Good evening,
I want to sell the tab and have installed a host of roms - no stock rom backup. I want to know if there is a link to a stock optus rom for this tab? I am unable to locate one. Thank you in advance
Sent from my GT-P1000 using xda premium
go to
http://www.samfirmware.com/
open an account and look for P1000 that is listed for Optus.
Or
(found it for you from there)

I used this rom. I don't know if my tab was on the way out, but according to Samsung, my tab mother board got fried. No selling the tablet for me.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
you mean your tab got fried after flashing this rom?
Really sorry to hear that.
Edit: you see, I can't help but feel partly responsible for introducing that rom link to you.
In your other post you said you are on CM9 last. Could it be that you just haven't restock properly? What is the symptom now.
Don't feel responsible. It is my choice to flash back to stock.
The tablet is completely dead - it had full battery when I flashed it. No display, computer sees something, but it has an error. Samsung said I'd have to replace the mother board $234 ausd. I still think that a jtag job would fix it. I don't know anyone in Australia who does it.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
maybe resurrection mod can safe it, one step before full jtag.
Sorry, I am unfamiliar with that, what is it?

I should say Unbrickable mod.
Still not for the feint hearted, but many people managed to pull it off.
It resurrect the tab to a point where you can flash a stock rom.
Yes, you are correct. I was lucky enough to be in developer mode and didn't need to modify the tablet. The hardest part was installing and using ubuntu. Thanks for the help, I am ready to sell it now. I can't believe Samsung wanted me to pay $230 to replace the mobo, it shows either they want to ripp people off or have no idea what they are doing.

There are lot of ROMs on samfirmware.com and guides on how to flash them. You need an account though.
Have you even flashed a ROM before?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
i have flashed rom on a HTC Hero before, which was my old phone, but not on this phone, dunno how different its gonna be!

Check samfirmware.com, it will help you (a lot).

BTW, you could also check Doc's ROM if you want to use custom rom. I personally use it and its great. It has also some good guides compiled on the first post. I strongly suggest you read the Doc-Froyo.pdf guide in that thread.
Good luck!

Hi guys,
Just posting to say that yesterday I flashed the ICS from the USA on my P7310XWKJ5 (Europe).
All I needed to do was follow this great instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1582943
The file to flash, by Odin, is this one:
http://www.hotfile.com/dl/169458139/5cca4ab/P7310UELPB_P7310XARLPB_XAR.zip.html
Guys... there is no need to worry. This is an official update from Sammy so if you have the Honeycomb stock there will be no problem at all.
I believe that Europe didn't receive the update only to avoid everyone in the world updating at the same time.
ICS with Touchwiz is simply great. The tablet is now much smoother and faster. ICS is much better then HC.
The only thing that you will lose in the update is the config of your 5 homes. Besides that, all your apps will be ok and your saved data.
Don't wait anymore... flashing Odin style and enjoy the best Samsung as to offer.
At least I did...
Cheers! Coragem com isso!
P.S: make sure you have the samsung drivers on your pc... to test it just install Kies and connect your tablet. If Kies recognizes your tablet then you are good to go.
BTW: no need to thank... I didn't do anything... I just pressed my balls against one another (crossed my fingers) and did the update. Thanks for your help almaalma74.

YESSS thanks so much, got it and its working, from Cambridge United Kingdom. Very happy again with my tab 8.9
does this increase the binary counter?
as I got the tab about 2 months ago, and don't want to lose the warranty as of now
I have GT-P7300 international version
Hi prince,
You must wait for the firmware of your model, the 7300.
You must have a little more patience.
This firmware is for the wifi version only.

Mine was HC stock without root or cwm.
I suppose that it doesnt affect the update.

Has anyone else tried this method? I am tired of waiting here in Spain for the ICS update, and with Sammy's background there is a low probability of receiving it in the short-term. Which are the implications of install the USA version? Will I be able to use OTA for update the tablet in the future? Its better to install via CWM? I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

LOL, just gave you a free "thanks" - clicked wrong button.
Anyway, lots of people have done that - well, at least the update using the USA ICS, of course they were coming from a variety of ROM (not only that xwkj5)
Anyway, there's no reason it shouldn't work. A few people (strangely, mostly from Switzerland) had an issue, that the ICS failed to work properly (garbled screen) and found they had to Odin-flash a specific HC 3.2 version, and only then it worked. But that's a minority, and the solution is simple.
future OTA - if you load this ROM, you will get future OTA distributed to the "USA" market. (until you flash another region's ROM)
What to install... if you want to make sure to have the original ICS experience from Samsung (with nothing removed or added), I would recommend to use the stock file for Odin. If you want, you can follow that up with an Odin-flashable recovery & a root.zip flashed from recovery.
see e.g.
for download Odin-flashable recovery (I still prefer the slightly older 5.1.2.6 - for a more complete and logical menu than 5.5.0.4; and more reliable than 6.x)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30839339&postcount=52
for root package:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30837767&postcount=47
Thanks guys for the help. With the fingers crossed today I flashed the usa version via Odin. Simple procedure and very happy with the update. It preserved everything just like a normal update. So long any bugs, huge improvement of perfomance, certainly a new experience. I will try to root it in the nexts days when I have time. Thanks to everyone except Sammy

I updated my P7300 with this image and it works great, except for the obvious loss of 3G.
If you don't have a current requirement for 3G then I can definitely recommend the update.
I used the rooted modded version, btw, with some apps removed. See the development forum.
Updated my UK GT-P7310 yesterday via Odin. Man what a difference! It just feels so much smoother and quicker. Even the boot time seems to have shortened, although I may just be imagining that. No apps lost, no data lost. Absolutely perfect.

I updated my UK GT-P3710 with US Stock ICS via ODIN. Initially smooth and good update. I have had 3 freezes while updating Titanium Backup Pro around 100+ apps. I ended up restoring apps individually with no freezes. I also noticed some brief pauses while playing Airline Control which I have noticed in the past with ICS Custom roms.
I flashed CMW5.5.04 and then used original root from recovery to gain root. No problems. Camera is working great.
I am now trying to flash A1 kernel ver 1.7 wifi to see if I can overclock. FAIL so I restored original boot.img. Overclock might have to wait.
I am liking ICS so much I might get a Galaxy S3 now with rumours of JB update coming.

I just flashed it using ODIN on my 7300... it works without any problem (but without 3G of course).
Just for info: Flashing using ODIN replaces the recovery as well.... so afterwards you will have to re-flash (again using ODIN) a custom recovery in order to continue playing...
Yes, I have already checked the overcome guide, but what makes me worried is the disclaimer (only GSM based models). I have a GT-P1000 Galaxy tab with Firmware 2.3.3 and I am able to use 3G and I have a simcard in it. I just want to be sure if that guide is really for me. IF you need any extra info about my tab, ask me.
Yeah yours is gsm model.
The cdma has no SIM card slot.

Hmmm. All those guides don't include where can I get CWM rly. As I understand, not from Rom manager. But I have failed to find a decent link to it. Well there was one, but it was I think a year old two old. Not sure if its okay.
11 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870690 ( ClockworkMod Recovery for Galaxy Tab )
is this the guide I should follow? I have doubts, because it was last edited 2 years ago. But if it still works, let me know : )
also if so, then am Im not sure if I am the euro, verizon or tMobile tab owner. Where can I check that? I personally live in Estonia and have a mobile contract with Estonian operators. I have no idea where the tablet is from. It's actually my little sisters and the tablet was a present for her. Also the tablet seemed to been used when she got it, so I have no idea where it comes from.
Our tab cwm comes with a kernel. Not separately like in some other devices.
The step that flash the overcome kernel in Odin, that gives you the cwm recovery.
Flip your tab see the back, what models it says.
Your can't be Verizon or Sprint. They are CDMA.
Tmobile or AT & T are just P1000 anyway. Overcome guide applies.

so iv been trying for days in and out to get back to stock i was running cm9 last.its a ish 800 (vzw) iv tried to use the overcome posted in this section with not much luck. now it shows a phone and a computer on the screen when i try and charge. idk if that matters since i can still get into recovery and dl mode. iv googled how to get back to stock but most links are 404ed and i cant find the right flies. can someone just point me where i need to go and what im to do at this point. thanks for your help
Overcome may brick a cdma device. You should read before flashing.
Or ask if unsure.

Hello everyone,
I live in the United States and have an unlocked German DBT Galaxy Note. Recently the USB port stopped working. I am unable to charge the phone, or access it from my computer.
Samsung USA referred me to International Support. I'm not sure I want to send it out for repair.
Now the JellyBean 4.1.2 update is out for my phone.
Is there any way to update it without using USB?
I'm not sure if it's because I live in the United States, but I've never been able to update OTA.
Could I just download the file directly to my phone, using the browser, and run the update?
Thanks for any help, and I apologize in advance if this is in the wrong place.

If your phone is rooted,
pull out your microsd,
copy the file in microsd,
Put in the microsd in your phone,
