that kinda way
I remember reading somewhere that the s pen gets charged while its inside the holder. So maybe its simply out of juice

The S Pen is a passive device. That means it has no battery to run it. If your S Pen stops working it's probably because it's broken so try using a different S Pen or get Samsung to check it for you.

Tnx for th link.
I think I'm not going to do all that.
It's not worth it.
You only loose your warranty when you brick your phone do to overclocking or similar.

Dude, rig apart a micro usb lead, quid at a cheap shop, cut the rubber casing around the plug exposing the pinscut the wires off or desolder em off.
Buy some 300k 1/4 watch resistors from maplin.co.uk, 10 pack for a quid.
Solder one end of the resistor to pin 4, the other end to pin 5.
Encase it in electricians tape or something, stick it in phone and bingo, boots into download mode, phone must be off first.
I made one, £2, reset the counter on my scl i9003, also works on my galaxy note, also handy if ya brick ya phone.

I just ordered the one mentioned in the thread linked to above from dealextreme, dirt cheap with free shipping (less than $2 US), just in case something goes wrong in my adventures with the note.
yer
always safe to have one lying about, i agree, even if it never gets used, you just never know, and for that price, its worth it.

Hey, I recently bought my note and I was playing around with the photo editor and noticed that when I use the s pen, I can tell that where the pen is touching and where dot is showing up is not at all accurate. It ends up being approx 2mm right of where the pen touches.
Is there a way to calibrate the pen? Is anyone noticing this on their note?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA App
Yes, this question has already been asked a thousand times and no, there is no way of calibrating so far, sorry.

I guess we have to wait for the pen sdk then? Thanks for the reply btw. An admin can delete this thread if anything.

keep the phone plugged in for a while .. like couple of hours.. in off condition. then try again.
What battery did you replace it with, a link would be helpful. If it was an eBay knock off, there may be a chance its a dud.

seems like d battery is loosing its charge very quickly .. or supply is inconsistent.. even small current drops can turn off ur note .. clean d contacts ..if u have a spare battery somewhere check with it ..if d problem persists .. take it to d service center .. unroot it first

My s pen broke inside the slot on my note 5, but I can't send it to Samsung because I use it heavily for managing work and home stuff. Fyi, the pen physically breaking inside my phone left the phone unusable. Only after removing service from the phone did it begin to function properly. Anyone know where I can get a s pen online?
Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
If you call samsung support they can send you one im pretty sure. That seems to be the only solution at this point.
U lost me. So your pen broke inside the phone and that made your phone not work? Then u de activated the phone and it worked?
I guess to answer your question some stuff to ask is were u able to get the broken part out? Or is it stuck inside? If its out im sure samsung can send u a new one and u can use the phone while u wait on it. If its stuck in there what service do u use? Are u in the unites states? Give us some more info. I use sprint. They have repair centers that u can pop into and let them work on your phone.
Ebay has some oem s pens for the note 5 for around 20$
Sent from my SM-N920P using XDA Free mobile app
Thanks for the quick reply and situ for the confusion... I did manage to get the broken part of the s pen out of my phone. I am on sprint as well. Yes, my phone went to a flashing green screen until I deactivated it and went back to my note 2. Then I go back to get my 5 to box it up to send back to Samsung and, presto, it's fine. The s pen breaking inside it caused some weird conflict that I guess the phone couldn't handle. I consider myself pretty savvy with electronics, but I've never seem anything like this before.

I lost my spen and tried that call to SAMSUNG to see if they can send me a new spen. Unfortunately I was told that it does not fall under warranty. Was told to buy one on AMAZON, which I had to do and I'm waiting for. Prepare to fork over at least & $30+
Ebay has a lot of them....

S-Pen $37.50

Thanks all for the info and suggestions. I did look at those previously, but I wasn't sure about the authenticity of those products. I purchased an aftermarket spen for my note 2 and it failed to meet operational my standards.
