Hi guys,
I got this problem.
When I use mount storage in Android (4.03) It will mount something but it is not my sd-card. It looks like internal storage. When I go to recovery and choose "Mount USB Storage" it does mount the right sd-card and everything is in order.
I don't know if it helps, but this is how I got the problem:
- I had Bindroid I-scream XL rooted and unlocked. HBOOT 1.24/1.25 not sure.
- I unrooted and relocked bootloader.
- flash stock RUU.
- did an OTA update. HBOOT 1.28
- flash this recovery: recovery_for_1.28.img
- installed latest superuser through that recovery.
- got S-OFF using this hboot http://unlimited.io/runnymede/
- hmm I want to go back to I-scream (yes I know not very smart)
- whiped and reflashed I-scream XL rom.
- this is where I first noticed the problem.
Is there anyone who can help me? should I downgrade the hboot? is that even possible?
thanks in advance!
Hannemaster.

Thanks a lott, I do notice a difference. But I manually formatted my sd-card to fat32 as well(before tryin this). and now it only gives me the option to "charge only" when usb is connected. Any idea how I can re-partition the internal sdcard? If you can solve this matter ill donate you 10 dollar my friend.
Ah I got it working, after rebooting Android told me "the sdcard is corrupt, you want to format?" and when I pressed Yes, everything was working again! I'll donate you 5 dollar anyways

Next time give a link to it or write from where you got it

I have to mod some files in /sbin without root before i can root my phone, since it's currently only booting to cwm without working 'adb root', and since it has got at least one corrupt filesystem.
I've tried searching the mounted filesystems of factoryfs.rfs etc, but without success. Where is it?
Would it be possible to update a non-/system directory through an update.zip file? As said, I currently do not have root.
What exactly are you looking for?
I don't really understand your problem.
What ROM are you on right now.
How come you have CWM but not root?
This should it i hope

"What ROM are you on right now.
How come you have CWM but not root?"
I'm currently using XXJP3 without the /media and /app directories(I mounted the factoryfs.rfs on my computer and moved them elsewhere.)
adb root has worked for me earlier, but suddenly, it stopped. Instead i get the
error: device not found
error when issuing adb shell after adb root.
The problem is, I cannot install root or anything else yet because my /system(stl9) partition does not act the way it should.
No factoryfs containing /media and /app can be flashed. I've tried the --repartition flag(with correct .pit-file.)
To work around it, I'm trying to edit a script, located in /sbin, to be run at boot. The script will hopefully allow me to fix the partition with root privileges. In either case, it will be able to write the output to a log file to be read through $-adb shell.
The /sbin boot script would also allow me to use the external sd instead of the internal memory in case the stl9 partition somehow cannot be fixed.
As rooting is no option yet, I need to flash the /sbin directory, but since I can't find it in the rom, I need your help here.
this is my first attempt at a boot animation and has been tested on my own device (LG optimus one running Mik_OS 6.5.4 cm7 rom)
i take no liability in how it runs on your device
i am still trying to figure out how to add sound to the bootanimation as all methods i have seen online do not work on my device. if you would like the sound file that goes with this and know how to activate your boot sound pm me and i will send it too you
instructions
*device must be rooted*
**i use root explorer for file moving**
download vtwinboot.zip
extract files (bootanimation.zip, please read mefirst.txt) to an easy accesable folder on your computer
get the bootanimation.zip onto your sd card
copy it from sd card root to devices "/data/local" folder
Reboot

My friend has a Bell GT-i9000M phone. I am not sure what he did but I believe he applied lagfix and tried to update to 2.3
Current status is that I am able to get to Dowload mode.
I have tried:
1. Darkys stock rom: http://www.darkyrom.com/community/i...-this-is-the-stock-rom-for-sgs-gt-i9000.1115/
(No success)
2. JPU: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10449932&postcount=7 (no success)
3. JL2/Speed Kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905975 - No success.
I can get into recovery but I get can't mount DBDATA error.
Currently the phone is rebooting constantly at Galaxy S GT-i9000M screen.
If I flash only JPU, it get stuck a round circle, I have waited about 15 mins with no change. I have used ODIN 1.3 and 1.82 and 1.83.
HELP!
What else to try?
This is where I am so far:
Phone boots with 2.2 with 0 for SD card and internal. Followed instructions as per: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973687
Now, trying to use sdparted or parted.
If I use parted, using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=937072 and http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/...56396__hl__sdparted__fromsearch__1#entry56396, I am able to get to:
Step 4:
okay now copy all the six files you pushed into the /system directory to the /sbin directory and set permissons like this:
#cp /system/[xyz] /sbin
#chmod 0755 /sbin/[xyz]
(replace the [xyz] with the filenames..do this for all 6 files..)
now get into the /sbin directory
#cd /sbin
#ls
This should display all the files in your /sbin
The parted files you copied should be here...
Now lets start partitioning..
#parted /dev/block/mmcblk0 and hit enter.
here it should get you into the parted prompt..(parted)
enter "print"
>(parted) print
Click to collapse
However instead of listing, I get "can't have a partition outside the disk parted"
I am stuck at this point. I am currently using adb in normal mode. If I reboot to CLM SpeedMod recovery, I only get $ when typing adb shell, and su results in permission denied. I have tried installing super user via recovery but no go.
ThoughtS?
Anyone ?

endless boot is fine as long as when you go back into recovery your SD card can be mounted unlike before.
So i ask, is it mounting now?
If it is, your free to flash any other ROM
Hi Jay,
No go on recovery mode. Vol up + home + power doesn't get me anywhere. Vol down + home + power gets to download mode.
Phone continues bootlooping...
you mean you are still getting the same error in recovery?
sorry that didnt work for you as i had the exact same error and that is what worked for me.
I then flashed darky 10.2 RE once i could mount my SD card
Here is one way to flash HTC Salsa C510e RUU rom directly under HBOOT, no need use USB cable to connect your phone with computer.
Preparation:
1. Salsa (can get into HBOOT mode correctly)
2. Gold Card (if you don't have one, can according to this link to make one. http://android.modaco.com/topic/305672-creating-a-goldcard/)
3. Make sure your SD card is FAT32 format
4. A cable or card reader can copy some files into your sd card
5. a HTC Salsa C510e ruu rom you prepare to flash (make sure is a correct and full exe file)
6. Windows computer can run ruu rom
Remark:
If your salsa is s-off, you don't need gold card. If the ruu rom matches your salsa sales original location, you don't need gold card.
Start Flash:
1. Run the ruu rom on your computer, no need hit "next"

}
2. Run windows task manager on your computer, find task "adb.exe" or "ARUWinzard.exe"
3. Use mouse right buttom hit either one of the task to chose open the file folder, find rom.zip and copy to another location.
4. Turn off ruu
5. Rename rom.zip to PH11IMG.zip.
6. One more time to check your sd card is FAT32 format, and copy the renamed file PH11IMG.zip to your sd card (root directory)
7. Push both "volume low+power" same time, salsa will get into HBOOT mode
8. Wait for few seconds, screen will show if you want to flash new rom. Push volume up start flashing
9. After flashing, acoording to instruction to reboot Salsa, you will enter into new rom.
(This instruction is from xda.cn)
Here are some Salsa Ruu rom, there are more will be added.

Having found the fix'es on this site for the GPS, I am having a great deal of trouble applying it.
Using ES File Explorer I can navigate to root/etc - but I if I try to add or delete it just tells me the file can not be deleted (or added/copied/renamed or whatever I try). So how do I overcome this?
Secondly, I have to change the file permissions.
e.g.
5.Set permissions as follows
gps.conf rw- r-- r--
gps_brcm_conf.xml rwx rwx --x
Where do I go to make these changes?
Thanks.
1. I think your system partition is mounted as read-only, so you have to mount it as read/write - then changes are allowed. In Es file explorer there is such option in settigs menu.
2. To change permission using Es, put your finger on file you want to change permisions and hold a while. When 'operations' menu appers, go to option 'properties' and there is window where you can change permissions

1. Cant find any options that do this.
2. doing this only gives me buttons for "check checksum" and "OK", but I suspect if once I can change things in root I may get different options.
If you have rooted phone and root permiossions for Ex file explorer granted, then:

}
in my case it looks like this... and work well
and:
Arr yes, I see it now. But its greyed out and wont let me activate it. When I try to enable root explorer I get this message:
Warning: When 'SU Request' dialog popup, please select 'always allow' or make system 'remember' your 'allow' choice. Do you want to try this feature anyway?
It then says "sorry, test failed, this feature cannot be run on your phone"
So looking up this new problem I installed some adb software to fix my SU Request problem. But it adb software only says it only works on rooted devices and wont let me do anything..... frustrating
EDIT: I have installed GingerBreak to root it. But its been trying to do so for over an hour...
You need to be your phone rooted.
The method changed in versions 20, the best option is bin/fls converter:

Yes, you need to root your device for this feature, if gingerbreak didn't work the first time is not going to work at all, i had to flash from smartflash tool in N00BY0815's guide for noobs =)

Thanks, but way to complex for me. All this stuff seems to be about changing ROMs, not just unrooting the phone, which is probably why I am having trouble grasping it.
ErnuB solution unfortunately has a youtube video which isn't in English and doesn't seem to apply to my particular version of phone which is V20c with Android 2.3.4
I will keep looking.....
