Yes everything is working fine bro
Good.
I would try Ktool from G-play that can back up efs and install kernel.
extract the zImage from the kernel you would like to install to root folder of sdcard then use Ktool to install. It will work from right inside the android system.
It is a very useful tool and free as well ! it may help fix the problem with kernel and CWM.
cheers.
whats EFS

What is EFS ?? may i ask
nvm
Its encrypting file system
EFS is a partition in Note. It is important since it hold information on emei number for the phone. Sometime after brick or install a rom the emei number may be messed up and you end up with a generic emei which still work but not a good thing.
Then if you have back up of EFS you can restore it and get your original emei number back.
Have you tried to install kernel with Ktool yet?

[Q] Stuck at the "cm7" screen [UPDATE: Bootloop Logcat Attached!]

I was trying to mount the memory card by using the usb mass storage mode in a rescue disk but the mobile restarted itself a couple of times.. Later on I tried to mount the usb from cwm5 but was unsuccessful. In between all this, I do not know what happened (improper mounting/unmounting?) my device is now not booting into the OS.
Tried reinserting the battery.. no difference. Tried removing the memory card, stuck on "android" logo.
When I restart the mobile, it goes till the end of the bootscreen "Entering system" but then it reverts back to "cm7" boot screen and is stuck there.
My memory card is ok since i tried to mount it using cwm5 in windows and its working fine.
Can anyone let me know any quick solution to this as I need it working urgently?
I am using latest Apocalypse rom with firekernel kernel and amarrullz(???) script.
Did you considered reflashing the ROM?

I know, but i have lots of data in that rom which I still need. I think it's fixable, that's why am posting.

But boot loop is more of when you are stuck on "android" screen. I am stuck on boot animation.
Update : I made a fresh installation of Apocalypse.
Restored backup of sd-ext : lots of fc but working.
Restored backup of data : stuck at book animation.
I am thinking maybe some broken application is causing this.. any way to find out for sure?
once happened to me with apocalipse. I lost the data.
Sorry for bad english.

I already did install a new rom last night! But i still need data from previous rom... like sms and whatsapp and other apps.. so I have made a nandroid backup just in case.
Can anyone help me in solving it or recovering the data from the nandriod atleast? Tried appextractor but it wasn't able to restore sms and didn't show whatsapp only! TB didn't help too. I guess its due too d2sd script due to which these apps are not able to locate the data. Any other app which might work?

Maybe opening the nandroid backup manually with 7zip and such. Look up inside your data and system .img files. Use the files inside to create a flashable zip with the data from the apps you most desperatly need. done by using a flashable zip for a rom, deleting everythin inside it except for META-INF, and looking at the updater-script file to make mount /data and flash to /data instead of flashing to /system, place the folder with the data you need inside the zip.

I am getting what you are trying to say but seems like I don't need it. I was able to restore the sd-ext partition which had all the data.. seems like sms file is corrupt? But anyhow, I think most of the data is there now, but no apps! I can see the ".asec" files in ".android_secure" backup but have no idea how to make apk out of these? Any though how nandriod is able to do that or any script for that?

[Q] Please Help!! (TWRP BACKUP)

Please help me! I was on Sense 5 rooted with twrp installed. Decided id try out the new CM 10.1 for the HTC ONE. So i backed up my system, data and everything else and proceeded to install CM. Decided it wasnt for me, went to TWRP, went to restore and there are no files there? What happened? I can see I only have 6GB storage available so the file is there somewhere!! How do i flash the backup? i read about a twrp utility or that the file structure is off?
Thanks for your help!!
UPDATE: When I go into a file manager, the backup from today is there.. it is in TWRP> BACKUPS> HT34JXXXXXX> (2013-05-14 @ 8:06 AM)
and inside that folder are the usual backup files. BUT IT STILL WONT SHOW UP IN TWRP WHEN I PRESS "RESTORE"
Anyone? I'm dieing here!!!
Reflash recovery, and see if now work.
I've restored yesterday my backup and no prob with TWRP.
And search your file in sdcard/0
If it will not work, reflash rom.
Don't know if this happened but I had a galaxy s3 before I got the htc one and I understood that cyanogenmod is a 4.2.2 type of rom and we have a 4.1.2 rom. A lot of peeps in the galaxy's forum would have trouble going back to touchwiz roms because the say flashing a 4.2.2type of rom partitions the memory files differently so then the 4.1.1 stock or custom roms. You may have to somehow unroot the phone and "push" the phone back to stock using your computer. People had to do that before with the s3. Hope that helps maybe. I have to go to work now. Good luck
Should I try to flash clockwork mod? Just go into the play store, download and flash from within the app? I don't understand I made a full nandroid it is in my phone and on my computer.. Why can't twrp recognize it?

CWM can't restore TWRP backup.
If you backupped your rom with TWRP, this will restore it.
Did you try to see in sdcard/0?

This is in the stock cm10 file manager. This is the exact backup I'd like to restore but when I go into the recovery and press on restore, nothing shows please keep responding!!!!
For team win recover the files need to be in /sdcard/0 the number zero or it won't be recognized. Move the directory structure to /sdcard/0. Also copy the directory with the backup to your computer in case.
Can we see the whole directory structure of where these files are located? like /recovery/2012305/ or where ever it happens to be?

Search the SD card for boot.emmc.win you should get two results one from the original backup and one from the new one. You need to get both the backups together. Also copy your original backup to your computer so you have a copy of it in case you need to wipe or something.

OK so did you copy your backup to your computer yet???? Well if not now would really really be the time to do that. Looks like there is a issue with how CM is doing the SD card and TWRP. So first copy the backup off of your phone. Should I say it again? COPY THE BACKUP OFF YOUR PHONE. Now go get the correct RUU for your phone. Run that sucker and restore the phone to stock. You will need to relock your bootloader. Once that is done put TWRP back on your phone and copy your backup to the phone.
Ran into this myself. Because of 4.2.2's support for multiple users, it segments the internal storage into pieces(i.e. 0 for first user, 1 for second user, 2, 3, so on). I didn't realize this and had to start from scratch.
Copy your TWRP backup(and anything else you don't want to lose) to your computer and delete the 0 file. Re-add your files to the internal storage(be sure to keep a copy on your computer). Then reboot into bootloader, fastboot erase cache, reflash, and reboot into recovery. Don't let the CM10.1 ROM start up, otherwise you'll be doing it again.
Alternatively, use the All-In-One toolkit to adb sideload a non-CM10.1 ROM onto your phone, delete the 0 folder(after transferring to your computer what you don't want to lose, of course), reboot recovery, and attempt to restore.
Thanks guys, got it working

This is the same problems people with the GNex came across moving back from 4.2.2 to 4.1.2 last year - you have to remember the internal memory changed and manually move fles to the non-0 folders! You guys should read up more before jumping head long into a new Android version!
Glad it's sorted now though

OOPs--sorry this must be an HTC specific problem--sorry for poking my Samsung nose in...
Maybe I am not understanding the thread but--
In my Galaxy Note2 all my TWRP backups, and I have about 5, are all in ext.sd. card and I have used it to restore on several occasions--could be a device specific situation, but in Note2 it's fine to have them in ext.sd card.

[Q] issue after a restore with TWRP ?

Hello,
I'm new on this phone and I will ask some dumb questions. This is the first one:
- After a restore using TWRP (I have the 3 latests recovery installed), I have this on my screen (see attached pic).
- Then, the leds are blinking, and the blue one goes on so I can enter twrp again
- Then i select power-off
- Turn phone On, and boot is ok.
Is it normal or not ??
Sorry if very dumb question but I was expecting a normal reboot after my restore. About a year without looking at Android dev stuff and I am out of date...
Thanks
answer

This does not happens usually but no need to panic it's just a sign that phone is formatting the internal memory as somehow it got corrupt.
Just sit and wait. All your data will be safe. And if you really really wanna get it started, formatting internal memory would be sufficient. Because I think it has something to do with the amount of apps you have.

Thanks! The fact is that my heart stoped for some seconds.
It happens again, and with 2 differents backups.
Also, when I put for example system.win on my PC and rename it in system.tar I'm able to open it with winrar or 7zip. 7zip says it's corrupt, winrar open it but it's not complete ...
I don't have this issue with my twrp backups on Motorola Atrix.
But what is causing twrp to make corrupted backup files ...??...

When your internal memory (partition) has some error say build.prop tweak error (just suppose) then when backup happens it collects every data and backs it up in internal memory and it even include the corrupt partition, so making it restore will also make the data restore with corrupt nandroid header file.
It's much like a cup of glass which has crack and water still flows out of it and we still use that glass to drink water :silly: (makes no sense I know xD)
And you opened up the file in your computer that creates much more complex situation if you messed with any part of the nandroid backup, which will result in error with md5 sums or restoration error.
Try to backup your personal data if backup succeeds with error(s) included. Then just reboot into recovery wipe data then wipe cache partition and the reboot your phone probelm would be solved!

Well, I just made a backup with cwm and I'm able to open the generated tar file on my pc without issue.
I will use cwm so ...
But I will make more tests to see if it's really twrp the guilty. (strange that I had 2 corrupted backups with 2 differents rom ... statisticaly it's at least surprising)

Don;'t just mess up with the phone now until you have a working backup. Always remember to keep copies of backup in case anyhting goes wrong. One to your phone and another to PC or any place where you know that it won't be touched

S3 MINI i8190 IMEI NULL after cyanogenmod update

Hi guys,
Yesterday I updated my cyanogenmod 11 with newest version doing a wipe cache first. After rebooting my phone seems to have an issue: the IMEI is null and I can't call or receive calls.
So I decided to flash the stock rom with odin, I thought that this could help, but nothing to do, the IMEI is still null and I can't use the phone
The first time I installed cyanogen I made a backup (using TWRP function), looking for that backup files, I discovered a file called efs.ext4.win, but if I try to open it with an unrar program, I see these files inside:
\.files
\bluetooth
\FactoryApp
\imei
\RFHAL
\RFHAL.DEF
\wifi
GUARDFIL
gyro_cal_data
pre_recovery.log
I don't see any "nv_data.bin" file or something like that. Is that normal?
Anyway, I think that EFS folder is corrupt or missing, i don't know. Is there a way to solve this issue? Thank you.

I tried to restore EFS folder using TWRP and my backup, but nothing changed, I still don't have Imei and baseband.
Do you think that flashing a PIT file could help me?
Thank you so much.
