go to /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/date
see every file's md5sum and write it on a paper now open nandroid.md5 with a text editor and retype all the md5 code which you noted on a paper

Aaa..wait if i delete the backups folder will the new bacups that i will make after deleting the bakup folder work?will they gi back to normal and dont mismatch?

rogers dream can't load any update.zip

i went thru the steps here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4280573#post4280573
and everything seems to work
i am using the 2gb sandisk sd micro card that came with my phone
step 22 is where things dont work
i tryed http://db.androidspin.com/android_build_information.asp and the cyanogenMOD and then several others
i always get the message ' installation aborted'
i thought maybe i was hitting extra buttons but i tried both the keyboard menu button and screen menu button (to start instillation)
i went back and tryed step 6 again and it wont load that update.zip (spl-signed.zip)
but (now i did this late lastnight and my memory isnt 100%) it did work the first time
now well i dont know what to do
from my understanding putting the update.zip on the root of the card is as simple as copying the update.zip to the card? (im using windows xp)
ok sorry if there is an answer somewhere but i tryed searching and could not find one
please help
thanks!
May be just a simple oversight, but make sure that Windows isn't inadvertantly adding the zip part to the file without you noticing. If you have the file extensions hidden (in windows explorer window under tools>folder options>view)
then the name of the file should be update. If you don't have the file extensions hidden, then the name should be update.zip
This has tripped many, many people up so just double check.
So my winxp is set to show file extensions and I as I understand the file would be update.zip.zip ? Well this is not the case but thank you
:/
no one else has had this issue ? Really ? Lucky me :/
Hey, does it just say "Installation Aborted" it shud say something before that...such as cant chown blah blah...(a reason basically)....also i had file transfer problems in xp too one quick way to solve it is get a hash verifier and make sure the update.zip on ur sd matches that of the dev's md5...
So no it doesn't have any other message if it did I would post it :/
Hey could somone try emailing me an update.zip that has worked rentoneffATgooglemail.com

[Q] How to get rid of md5 check in CWM recovery ?

[Solved]
I found this topic : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=714114
Sorry !
Hi,
I'm sorry to bother you guys, but I made some search about this and didn't find a satisfying answer.
I'm under hardcore K12L kernel, and I need to restore a dbdata.img.
I didn't change the repertory name of the backup, neither the name of the files (I only have dbdata.img and cache.img).
Before that, I had a data.img but I used voodoo cwm to restore it, because hardcore cwm wasn't able to restore it.
And then I came back on hardcore cwm to restore dbdata (voodoo cwm searched for a "datadata.img), and deleted data.img, had then md5 mismatch, so I deleted data.img line in the nandroids.md5 file, but then I had again an md5 mismatch.
I tried to regenerate md5sum with a md5 tool, which gave me logically the same exast md5 that i already have in my backup md5 file (so i guess the md5 check should be correct), but still, when I want to restore it, I always get a md5 mismatch.
How to get rid of this ? Could you help me please ?
PS : An option "enable/disable md5 check" in CWM would be really nice to avoid such problems. ^^
you are not the only one, i have the same issue, can someone help pls!!!
Go read the topic I linked to in my first post, and feel free to ask more details there or here if u need some help. My phone can tell, it can be done !

[RELEASE][NANDROID] Rooted Factory-Stock ROM

Hi all!
Well, thanks to everyone for their donations-- without you, this wouldn't be possible.
I present to you, one stepping stone towards custom ROMs: the shipping ROM on the device, backed up as a NANDROID.
What is this?
This is the shipping ROM on the device. There are no changes to this ROM besides being rooted.
Click to collapse
How do I use this?
Extract the contents of this file to your SD card (external SD card) under
Code:
/clockworkmod/backups/
and you will end up with a
Code:
/clockworkmod/backups/revo_stock
folder.
Run Clockwork on your device, and select "Backups and Restore" then "Advanced Restore". Select "revo_stock" as the backup to restore, and choose to restore ONLY "system".
(You can also restore boot.img, but it is unnecessary, and I only left that in there for future use.)
Click to collapse
What does this backup include?
This backup ONLY includes /system and boot.img. There is no recovery.img in this backup, nor is there a /data or /cache.
Click to collapse
Will I lose my apps or information if I restore this backup?
No you will not, this backup will not touch your /data partition.
Click to collapse
Why is this useful?
Accidentally erased something important in /system?
Removed something and now 4g Hotspot doesn't work?
Restore this, and it'll fix that... of course all the stock OS will come back, but hey-- you get a second chance

Extract through windows and put on your SD card in the proper folder.
its telling me that i have a md5 mismatch!!! i will try downloading it again.
Thanks cube please keep up the hard work! I wish I could do something to help other then sending some $$$ I would love to help bring the revolution along.
Viva la revolution.
Did anybody use this yet. i tried and it says my md5 does not match. i tried numerous times
Haven't tried it yet but I checked the MD5 against the images and they are correct.
Ah, sorry, forgot to state select "Advanced Restore" or whatever it's called-- JUST restore system.img.
If you select "Restore" it looks for the /data and recovery.img in the nandroid.md5 file, and when it doesn't find it, it errors out with an md5 error.
I'll edit the instructions now...
Just tested this. I can't advanced restore the system.img either. Comes back with MD5 mismatch. I can restore my own backups without a hitch however.
[Edit] I forgot to mention. There's a carriage return on the Rooted Factory-Stock ROM MD5 file. Removing it didn't seem to matter. I was thinking that maybe it was the culprit.
Agh! you just gave me the answer... I saved it in windows, rather than linux, so the line endings are wrong...
If you're able to, just open the file nandroid.md5 in Notepad++ or something like it, and remove the extra blank line, and change the line endings to UNIX style.
Thanks, I'll re-upload the .zip when I'm on a faster connection.
The actual .img files themselves are good, though.

Is there a version of this with everything? In other words, not just system but data, etc. I somehow am stuck in CWR...don't have a nandroid backup. I pushed this to the right place on the SD card, did the system restore, but it still repeatedly boots into CWR. Is there anything that will do a FULL restore instead of just system?
Thanks in advance.

Hm, so you did a data wipe from within Android. Yep, that'll get you stuck in CWR, but it's not a problem with the backup, it's that the LG bootloader isn't happy with Clockwork.
When installing Clockwork, did you make the p8 backup?
so im having the same problem i even started a thread too but im an idiot and didnt make that p8 backup because the md5sum didnt match so i stopped there but clockwork still seem to flashed to the phone now im in clockwork everytime i boot up was wondering any way to work around this if not guess imma just get a new phone until there is a way

There is a way, I just haven't written it into an easy-to-use program yet.
For now, if you haven't made a p8 backup, the easiest method is for you to come on IRC and have me adb into your phone and fix it for you.
If I get a spare moment though, I will work on a stuckinclockwork.zip that you can flash using clockwork to get you out of clockwork.

I need some help. EFS empty folder and no backup

Hi, Im Penny and Im from venezuela.
I just got an Galaxy Note, a friend gave it to me, but the problem is it cant accept SIM card.
I have read a lots of guides and stuff, but neither my friend or I have any efs files backup.
In settings there is no Bandbase (unknow), Android version is 2.3.5 and kernel is 2.6.35.7-N7000XXKJ4-CL641703 [email protected] #2
So, i read something about rooting and stuff, I already did, but there IS NO FILES in efs folder. And there is no IMEI neither
when i do *#06#
I tried putting a stock rom, but there still the problem there. I read in a forum a guy that someone gave him some
Galaxy Note efs files, he restore them and it works. So i really dont know what to do.
Can some give me some help and give me efs files and see if I can repair this? I really need this because im planning to selling this (because i need the money).
Thank you and sorry for my pretty bad english.
** Edit: TO THE MODS:
Note: If this post breaches any rules, please remove (I'm learning bout this)
I am having the same problem. If anyone have the /efs files, please send to me as well.
** I am able to use the hex editor, only will change it back to my original IMEI, not going to use other people IMEI.
TO THE MODS:
Note: If this post breaches any rules, please remove my post as well. tq..
No one in the right mind is going to upload their efs folder containing their imei and serials and addresses
It is possible to change imei but I suggest you don't do it as it is highly illegal and carries a prison sentence, but if you try then start with a hex editor and look inside the nv_data.bin - if you can edit it only edit it to your original imei or that's where you run the risk of being bummed by some big steroid infested guy in the showers.
TO THE MODS:
If this post breaches any rules then please remove it asap

Exactly what azzledazzle said.. Read that post thoroughly, the one he linked and try if it works for you. The EFS folder contains highly sensitive data, the very reason I couldn't send you the file! Hope you get it..
Try if it works for you..

Try to restore my backup but got this error
"md5 mismatch!"
********************
Problem solve, I'm realy noob and dont understand what is adb shell..this problem happen maybe because I rename my backup..so I do this trick, mybe will help others.
••STEP:
1. Make sure you have enough space to make new backup on sd-card
2. Make new backup ( nandroid backup )
3. Rename old backup with new backup name.
Now you should can restore the backup that have this error before..

Ok try this
Install latest version of titanium
Open titanium -menu -extract from nandroid backup
And select your backup, it will give you.list of available.data, select.required.data.
Thats it.

yes a folder with the date created is getting created in the storage.. some times does anywher between 200- 300mb, sometimes just 16 to 50 mb in size... ive flashed the latest CM10 kernel and the latest SuperSU according to another post... still no go...
if nandroid is very important for u. The go back to stock root, put safe kernel, wipe and then try to do backup
okay it finally worked after flashing the latest CM10 .tar through odin
Thanks for all ur help!!!
My problem and how I fixed it.
I made a nandroid backup. WHen it creates it, ya see it ceates it with a date.
I backed up the backup 3 times on my pc. but i renamed it to something like: Galaxy Note backup 2 Jan 10th 2013
then when i went to do a restore, MD5 Mismatch, so i read here no spaces, so i just renamed it to: notebackup
no spaces... and bang it worked. so make sure u dont have any spaces in it. it can be named whatever u want just no spaces.
hope that helps anyone...
Good Luck
I've a backup file, which I neither renamed or have any spaces in the file.. How come that When I'm trying to restore the file, its saying MD5 Mismatch. I've a GT-N7000..

You just qouted one of the solutions, and other solution is in the first post
Why not start some reading first...
The Problem is that I just checked, the Backup file Folder, & found that there is no MD5 file created.. How is this Possible?? Can I copy/Paste a MD5 File from one of the newer backups that I've in the Older Backup where there is no MD5 file & then try to restore?
Will I be able to do this?
