I just bought a used Blue Angel and everything seems to be working perfectly except the main buttons (up/down/left/right).
It is possible that it's a simple matter of cleaning the contact-surface under the buttons, since they work sometimes.
But how do I do this? I have tried removing the two torx buttons on the side, but do I need to remove the back ones too just to get the buttons removed in the front?
If anybody could help me I would be forever grateful for 5 minutes.

i just bought one used and dropped with two screws broke/ missing. The slider is also Sticking on my as is one button. it's been pretty heavily used. I'm getting ready to do a complete tear down and rebuild testing some connections and cleaning everything as i go along. I'll post a guide this weekend as i do it.
I'll be delighted to look at it!

Dirt can accumulate in between the fascia and the rubber buttons, try cleaning with an old *slightly* damp toothbrush inbetween the grooves before diss-assembly.
To get to the buttons, you need the back off, board out to reveal two smaller torx screws holding the LCD assembly to the slide. Remove these 2 and the 2 usually visible with the slide up, and prise the lcd housing away from the slide from the bottom edge. There are then some small philips screws holding the front fascia buttons in place.
If you need a new fascia keypad I have them listed here:

Does anyone know how to open the battery cover of Tilt?
Seriously?
You push on the cover, then push up, away from the buttons...
haha thanks alot, never thought it was that easy
I had to look in the manual the first time
It's easy, but if you don't press at the right place it won't move

Unfortunately, I am one of those stuck here. I bought my Kaiser (AT&T branded Tilt) three days ago. I even have an image illustrating where to push but the thing will not move. I tried pressing lightly, very hard... still nothing.
Any hints?

Yep, keep trying ... you press more or less in the center upwards - use 2 thumbs if you have to!
do you people ever try something first, then post?

It can be very stiff when new. The fingers of each hand are just to steady the phone. The thumbs do not need to be pressed hard into the battery cover. The force should be directed in the direction of the arrow in your picture. If it does not budge, do not press harder onto the battery cover but apply more push in the arrow direction.

I think a friend of mine found the way to open his iphone... by having it fly out of his hand and land on a concrete ground on the edge. The faceplate is sticking out 1mm and he can't get it back in place.. luckily no functional damange though, pretty impressive
I just realized how difficult it is to open the battery cover after you've inserted the battery. Anyone having trouble with it or am I just a huge failure? I don't want to push and wrench away at it in fear of breaking the thing, what with it being plastic.

Try applying pressure nearer to the bottom of the phone and push away from you. You scaredy cat
Yeah, you have to apply pressure at the right place (at the center near the bottom) but it can be really difficult to open sometimes. At first I thought I'd get a spare battery to be able to switch when one is empty, but I can't see myself opening the phone every other day, I'm pretty sure I would break it eventually...

Every time I apply pressure it makes this sound like it's about to break. D: And I keep getting the feeling I'm going to crack the screen. I'll flash damn near anything all day long, but breaking the thing physically scares the daylight out of me.
No success, btw. Either I'm not pressing in the right place or not pressing hard enough. Swear to god I opened the thing multiple times the first day I got it (after the battery was in, no less) since I got the SIM card in the wrong way. Now it's tight as... well, very tight. Plastic isn't supposed to expand, damn it.

the trick is to handle the phone at its sides, that way you wont risk breaking your screen. So apply preesure at the sides of the battery door and push with both thumbs.
Here's how to do it properly.
Hold the phone, using both hands, between index fingers and thumbs, so that the thumbs are just above the silver (engraveable) strip in the back. Bring the thumbs in toward the center line of the phone.
Angle your index fingers a bit, so that the pressure is applied not at the screen but the edges of the device. Curl the index fingers so that the upper half of the fingers are pointing toward your body and are positioned alongside the edges of the device.
Now, with your thumbs, push in and up. It helps if fingertips are nice and dry
I get the very same feeling of just how fragile it seems to be when trying to pop the cover off
This is not a problem I've ever had. It just slides off; what the heck are you people trying to do to your poor battery covers? ^_^

Harry, it's only a problem for the original poster
Guess I'm just a clumsy ****. It kind of moved a little bit when I tried what you guys said, but otherwise unless I'm willing to go at it with my nails, I should probably ask someone else to do it.
On the other hand, no dust under my screen! The tightness of the battery cover might as well be why.
I find sticking your fingernail in the little slot where the speaker is and dragging back from there helps. I also get the feeling im going to crack the screen when im pressing hard on the phone, its scary stuff!
Try this, hold your phone in your left hand facing down with your index finger and thumb just on the sides of the phone just above the capacitive buttons. Then place the ball of your right palm on the back of the cover and push up while applying a little force, it should open pretty easily.

YES. This did the trick fantastically. It seems so simple now, I've no idea how I kept doing it wrong.

I rarely, if ever, read manuals. But it's not as if I had trouble removing the battery cover the first day (especially since I had to do it several times as my SIM card was inserted the wrong way in).
So as the title says : my phone fell in the toilet... (i know so dumb)
Its already 1 week after the incident, i first waited 3 days to turn it on. Which it still does, actually everything works! :good:
But the only downside is that my screen is doing some crazy things.
So now my real question is if i replaced the LCD screen with something like this https://www.amltelecom.com/kleinhandel/products/Display-LCD-LG-P990-Optimus-Speed-2x.html would my display be normal again or is maybe a chip inside also corroded so the new screen will have the same issues too?
I tried making a screenshot on cm7 and when i looked at it on my pc, it didn't show the striped and flickers.
So what i think is that theres some water behind the screen wich makes it flicker all the time.
So what do you guys think about it?
Anyone had some expierence with water damage?
Hope you guys can help me!:highfive:
Thanks all!
Atheoran
My usb port is having some issues too now, sometimes it does work and sometimes it doesn't...
Even if I let it stick in the same position sometime it does work and after some time it won't some I'm guessing replacing my usb connector too would have some effect.

Hi there!
I don't know about the water damage. I would take the phone completely apart and let it dry like that for a few days. But again, no experience in that.
With the USB connector, I had this with my phone once I thought, turned out to be the USB cable, and not my connector. Be sure to test with other cables first before replacing your USB connector.
Hope it helps!

Why don't you try taking the phone to the service centre and see what they have to say. If they can fix it out by service then you might save money and they are professional's.
All the best and i hope it does not hurt your pocket more.

I can recommend the second one (first seems very long).
Difficult steps:
1. remove digitizer with bezel (frame) from case, use credit card (preferably old one),
2. avoiding dust between digitizer and lcd screen - use gloves, and
3. putting back digitizer and bezel - start with fitting micro-usb input while checking all buttons. Be careful, micro-usb entrance easily gets damaged!
Furthermore, I recommend to put wrap around all your toilets
Good luck

Mine definitely isn't loose at all. There's no wiggle room in any direction. Tapping lightly doesn't nothing, but pressing firmly gives a nice solid click, just as you would expect.
I'd exchange it through TMO before your window closes. That is, if it bothers you (and it would bother me).

they're all like this. have yet to come into contact with one where there isn't at least a slight bit of movement vertically. i believe this was intended and how it was designed.
@whittikins might want to try putting on glasses and check again. it's an extremely tiny bit of movement, very hard to see unless you're really looking for it.

OP didn't have to look for his. He said that tapping it lightly makes it move and is loose. Mine doesn't and is not loose at all. The only movement I can get is by pressing just enough to not click it and putting pressure up/down (toward the top/bottom of the screen). I can detect a slight movement, but it's silent and not at all like OP describes. Pushing against the edge of the button with my fingernail in any direction doesn't result in any movement. I have to be pressing down and purposely pushing it sideways to see anything.

i was essentially confirming to everyone that there should at least be slight movement vertically (that's up and down) without any noise and without actually clicking the button.
OP needs to exchange his/her device.

My home button is firm but it does wiggle a bit.
But whats bothering the most is the battery life!
I also have a black one and just picked it up Sunday here is Australia. I have taken it back and had it replaced as the Mobile provider agreed that it was a fault. The new one now also has the same issue.
I have also found a video on youtube that shows the noise that it makes as it is so loose. www dot youtube dot com/watch?v=Y5FoWeDGQZ4 (not able to post link as I am new)
Contacting Samsung customer support was not much use but they said that it can be sent in to look at but will be charged if no fault it found. I believe it to be Faulty.
this is a massive hassle to be without a phone for who knows how long... not impressed.

Same issue here. The left side of the home button rattles a little bit when i press lightly on it. Should i exchange or is it normal?
I got the 32GB S6 in Black.
My Button wiggles too when i slightly move it up and down, not much but it bother me a lil bit.
Problem is: i rooted my phone and after that the problem occured...
I dont know if they would see the Knox Trigger, cuz its a Materialfault and im in the first 14 Days(Got it 2 Days now).
Maybe i will live with it.I didnt pay for it.
