Sorry this if u already tried. Mixzing player.
Between the two first, I liked Realplayer, it is good, very clean layout.
Mixzing, never heard of it. I'll look, thx

I like TTPod ... Have Equalizer, beatifull widget and show lyric. In the night, set sleep time: 30 minutes. zzzZZZZZzz
Sorry no offence here. But i tried almost every player (free ones only).
Firstly user has to decide what i want? Sensational looks, great music ( bass, treble) .
What i learrn from ppl that they r not considering two major things which FORMATS does this player support? &equalizer quality.
So what i did, idownloaded some songs(Bollywood) from YouTube as a mp3 format. Then i tried all big name player in market. Guess what almost every player failed. That's why mixzing basic from Google play is my choice. Having said that if u don't care abt quality looking 4 looks show off there is one player i got impressed on Google play which has gestures control yes y read it right. U can actually forward next, previous, pause yr songs in it. Lol.

None taken.
About formats, I use only two, mp4 itunes plus or mp3. Others are crap.
Equalizer. To say, DSP Manager does it for me, bass, treble and things like this doesnt really matter since I use stock headphones most of the time.
About Sensor music player (is that the one youre talking about?), it kinda worked awful for me.
I downloaded Mixzing and TTPod, will test both.

My veredict :
TTPOD.
Awesome player, great and really fast beautiful, lyrics and artist art show up instantly, even in my 50kbps 2G connection.
Thanks guys, I recommend TTPOD from now on
EDIT : And to sleep, theres no need to set the timer if Im listening to Lana Del Rey

Hi Guys & gals.
Since VLC player has already been ported to iPhone 4, & the sources available for anyone to comile it for any other platform of his/her choice, what's stopping someone from porting it?
Advantages:
- dont bother about conversion, can play all.
- many others that are not apperent to me as of now .
The source code page - http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-sources.html
I know this thread doesn't belong in this forum, will be tossed to the appropriate one at appropriate time by appropriate people & I welcome it.
i still prefer mVideoPlayer
yeah, advantage "dont bother about conversion" is kinds pontless - we already can play everything.
would be cool if we could watch divx-streams
Thank you all for answering, but if its on iPhone 4 why not on my SGS?

same thing applies: we have something like mvideoplayer on SGS, why not on iPhone?
VLC uses software decoding/rendering to display movies. This sucks. Bad.
mVideoPlayer uses the on device codecs, which use the on device GPU to decode/render movies. This is way, way better.
So yeah, VLC can be ported, but I doubt anybody will put in the kind of insane work required when mVideoPlayer is available - with mVideoPlayer on an SGS being the best (by far) video solution for any mobile device available.
+1 for this

To be honest vlc suks big time even on windows. You can download many-many players that look better, work faster, have more options, play same amount of file types and do it faster.
Window media player classic is a good one. Search for CCCP on Google. I only use VLC for region locked DVDs.
VPlayer is good enough?

(unless you actually want the orange cone etc.)
+1 for Media Player Classic
The best one i've come across so far.
Thread moved to Q&A.
You can go to the VLC forum and see that they are working on it.

+1 for VLC.
mVideoPlayer does NOT play all formats, like .rm (Real Media Codec) which VLC does.

/I don't want it on my Galaxy S since it won't be h/w accelerated, but I think it's a damn good cross-platform player
Yes. Such as? I don't know of a better video player on windows than VLC. Please enlighten us all of one that is better.

Depends on your criteria. I personally prefer Media Player Classic Home Cinema with ffdshow.
now the gingerbread own player just can play mp
4 files, but i want to see some avi videos?
Rock player from memory supports both.
And, VPlayer.
Which Gingerbread rom are you using? I get constant fc's with rockplayer on MM's rom.
Vplayer works well for avi, havn't tried it for rmvb but it says it supports it in its description.
I've only used it on froyo but I assume it works on gingerbread also.
V player was great for Froyo but force closes on Gingerbread every time, at least for me..
Per the dev vplayer has not been formatted to work with gingerbread
Not sure if he will update or not but it says so in description on market that its not compatible
VPlayer FCs because of linkage errors (opencore/openmax - surfaceflinger)
Arc Media Player closes itself upon loading video... guess there's nothing supporting Gingerbread atm! *hint to devs*
Have been using arc media on CM7 without any problems

Glad to hear that. I've only recently purchased it
For some reason it closes the vid randomly. most times around 10 minutes mark.
Not buying yet, going to email the dev and ask. Bet you they ask that I buy first.
Hi there. I was just curious as to what music app you can call your main on your Xoom? Is it the stock music app or something else?
Personally my main music app is PowerAMP Premium. It has a sleek interface, many options to configure, a built in equalizer that just makes the songs sound fantastic, an auto download of album art feature, and it allows you to go through your music by the folders you have them in rather than just by album or artist only. It can't get much better than that in my opinion. I only wish it had visualizations much like windows media player on a desktop. Come to think of it... I don't think I have seen a music app on the market that has music visualizations built into it. Is there a such thing right now?
So do you have another music app as your main? Or do you have the same one like I do? Share with us.
poweramp is definitely the must have music app for anyone who loves listening to music on their xoom so many features its worth the money
Personally I use Subsonic on every Android device I own.
Winamp is not bad for free. Album art grabber work's pretty well too

Fully agree. Have all my music on my computer anywhere in the world is just too good. If Google does eventually release their cloud service I may switch, but subsonic is just BOSS. I wouldn't recommended it to any not tech user but this is xda...

Mort player its in beta but its good try it out and I know for a paid app power amp works awesome don't know if its compatible with the xoom should be.

I got 20gb from Amazon, so I just uploaded all my music to the cloud and I'm using their cloudplayer. Works nicely, although it did take a few days for me to upload 18gigs of music. I don't have much of an upload speed :-/
Maybe it's just me, but I'm really digging the tablet music app. On my Nexus One I use PlayerPro.
I really don't use the Xoom for music anyways. I did add about 8 or 9 gb of my favorite music but so far, I hardly make use of it. Only time I listen to music is in my car (Nexus One to car stereo), or when I'm in my home office.
Definitely Audiogalaxy. It allows me to stream any of the 7,500+ music files (mostly FLAC) on my home PC to any of my android devices.
been using amazon cloud player on my xoom, easy way to keep most of my library accessible to me no matter where I am. right now I have like 8GB of songs on amazon cloud player, but even so I primarily use my Zune HD and zune pass for most of my music.
If you want a really cool and unique looking app check out cube (superscript 3) It has a very interesting UI and some neat add-ons like new releases and local live shows from artists in your library. But I also have the paid PowerAMP app
[sent with Xooming Android technology]
MusicPlayer Pro!
Azrael X 4.0
how about this... I would like to upload all my music to my website/FTPsite, is there a good app that will stream the music from there?
Pandora for me... I don't have much of a music collection
Power Amp fo sho! Well worth the money!
So far so good! Lots of good opinions and lots of good options. Some are using PowerAMP, some use a syncing method from computer to device, while others don't have much music and just stream from the internet. Good stuff! Keep 'em coming!
On a side note I do love to stream internet radio all the time. My app of choice for streaming Shoutcast stations is called XiiaLive, which was formerly know as DroidLive. I like the feel and look of it. I heard someone say Pandora as well... gotta love the Pandora!

What about subsonic? I havent tested it on a xoom but would be nice if someone tried it, you basically turn your pc into the server and your phone can access any songs in the library over a network connection 3G/wifi

Be careful with Pandora. They harvest and sell personal data:
http://socialtimes.com/pandora-under-investigation-for-sharing-your-personal-information_b55812
Im using Rhapsody. $15 a month unlimited music, 3 mobile devices authorized, (I use it on my OG Droid too) and it shares the library with those devices, and PC. You can download your playlists for offline playback which is great since I don't pay for 3G service on Xoom. Has radio playlists but probably not as good as pandora, but it doesn't steal your identity.
I was using Zunepass, but since this is my main device especially in my car, Zune has become irrelevant. Zune has nicer software, but doesn't have the library media mirroring like Rhapsody.
Not to mention there's no way to use it on an android device.
Since I too own very little music, rental services are great. I got scared by illegal downloads back when my University started identifying students to the RIAA (down and up speeds were unreal on campus, esp. after hours, they eventually capped them after I left) and they were being sued for $3000 per song! I figured the risk wasn't worth the reward.

I use stock music app on the xoom. And doubletwist on my nexus one. I like doubletwist for its stability and simpleness.

I have CM7.02 and I downloaded MP4 movies and I got shocked that none of the movies play more than 1 hour 11 minutes and 30 seconds .. after that pictures go on but sound play from the beginning of the movie ..
I changed the player but still the same ,tried the same movies on other android phones it works perfect ..
I still don't know is it the Rom ,or the phone or if it can be fixed .
Please let me know ...

Check out VPlayer Advanced I've watched an Isle of Man TT race on there before (3hrs) for a long plane ride.
Only issue I had at the time was the screen would time out.
btw.. you might get flamed by others for posting this in the Dev section haha
Edit: I forgot to add that the Isle of Man TT video was an .mp4

EDIT: MOD PLEASE MOVE TO THE HERO CDMA Q N A SECTION THANKS ....
EDIT 2: Also I use vplayer and it works flawlessly It could also just be the video player which you haven't told us what specific one you're using...How large is the video? Use a video converter and make it a bit smaller by making it 3gp (though you'll lose quality a bit) Also did you try another rom that isn't 2.3.3? Try aosp froyo and see if that works. There are many possible solutions to your answer. Just throwing out a few.
Thank you soooo much guys its working great God bless

I taken you mean ROM! IF your aim is Hi end music, app is more important than ROM! app (ie Meridian player) that support uncompressed format like flac, instead of the inferior mp3 format!
I think the stock original ROM doesn't support flac, you may have to install custom Rom like CM7 to get support for native flac!
i want to find rom cause it has a lot system app so it is more pro.i used power amp, player pro, walk man.ttpod,...so i don't really like theme.i'm using cm7 and i flashed beataudio but i need a pro rom for my lossless music.help.i love music so much.
Please write ROM instead of room. It hurts my eyes.
Use the search button to find Beats Audio and xLoud. They are also available for the X8. You can find music players on the Play Store.
thanks.i make a mistake.ROM ,not room.
my phone had xloud and beat but don't have beataudio app(it's a music player).cant u share ?
