maximum of what our phone can get.
