Im doubting this, but i personally love sense, it just adds some polish to the device. Senseless ROMS always feel just that bit too raw i think.

Best Sense 3.5 ROM?

So I've went back and forth from CM7 to Sense countless times and I finally realized that CM7 just isnt my thing. Sense although is much more battery and memory aggressive, is just more flashy and user friendly, which i like. And as 'one of those guys' I seem to like to stay on top of sense, so which is the best sense 3.5 rom in your opinion. Could be bliss or runnymede, I don't care but just let me know.
Nik trinity runny. Flash it. No further discussion.

Tested it, it's working on the Incredible S, but animation is a bit lagged (i'd say something between 15-18fps). besides that, it's working properly, touch responsive and all.

works fine and looks great. thx for sharing.
but i always have the feeling that live wallpapers (in general) make my phone a bit laggy. scrolling between homescreens isnt that smooth like on normal wallpapers.
tested it on different sense roms

Very beautiful, though there's a tiny miny miny part of lag, buh it actually doesn concerns as hardly noticeable on daily usage.
On Virtuous Affinity 2.05, mind you I'm a very heavy user

You should see how live wallpapers look well on ICS. Sadly it's not going to happen with this one.

[Q] Which ROM with Sense 3.6 should I chose?

Hi
I wanna know, which ROM with Sense 3.6 is the best for my Sensation XL.
What do u think? Which one do u use?
You are free to use any. All of them are fine. And I am using senseless rom because I got bored from sense UI

Insanely cool sense is the best choice (until their next release of CM9, of course )

[Q] New member seeking opinion

Hi everyone, I'm a HTC Incredible S user (stock) from Australia that has been increasingly frustrated with HTC support (lack of stock update to ICS due to carrier, Virgin Mobile), so I decided to take the matter to my own hand.
Question been: I have been browsing around the forum for various ROM to flash (read the important notices and all such), but one question come to mind... since I am using Go Launcher (free version, got sick with stock HTC sense) what are the con for said launcher? Is it recommended to replace stock/ROM launchers with it?
Thanks everyone for helping out.
It's up to you, I don't like Sense <=3.6 either.
I think the more popular launchers here on XDA are Nova and Apex.
The cons are that the Sense launcher will continue to use up memory as a system service but that can now be stopped using this.
Launchers are mostly for customization. Go launcher is among the best available to replace stock launcher. If you're going to root your device then you'll have the liberty to choose whether you want a sense based rom or just plain vanilla rom (rom without sense framework and interface).
As of my experience, I'm liking apex launcher for its simplicity and ease of use, but if you are willing to spend some bucks, i would recommend tsf launcher, nice eye candy yet still not a burden to system resources.

+1 for Apex - I like how you can change the name and icon for the app in the home screen among other customisations all for free.
Some apps in Google Play are great but their icons are sh1te
Thanks for suggestions guys! Much appreciated!
Just one more question to ask: which ROM is the best recommended to go for right now? I was thinking Nik's JB ROMs, but half afread the phone might not be able to run it smoothly (store mobile Incredible S with stock ICS update lag like hell...)
Thanks very much.
EDIT: opps forgot to mention, without HTC sense...
Smoothest experience and best battery/performance close to stock:
ARHD or The Second Sun rom
Nonverbose's kernel
ultrasmooth rosie
v6 supercharger
Andrev daemon
Project butter hacks
I agree with markj on his suggested rom and tweaks. If you're looking for non sense rom, give nik's jb rom a try.
EDIT : you tried that, my bad the rom still new, nik will further polish it in the future for sure
Personally, for plain-non sense-ics rom, i prefer icecoldsandwich together with those tweaks (minus kernel) mentioned.

I had the same experience as you when I updated with the OTA stock ICS update... almost hurled my phone at the wall with the lags and rubbish battery life.
IceColdSandwich worked well for me but I'm now using CodeName JB (I like to roll with the cool kids) and both have been very smooth, the latter much more so IMO.
A thing to note if you are snap happy - the camera quality in AOKP/AOSP ROMs will not be as good as Sense ones. Just something I noticed as well as others in XDA.

sense 4.1 senseless

Is there any dev willing to make a sense 4.1 senseless rom once we have a "legit" sense 4.1 Rom out on the vivid?

Why? The whole point of senseless was for an aosp experience
We now have working aosp Roms...so senseless is kinda pointless imho
Besides a senseless sense 4.1 will be identical to the current sense 3.6 senseless rims available...since all new and old sense features would be removed

I think what would make the mose sense (no pun intended) here would be to get CM9 rocking. I've played around with trying to get CM9 to build for Holiday. I ran into issues with the kernel being too new... I could likely fix it, but it would take me time. One of these days I might try again with the source from Faux's kernel or something.

Well since senseless roms are still based off of htc framwork wouldn't it be a little different?
I am talking about the sense 4.1 camera and apps that are usually in senseless roms. I love Aosp but i also love htc's camera app...

Ahhhhh...now I see lol. Um sure its a high possibility...especially if the right person wants it (dev) they'll do it them self.or if there's enough demand I'm sure a dev will pick it up

I say we find out what was left in that last sense 4 ROM that was posted and finish removing it. Then make a sense/senseless version lol
