Hi im wondering if anyone has got the OTA update from Verizon. They said they would release the update in quarter 3 which is this month, next month, or the month after that.

Any news on the lollipop update for stock at&t galaxy s5?
I tried talking to a rep and he said there's not clue of an update anytime soon.

I'm getting tired or waiting too! I spoke to an ATT rep last week through online chat who said they had no exact date but did say the rumor around there was sometime within the next 3 months. :fingers-crossed:

Next 3 months? that's some long time
My 2 year plan will be up in Sept. so I will be eligible for a phone upgrade with a new contract. I was thinking about getting an S5 (have an S3 currently), but see that they have locked down the bootloader pretty hard in Lollipop & anyone who took the OTA is pretty much screwed as far as downgrading goes.
My question is, what is the likelihood that come September a new (not a refurb) S5 will or will not come with Lollipop already installed? And if it does, is it the same as OTA in which the bootloader is locked? Or is it different if it comes pre-installed?
Thanks!
Yes, a new phone is guaranteed to have lollipop and it is the same as ota. You will not be able to root a new phone, period. Once updates come out, all new phones have that update so if you want root then you will have to look for used that hasn't been updated or buy a different model.

I just got my AT&T S5 in May and it is an OA1 running KitKat. I was able to ignore the OTA and eventually get to a lollipop custom rom. I bought my S5 from Amazon Wireless.
People seem to be still getting them with OA1, but won't last long.

............. I have seen a few too............ Unfortunately this guy says he won't be upgrading till September, by then they all will probably be 5.0 but also by then we might have root............
I received my S5, roughly 1 month ago. My buddy got first pone in mail, it had 5.0 pre-installed. I got the 2nd phone, mine had 4.4 KK. Both are 900A (ATT).
Does anyone have any clue as to when at&t will push marshmallow to the s6 edge?
At&t isn't known to be a fast-updates-provider. When lollipop 5.1.1 was released, at&t was the last carrier to bring the OTA for s6 edge. We can't know when it'll be available, but personally, I don't expect this to happen any time soon

Thanks, hopefully soon. I've been patiently waiting since Samsung released 6.0. At&t kinda sucks in my opinion due to locked bootloaders and slow ota releases .

Totally agree! AT&T can't suck more just because it's not bigger!
Still no updates on the ota update?

Just ordered the International 6GB version this morning and I had a question about updates.
I've read that different versions can get their updates at different times., and that sometimes a particular version might be well behind the others. I'm wondering if I should flash the U.S. firmware when I get the phone or if it's better to leave it with the one it comes with.
I'm on Straight Talk (using AT&T towers), so I'm not getting any of the VoLTE service in any regard, so the only reason to do this would be to get a firmware that has timely updates.
Any thought from those who've had the phone for a while?
I would leave it as is unless your compelled to change it. I'm on the H9493 TW version and still on February's patch. Some regions have moved to March already. It will come in the next few weeks.

Thanks for the reply. I had heard that the H9493 was a bit behind in other regions, but if it's only by a few weeks or so then I'm not too concerned. If it was more like a couple of months behind, then I would maybe look at flashing another region's firmware.
Looking forward to getting the phone. Was really tempted to last year, but the price kept me away. Now though, I picked up a brand new one on Amazon for only $629, which I believe is still cheaper than the U.S. model, surprisingly!).
I flashed the US firmware when I received mine (mainly for the T-Mobile VoLTE) and it gets updated pretty quickly. It has been a week or more since the March update came. Other than somewhat faster updates, I'm not sure if there will be any benefits for you though.

Yeah, I'm thinking I'll just hold off, since it sounds like the updates come fairly quickly, even if not at exactly the same time.
Well, we're a week into May and I'm still on the February patch.
Got to say, I'm not too impressed with Sony's update policy, at least for this version of the phone. Here's hoping something comes through sooner rather than later.
H9493 TW is already on the April patch

If it's the TW H9493 then something is up.
I received 52.0.A.8.14 on April 10 and 52.0.A.8.25 on April 30, both OTA

Yes, it's the H9493. I haven't received any updates since the initial one when I first got the phone.

Which, I take it, operates on a different update schedule than the rest of the H9693 models?
What a mess. If I didn't already have the phone set up the way I'd like, I'd just install a different regions firmware. Still may have to think about doing that as it doesn't look like I'll get any updates anytime soon.
They are all over the place with them because some get held up based on region. I had a few HK variants over the years and they did eventually catch up. The OEM updates frequently but the methodology is fractured.

Thanks for the info. I still may flash a different regional firmware if I have time this weekend. While it's a pain, it might be the best thing in order to get timely updates. I'll have to research the method to do it (I believe you can do it using Sony's own software), and whether this will wipe the microSD card as well as the phone data.
Sony software will only flash same regional software. You will need to use Newflasher. Read the instructions, it's not difficult..

I agree I'm not a big fan of T-Mobile splash screen
We in South Africa will get the Pie update only next month (July 2019). I asked for a official confirmation, but is so much a peep from them. My model is LM-V405EB.

Vodacom device Pie update already rolling out.
I have a Vodacom device but use it on Telkom. I further asked LG about the Pie update and they promised a response but up to now there is nothing.
I'm on T-mobile stateside and received Pie last week.
Sprint just pushed an update to their v40. They pushed the June security patch....They pushed a monthly security patch weeks after every other carrier has started pushing Pie. What an absolute farce.
