BOCA OS
Hello all,
I have a fantastic little operating system code named: BOCA
the latest incarnation is called BOCA MSI
(latest SGT7 thread located here)
I began building and creating this nifty little system for the SGT7, around a year ago from scratch, & it was received extremely warmly and to high praise.
At one time, it was supported on over 12 devices, but alas life took over.
As anyone who has a SGT7, and has used my work, knows that I am VERY passionate about this OS, and work frequently on it.
A few months ago my SGT7 broke, and recently a kind user sent me a SAMSUNG VIBRANT, with the wish I bring BOCA here.
If you would like to be a tester for this 2.3.7 based work, and anything else I create/port (a quick glance at my sig will show some of my ports)
Please contact me on GTALK @ [email protected]
(kindly remember to mention you are a vibrant user, this is important!!!!!!)
ALL TESTERS NEED TO KNOW LOGCAT, HEIMDALL and be familiar with flashing custom roms, and have the ability to troubleshoot small minor brew-ha-ha-s that might arise.
I have not yet built a BOCA MSI (vibrant) kernel, there are quite a bit of changes to be made there, but any aosp/cm7 kernel will work on my rom.
This will be the release thread, so PLEASE keep the reply's to a minimum, encompassing mostly feature requests, and users who created something and would like to have it in the rom.
examples are:
tweakr, created by waaydownsouth - availible in only mexdroid and BOCA roms.
The boot animation - created by dakra & team, as a request
tinyshmem - modded and discovered by ronis_br
theme - created by gojimi and myself with input from users.
BOCA has always been about community made tweaks, if you have anything (upon approval) that you made or tweaked, Im more than happy to add it in)
Hope to see you all very soon!!!!
......and as always, I am not responsible for pixies declaring war and destroying your device.
OR a horny transformer falling in love, and attempting to make your droid its vibrant love slave .

(will be moved soon)

Now that I have a working device (a vibrant) I can take a full set of picks that better displays the rom and features (other than performance) that make BOCA different.
Hold tight.
I'm still adjusting and molding it down to better fit the vibrant.
and cherry picking some if the best gerrit additions
Early tester reports of just rom, no BOCA kernel built yet, say it is performing very well.
And providing great performance. Less sluggish and memory leaks aren't so apparent for games and videos. Multitasking seems snappier.
Plus they LOVE how user tweakable it is.
(Two of my testers have a vibrant and a tab, so testing should go quickly and smoothly. Plus I like that they can compare performances of the same rom on different devices)
And I agree that performance is great so far
I watch alot of video and am a big gamer
Special note.
I do not like compairing works with others, but if they have a fix or feature you like, contact them and I, and we will see if it can be added to BOCA.
Upon original creators granting permission
Second special note.
the name of the works (BOCA) describes it well. Based Off Cyanogen & Aosp

So you basically edit the code yourself right? your not porting but building from source and you can add stuff to the code right? damn I can't wait

No, BOCA is not a port, per say. Based of cyanogen, yes. But I, with early help from spacemoose1, ported cyanogen sourcecode about a year ago, for the Sgt (seperate from the great works of technomancer-who is super supportive and an awesome person)
Over the next year, I created my own sourcecode, from cyanogen and Aosp, to create a different expierence but still have features like tablet tweaks and cmparts. Be very user tweakable, stable and quick.
Some additions are created by me, and some added with special permissions.
Next is build a kernel. Got some goodies for that also.
Special note on mount points.
Mounts on my works are as follows.
phone storage 1
Sdcard
&
Sdcard/External sd
No more of that emmc crap, this setup works better for apps and file explorers. Emmc is generally a root location and requires a root enabled app to navigate there.
And I prefer it this way.

This looks nifty ^^

Welcome welcome. Great to have you aboard!

Rom out with testers.
Cleaning up theme
Starting BOCA MSI (vibrant) kernel builds.
Looking good.
And loving dead trigger high end graphics.
(Vibrant to TV. PS controller to vibrant. Butt on couch, rocking dead trigger. Enjoying)

I have a "dev" Vibrant if you would like a tester.

*The kernel stuffs relate to the SGT7, but i hope to bring it all here also!!
cheers!

Confirmed install procedure
1) download MSI & current gb gapps and place on sdcard
2) boot into recovery & factory reset, clear cache and dalvik cache.
3) Flash in MSI then gapps
4) reboot & profit..
A) stock cm7 kernel will be included,
but any cm7 kernel will boot my work. I will be making an MSI vibrant kernel also.

If coming from ICS or JB you must likely have to follow the installation instructions reboot which will be a boot loop, boot into recovery and perform installation again

INFAMOUS OPEN SOURCE PROJECT
(IOSP)
This is a VERY new project, that will grow and span across multiple devices and Android versions over time. This particular release is the first one under the IOSP name. Each IOSP rom that our team releases will be built entirely from source, with our own hand-picked tweaks and enhancements baked in throughout the process of preparing a ROM for general release. We're learning a lot as we go and hope that you will enjoy what we can crank out!
This has taken the better part of 2 months for me to research, learn, build, soft brick, re-build, re-build again, cry, re-build and finally get this. I really hope you enjoy using this as much as I do - it has become my DD.
MANY THANKS GO TO:
- Jamison904, THE Infamous developer and fearless leader. Rock on bro, this is gonna be exciting!!
- The other members of Team Infamous - shnn2011, jookdakang23, and Blesstheattack. A super talented group of which I am proud to be a member!
- pershoot - a GENIUS and huge source of inspiration! His work with this device has been uncanny.
- The entire Cyanogenmod team for inspiration and innovation in Androidland
- zepplinrox for the included scripts, that let your device run the way it was designed to run
- The entire XDA Developers community for providing tools, knowledge, and support
All right, enough with the sappy stuff. Let's get down to business.
Code:
#include
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* This is an ALPHA ROM. Its target audience is stronger users at this
* time. It is VERY stable, but may not be entirely noob-friendly right
* now. If you are inexperienced, it may be better to wait a
* couple of releases!! We'll get there though. :)
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
By using the rom you agree with the above terms!
- COMPLETELY built from AOSP (Google) source code for Android 4.0.4 - this is a "from scratch" ROM.
- Slim, smooth, fast. The way Google intended. This is as pure and simple as Android should be.
- pershoot's 3.1.10 kernel from CM9 and all its benefits - OC to 1400MHz, USB charging, and a huge list of other wonderful things. Check out Droid Basement for details on this kernel, and all of pershoot's current projects.
- Pre-rooted
- SuperSU
- Busybox
- Zipaligned
- Init.d support
- Live Wallpaper support
- Face Unlock works great (use Pattern as alternate, see Bugs section)
- Hand selected build.prop tweaks for UI optimization, improved Wifi performance, touchscreen response, and video playback
- Replaced default wallpaper with a minimalistic, texturized slick look.
- The following scripts from zepplinrox have been placed under xbin/scripts for you to use to tweak your ROM out!!! Read this. Use SManager from Play Store to execute these.
* V6 Supercharger!! (this has been tested and is of course FANTASTIC. Use setting 9 for minfrees!)
* KickAssKernelizer (this is awesome)
* Die-Hard Battery Calibrator (this is also awesome)- GooManager ready right out of the gate. As updates are released, you will receive OTA notification! TWRP is the recommended recovery and you can install it directly with this app. GO GET IT!! I will bake it into the next release for convenience's sake.
Code:
Change log:
02.01.2013 - Initial Release. See above.
There is some stuff to be aware of, yes. I told you it was an alpha.
- With every reboot, the ROM will enable physical keyboard as default...effectively rendering the soft keyboard inoperable. DON'T PANIC! On first boot, SKIP THE WIFI CONNECTION AND GMAIL ACCOUNT SETUP. Go straight into the ROM, go into Settings > Language & Input, and set the default keyboard to AOSP Keyboard. Then look for a keyboard icon on the status bar...click on it, and set the toggle for "Use Physical Keyboard" to OFF. This will give you the soft keyboard and away you go! I am working to determine how to resolve this with the source and will try to provide a fix in a future update.
- Gmail may force close when you download it. Go to settings - accounts and sync - your Google account and check off 'sync Gmail'. Wait 30 seconds and you should be good.
- As a result of the above...DO NOT USE PIN UNLOCK!! A reboot will lock your tab and you won't be able to unlock it again. Use pattern or swipe...and if you use Face Unlock use Pattern as your alternate for now.
- Wallpaper scrolling may be a bit screwy. Using a different launcher to prevent wallpaper scrolling covers this problem up nicely. Nova Launcher is SERIOUSLY recommended...and the V6 Supercharger will "supercharge" the launcher beautifully for you!
- There is no baked in camera app at this time. I'm working on a port to be included for the next release. All the drivers for both cameras are there and function correctly though - just download "Camera ICS" from the Play Store and you'll have a camera (although it'll probably have some ads...ad blocker being considered for upcoming release)
- No advanced power menu at this time. There is no built in reboot option as it stands today, and various power menu mods I have attempted have not been fruitful as of yet. That will take me a bit more time but I'm committed to providing that! Use ROM Toolbox Lite to gain access to 4 way reboot capability in the meantime.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Full wipe is a MUST coming from ANY ROM. If you haven't done a full wipe, wipe before complaining... and TWRP is RECOMMENDED! You get that cool OTA support with TWRP.
- Take a NANDROID of your current ROM
- Wipe Cache
- Wipe Dalvik
- Factory Reset
- Wipe System
- Flash the ROM
- Flash the official Gapps ICS 4/29/2012 package - Get it here.
- Reboot and enjoy!

Appreciate this man! I'm going to work this ROM for awhile....plus I'm cooking up a Jellybean buddy for it too just want to put some time into ICS too. It runs so well I can't help but push it as far as I am able. This project has been a great learning experience!!

Gmail works but you may need to turn the sync on. Install Gmail, go to settings - accounts and sync - your gmail acct and check off 'sync Gmail'. Wait 30 seconds and try again...you should be in no problemo

I forgot one other important point...DO NOT USE PIN UNLOCK!!
If you reboot, the keyboard locks as I mentioned, and you'll have no way to type in your password.
Use swipe or pattern. Face Unlock works very well, but use Pattern as your alternate if you do so!
The keyboard thing is really the most pesky thing I need to solve. Everything else shouldn't be all that hard to straighten out. Thank you guys so much for running this ROM! I poured everything into it and I'm definitely not done yet.

Enjoy brother. I'm no pro but I'm running this thing daily and it stands up like a champ for everything major. Plus I'll work as hard as I can when i can to fix problems you guys find, just need users...that's my biggest thing right now with this project. Thanks for the look, let me know if you run into any weird stuff...but I think you'll find it runs snappy and clean especially after a V6 treatment.

This one is interesting. Tried a couple of browsers and same result. It looks like the audio works just fine but the picture doesn't always appear, logcats aren't too helpful either yet...
What browser are you using?

Nov-24
* Releasing a build that is pretty stable for this device anyways. This will probably be the last build for this device.
April-24
* Lots of CM related changes obviously.
* Pretty sure there were a few decent bug fixes since the last release but nothing major
* NOTE: this is just the 4/24 nightly so if you are on that no reason to update. just seems stable to me so meh...
Jan-15
* dsp: possible fix for low in-call volume (credit: malevolentman87)
* Kernel: Re-enabled some CPU Governors that got disabled during ION bringup
* Tried to fix MMS issues some people were having
* Synced with CM
Jan-12
* Fixed camcorder crashing after first recording by increasing PMEM SMI size in kernel
* Fixed apps not installing to sdcard
* Updated GPU drivers to be in sync with samsung msm8660 common 3.0 kernel
* Use prebuilt camera app from older build (recent changes for features supported only by new devices has caused issues. so really no harm in using an old one since our device doesn't support features updated)
Jan-10
* Updated gapps link....
Dec-30
* Added a nightly link for unofficial builds, starting with one today!
*** I'm going to leave the main download link to the Dec-10 build still as I am still testing things with camera
Dec-10
** Happy Holidays **
* Kernel: we now have ION support with working camera! this is the holy grail of kernel features
* Black browser is fixed
* Runs a lot faster due to ion
* Video recording is broken right now (pictures work and VoIP should work as well) it just won't save the recording. I'm working on it
* A crapload of updates from CM
Nov-14
* Fixed freeze with SIM card inserted (sorry i have a micro so i didnt test)
* Fixed permissions with sdcard and some apps (Titanium backup)
* Fixed sensors (partially)
* Upstream updates
Nov-13 - Initial release
notable changes since last build:
* Android 4.4 KitKat!
* CM-11
* Tried to fix struggling data once more...
NOTICE: i will be losing my build server at the end of the month, without it my productivity will be decreased greatly. the person who was allowing me to use it can't pay for it anymore by himself. Donations would REALLY really help. but are not required by ANY MEANS. /end PSA
ChronicKernel
Kernel now based on Bruce's kernel with a few changes by me, including:
* ION Support
* Compiled with linaro
* Set flash to disable if battery is below 10% to prevent the random shut-off when taking a pic
* Removed/Disabled KSM
* Removed ZRAM
* User-configurable GPU OC (Not OC'd by default)
* Optimized and compiled with with the "Optimize a lot, or -o3 option)
* Added more I/O schedulers
* Tweaked voltages a bit
* Reverted CRT hack to smooth animation in Android 4.4
* PM_FAST enabled by default (high power wi-fi when screen is off)
These settings were changed by me to help make the kernel more stable with our ROM, observed with tests by me. If you want more features of the Sultan kernel feel free to flash it, but support will not be provided in this thread.
Other Features of the kernel include:
* OC to 1866Mhtz (default 1566Mhtz)
* Undervolted
* User-configurable CPU OC
* User-configurable CPU default governor (ondemand = default)
* User-configurable I/O scheduler (default = SIO)
* User-configurable badass gonvernor (default = balanced)

What do you mean? I take the sim out, then I will be able to do the cm account login and then I can put my sim back in? Or I need to keep the sim out?
Can the sim card really cause no response of the touchscreen, its weird?
just installed this rom however screen is going dark after like five to ten minuetes and i have to take out battery
I am running the 11-12-13 build... With minimal issue...
Stupid work keeping me from trying 11-13-13 build...
Sent from my Vivid 4G using Tapatalk
Good stuff albinoman! Things seem to be running somewhat smooth.. Mine doesn't have a SIM in it anymore, so I'm avoiding that problem altogether - I've only experienced one random lock up and that was when I opened camera, it threw a fit about me not having a SD card, then wouldn't respond to anything. Unfortunately I can't find a SD anywhere at my desk to test the camera further. Vibrations worked, but that was about it til a reboot. 2 random hangouts FC's. WiFi fired right up and connected. Maps found me right away..Very nice all around! Sounds like you have a little work cut out for you re: data issues, but I'm sure you'll hammer it out. Keep up the awesome work!
Great. testing ....
Testing this also. 20131113. No SIM installed. Full wipe, clean install. Google Search is not working for me. I can say "OK Google" and it opens the dialog box, but reports "Can't open microphone." If I type something into the search field, I get no results back.
I get the same mic not found when trying to input a voice note to Keep. Opening settings for search locks up phone.
Can anyone else confirm?

All is confirmed other than Search Settings. I can open and navigate through search settings fine, but nothing to do with the mic (from keyboard, search, etc) seems to work and google search either doesn't return anything, or a blank black screen.
Thanks Homeslice. I started over with a full clean install. This time I could edit the Search options OK. Mic functions still not fully working of course. I made a call using GrooveIP, and the conversation was fine, the other party could hear me OK.

Hadn't actually tested anything with the mic as far as communications were concerned Who uses a phone for voice conversation anymore? I mean, come on
Testing now. A few things I've noticed so far. Random touchscreen freezes, won't respond until I reboot (have to pull batt, power button stops responding as well) Hangouts crashed once, But the biggest issue is I'm getting no service. Straight talk sim, verified that it's installed correctly, but no go on service. Comes up with no sim card error, then that goes away and it just says Emergency calls only. Will keep working with it and see what happens. MAJOR kudos to the dev, it's awesome having a dev dedicated to working on this, instead of waiting for months to somebody got around to working on it. Thanks tons @albinoman887!!!
Freeze at cm account screen with and without sim card, full wipe, with and without pa gapps we were supposed to download. Will our device support ART?
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using xda app-developers app
With my sim card in, I get no service and the touch screen won't work. WIthout SIM, works fine except, obviously no service
new build... fixed freeze with sim card inserted...sorry about that
Just installed this ROM. I get as far as the screen where I can select my language and it freezes and locks up on this screen or as I'm about to scroll up to English (Australia). On your other CM 10.2 ROM the same issue occurs except I can select my language and click next and it freezes and locks up before it gets to the next screen. The device reboots after a minute.
What's going on? I've tried with and without a SIM.
Installed latest update, all is working fine except browser saying an error access denied but chrome works well so its not a big deal. And contacts from Google won't synch and gmail too is not synchronising, but maybe its related to gapps, I hope goo.im comes with a cm11 gapps if its the cause of the problem.
Awesome man. Thanks a lot!

Senior Limpio introduces his rom to you:
Quote:
"L-Droid is a rom loosely based off of SlimRoms AOSP sources with various sources picked from other great developers. I have spent the last 6 months putting together a ROM for my Galaxy S3 that I could use as a daily driver and also contains all the features I like on my phone. This rom comes with all the bells and whistles but without taking a hit on battery life. I do this on my spare time and absolutely love it so I hope you'll like my work. As I am just setting up my thread I will add more detail on this later. If at any point you have a bug or a feature request to point out, I would be more than willing to look into it as long as I have a logcat or source code to work with. Enjoy! "

OMFG, I cannot believe how dope this ROM is and, further more, I can't believe no one's commented yet. I know this phone is all but dead to a lot of people, but still. I still use mine and you, my good sir, just took it up some levels. Haven't signed in since upgrading to 4.4 in the Spring, but I had to to show my thanks to you. Even as a port, this looks to be incredibly packaged. I'm coming from Resurrection Remix, which was fire, itself, so the fact that I like this one just as much says something. More, due to the customization options. That's really what it comes down to for me, nowadays. So, thanks. A lot. Great work, man.
Edit: The Gapps you posted don't seem to have the typical Gapps like music and Gmail.. Already downloaded Play Music, but do you think it's better to install apps like Gmail through recovery or does it not matter if I just download that, too, from the store?

thank you for your kind words, glad to hear your enjoying the ROM so much. as for gapps it doesn't really matter how you get them but I prefer to keep it basic and use banks gapps, updating through the play store just gets you the latest version of gmail, maps, etc. I'll add another link or two for gapps later into the op, most likely it will be pa and slim or plain old Google gapps...

really all depends on what kernel you run it with. i suggest giving neat and neo kernel a try, neat is more up to date and neo development has stopped for us but still works. neat=417mb neo=415mb...
UPDATE: wtf not sure what's up with my screenshot I attached but yea, lol. Op updated with four different links to gapp's now.
Sent from my Half Baked Vibrant
With Neat kernel the ROM is very fast and smooth but GPS doesn't work. I didn't try with Neo.
Edit: double tap to sleep doesn't work. I can't find kill app button.
Edit: Edit: I found a fix for double-tap to sleep from here:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/verizon-lg-g2/383875-double-tapping-status-bar-sleep-kit-kat.html
it works.

double tap to sleep is working fine on my end any chance did you lower your DPI? I have issues with with that some times when I go lower than 200. for kill app button its buried in settings/l droid vault/navigation option/hardware buttons, this is packed with features that even I be forgetting some times where things are lol.

1. Short explanation: choice.
Long explanation: Some want to install all Google features so they prefer PA where they have choice of modular packages. Same thing with BanK's GApps. I for one prefer the minimal package Bank GApps offers because I only want the essentials for minimal battery impact. Your milleage may vary.
2. No. In fact "Current bootloop with ART" is posted as a Known Issue in the original thread. ART is also not suggested in its KitKat form because it is an experimental and incomplete, bug-ridden runtime. Expect the completed form in the next major Android version this year. Also, ART is also not suggested because apps can take more space in the device and all GS1 variants have little of everything, including RAM by today's standards.
3. About Xposed on ART? Not likely on KitKat. More here.

I didn't say anything against your ROM. In fact, before I changed bootloaders, not even the stock CM kernel made videos work. Now that I came back to the default bootloader, the latest sada's build (stock CM kernel) is working fine since the day it was released. I don't have the need to change kernels for the first time since CM7 and Bionix-v days. I may venture to other configurations soon, just had to make sure the default kernel worked.

Information
These are the monthly releases of CM with some modifications and touch ups that will be listed below, They are meant for users who want a stable ROM without the need to flash nightly releases and risking a Nandroid, anyone who has enjoyed the stability of my Google Edition ROM should give this a go
all builds have their core features tested (Camera, bluetooth, bluetooth audio, tethering, USB audio, Data, Voice calls etc), I also adb debug each release and look for any redflags, I then set up the phone and daily drive it with a few of my testers and once I deem the release stable it will be posted here.
Note: The CM camera works but it's not the best, SnapCam HDR (Paid app) from the market is much more stable and has a ton more features (these developers only focus on the 4.4 open source camera and making it better), I highly suggest doing what I do and removing the stock Camera and Gallery and using this awesome app which also includes a gallery with more features, myself and ktoonsez swear by it. The stock files are found in system/app.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Features

-Updated and debloated gapps
- No rom branding - I don't flash my name around in the settings menu anywhere, keeping it stock AOSP.

-Android L boot animation
-adb shell fixes
-Ext SD permissions added in platform
-Zip aligned
-No extra bloat

[B]06/01/2014[/B]
I was VERY happy with how 5/31/2014 ran on my phone but noticed a few commits merged last night that were authored by bossman Cyanogen himself, so here is your changelog. I feel like the foundations of this ROM are set now which I knew would take a few builds
so if all goes well with this, I will start bi-weekly releases because I'm extremely sick of full wiping/testing/compiling, I just wanna use my phone as a phone!!
stagefright: yield callbackDispatcher to writer only for video
libstagefright: Fix to handle EAGAIN error on first read to source
audio: mute duration at the beginning of recording
Bluetooth: Fix for device gets stuck in pairing
Bluetooth: turn on lcd during Connection
camera: Disable extra HDR frame on QCOM_HARDWARE - HDR fix for third party apps
appops: Fix WIFI_SCAN AppOp permission index
nxp: Include support declaration for Mifare tags
[B]Everything but the app ops commit was merged into the stable branch of CM 11, these were necessary changed to warrant an update[/B]
Enjoy!

Added Stock MMS back in the build as it's theme friendly

Fix circle battery opaqueness for the low battery color
Reduce memory leaks by removing all views.
CMAccount: fix setup wizard crash
Themes: Add read/write permissions - 2 commits
Fix broken tags
Remove Status bar notification count checkbox preference <--- main reason for this update, I don't like broken toggles in my settings menus, no idea why CM just leaves them in there, it's rather annoying when there is ZERO java controlling them

thanks for a great rom:fingers-crossed:
Very nice!
Thanks for sharing!!
Installed and running superbly thus far! Cannot complain about anything...and it feels great to come back to a stock feel
UPDATE!
Man I just have to say battery life is amazing so far! I'm sitting at 49% with just close to 10 hours being either used or standby. My screen on time is just shy over 2 hours so far. I'm very impressed!
Is the compass working?
Thank you,
Man this ROM is my new daily. Simple interface, fast, and stable with no bloat in sight. Everything I look for in a ROM.
Huge thank you to Dan & Ktoon for this.
This rom is really nice. I did notice a couple of things that i figured i would point out.
1. Calendar and GMail weren't included in gapps. No big deal, downloaded from the app store.
2. WiFi is a little temperamental. I noticed when i had it plugged in, it disconnected and wouldn't reconnect. Then, when i tried to turn it off, it wouldn't. Then i when it finally connected, it wouldn't turn off. i know this is a cm issue as well. Reboot fixes the issue.
3. Bluetooth doesn't disconnect from pairing.
Other than that, everything else seems to work great. Thanks

terribly sorry for this... its stable though, M9 caused me no problems whatsoever. m10 just didn't cut it
Big improvement over the first version. Bluetooth was the same on cm11 which i know you pulled from. So far no issues to report. thanks
Does MMS send/receive over 3G on this rom? Cyanogenmod has been having trouble with this on their own rom for quite a while.
Yes it does

This is a cm thing. I have seen it mentioned in other forums.
Initial review of this rom:
The new version is much better than the first version. No issues with Data, Bluetooth, Wifi or GPS. Actually, everything is very smooth and responsive.
Twice last night i had an issue while reading web pages with chrome. The app would close by itself, the phone became unresponsive, once the recent app list came up, the other time was half notification bar. Nothing would work on the phone, so i pulled the battery. Haven't been able to do it again, and if it does happen and i am near a computer i will upload a log.
I also switched to ART this morning, everything is smooth and working well.
Thanks for the awesome rom.
Anyone know of a tool or manual process on adding mods/apps to a rom. I've been flashing roms a lot lately and I hate having to do it manually every time.
Mods/Apps I would like to add my self:
Viper4Android
Lenevo Camera w/ Libs
eXtremeBeats Studio
Edit: Just flashed the ROM and set everything up. I finally feel like I'm on a stable ROM. Thank you!!
Second day, not a single issue. 15 on battery, almost 4 hours screen on time! Awesome!
Just tried out this rom. Everything is looking to be working quite well! Thanks for fixing so many things!
All the radio fixes (especially the MMS over 3G) should be submitted directly to CM's gerrit: http://review.cyanogenmod.org/
For some reason they have been working very slowly on fixing these core functions.
So after 3 days, the only issue I have is at night I read a bunch of different websites on chrome and the program crashes and phone freezes. Nothing works until I press and hold the power button to hot boot the phone. Here is a log, I hope I did it right.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ly9aicq02zkapnl/logcat.txt?dl=0
Does anyone know why I go from 16 gb showing to 9.59 when I use cyanogen rom?

Hey another day another rom, that's what you might be thinking. but we at stag aim towards elegance. We are learners just like everyone out there, This is small project we have started which helps us learn every single day. Why Stag, you might question, my answer would be why not. After all Harry's patronus was a stag(pun intended). After having a couple of iterations, we still intend to stick to our roots, and keep refining what we have. With Android 13, Stag would still be aiming at an elegantly beautiful close to stock experience, that satisfies just the features and customisations you'd crave for (nothing more, nothing less), at the same time being blazing fast and silky smooth. You'll have to try it to believe it .
~Sic Parvis Magna~
PS: for people wondering what sic parvis magna is, it translates to great endings from small beginnings, Something i picked up while playing a game.

* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if

*/
This is a very initial stage build, bugs are to be expected. Although so far in testing we did not find anything major and you will be flashing the build of your own accord.
I am planning to have super frequent releases of A13 beta, and soon it will be the stag you know and love (it's super stable already)

Changelog - 24042023
Bonjour, A long time due update is finally out. The march update by google was a huge pain, I had to completely re work the source and had a lot of personal issues. Hence I had to skip march release, and are soo late into april as well. I'll really try my best to provide all further updates on time (or much ahead). With all the rambling aside, this update will not look much, but trust me someone once said: "it's not what's on the outside that matters, it's what's on the inside that does". And inside the source there have been a tremendous amount of changes and people who tested the build are in love with it, so what exactly does it bring to plate ? Read on:
Device Specific
1. Updated to April Firmware
2. Some Unsupported regions (India) should have 5g working now.
3. Enabled CLO boost framework, makes the device much smoother.
4. Now Playing works just like on pixel (even on lockscreen)
Source
1. Feb -> April patch. We are on the latest patch by google, CTS passes OOTB!
2. One downgrade is the removal of battery styles, they will be right with you by may release.
3. We revamped the Recents UI slightly, looks more like OOS now.
4. A very small touch is the addition of clear all sound, I personally find it very satisfying. The swoosh that OOS clear all makes, now Stag does too, you'll absolutely love it.
5. Added a feature called re-ticker. For anyone who's used a samsung phone might be able to relate. It's a OneUI style pill shaped notification.
6. Added notification clear all button styles
7. Finally App Lock and hide apps from launcher, super helpful features!!
8. Revamped resolution selector
9. A new settings UI (can be enabled with a toggle)
That's about all I have on the feature front, but you'll be lost scrolling and using the latest and greatest of Stag.
Until next time.
Spoiler: Old Changelogs
Changelog - 28022023
Hola people, Hope you have been loving the previous stag release, I have heard feedback, and there's some serious changes in this build! Keep reading to find out. LTO
Build is based on February Security patch by the way and passes CTS out of the box .
Changes
1. In continuation to last build, we have done major launcher re work, I could write a complete changelog just stating the launcher changes itself, but I'll leave it to you guys to figure it out.
2. A few notable changes, revamped recents menu, added memory info to recents. Shhh.. No more spoiling.
3. We now build using Global ThinLTO. Keeping it simple, it means that performance will go vrooom.
4. Now you have chance to use the updated security menu in settings straight from pixel (only on GAPPS builds)
5. This is a hot cake, now you can choose which side you want your volume panel in landscape as well. I understand some people find it comfortable on the right on landscape, this one's for you.
6. Like QPR2? Me too, hence now we have the QS panel from QPR2, nothing major, just a very smooth and soothing clock expand animation.
7. Not everyone is a fan of two column layout of QS Tiles, we now have added row and column count customisation, along with being able to hide labels!!!
8. Now you can also hide if you don't want to see your daily data usage, hide that guilt XD.
9. Added music pulse. NavBar/lockscreen/ambient music visualiser.
10. Also added edge light for notification.
11. Added support for toggling status bar icons.
12. As a consequence of above, a dynamic VoLTE, and a VoWiFi icon implementation which can be turned off!
13. Added a fix to IMS, which avoids showing carrier name under internet tile twice, for example, "JIO - Jio".
14. A lot of under the hood performance and visual improvements, to make sure that stag flies hehe!!
This is a decent sized feature update, and I'm positive you guys will more than love it.
Looking forward to your responses
Until next time!
Changelog - 12022023
Hey guys, February's here and as owners of Pixels it would suck not being able to have February patch already don't you agree? So this here is a very quick update with a small but very useful changes and of course with February patch
Fixes
1. Safety Net/CTS/Integrity passes directly without having to root or flash any module (only for gapps build), enjoy as good as stock experience with this too.
2. Now you can successfully update play updates from security settings (which used to fail till previous build)
3. Fixed some rare cases where screenshot crashes
Changelog
1. February security patch
2. Added Fingerprint icon and animation customisations (it's super fun)
3. Moved to aosp launcher in gapps build as well, no more hassle of pixel launcher. You feel a feature is missing, just ping me and you'll find it in the next release .
4. Added a toggle to enable unlimited photos storage (use at your own risk)
5. Added a toggle to spoof games allowing higher refresh rates (yes we rock!)
6. Updated blobs from pixel February update
There's a lot more features in line and you are going to love them!!
We'll have another release soon and in the meantime you would love all the goodness this build brings!!
Cheers and Regards

Trying to download the latest build but this download speed is awful... 200-300 kb/s... is there another mirror? Thanks

Man I wish I could try the ROM but I think you are trolling us all with Sourceforge, the slowest hosting service ever lol
Hey @pranavasri thank you for this ROM for our Pixel 7. I just installed it, but I was wondering, how to we get Magisk working on it? Sorry if it's a dumb question, this is my first Pixel phone.
Edit: Nevermind, I used PixelFlasher and got Magisk on it and working.
4 hours to download a rom... Looks like dev doesn't car eiether

Took me about 30 minutes to download. It might have took so long to download because of the server SF chose for you

Sadly we have been using it for quite some time. What I can suggest is
If you are on linux, try downloading using aria2c
or on windows XDM or IDM, they will give you real great download speeds. We do not have many storage options avaialable and neither a storage server, this is the best we could use for uploading files without having to pay.

What server did it choose for you? Mine was San Diego, California, US, and I had no other servers to choose from. The download took around 2.5 hours. Speed was really slow, avg. 600 kbps. I'm from Texas, but I don't think it should be this slow, although I'm not very knowledgeable about these kinds of things.
Yeah, it seems like the file replication on SourceForge didn't work for the latest upload. The only download option is the official SourceForge server in California. Even with JDownloader, it was capping at two threads maxing out at 300kb/s, and this is on a symmetrical 2gbps fiber line. I do know SourceForge had some issues the past couple of days, so it may just be something we need to wait on before it's in better shape. Usually have no issues with files hosted on SF.
Any chance you would be willing to post the MD5s for your builds so we can verify they are in good shape before flashing? With these download issues I am a little hesitant to try flashing without confirming the download is intact.
