Have tried two different roms, (Paranoid ics and JB)...both with full wipe.
Have media scanner disabled.
Its the charger I think, same thing happens with mine with the stock charger.
But when I use my wifes galaxy s 2 charger it charges up no problem and twice as fast.
Charge It to full continously and then Wipe battery stats under the advanced menu of Recovery. Now reboot system and use your phone until your phone gets drained completely. Now charge it again to full continuously. It will be solved. If its a hardware fault you have to check with your charger. Replace it and see if it will solved
Hope it helps.
Thanks
Thanks
I have the same problem, but on stock ICS. What does the suggested method really do?
it recallibrates the battery... or it could just be a charger fault not able to supply enof current
might want to read this about battery calibrationHERE
If your phone is doing this then it is using more charge than receiving. Make sure you use a proper charger (not cheap one or usb) and problem should stop.

Hey I am using CM10.1 with it's stock kernel. I've been facing this problem suddenly too. The battery drains while charging. I tried using different cables and chargers, Hell! I bought a new battery from the Samsung store and tried it too. I tried factory resetting, wiping cache and all too, still nothing. Could you help me out in this? Thanks in advance.

Hi guys, I have been into a lot of gaming with my Note and my problem is that even with the phone plugged in the AC charger it runs out of juice and turns off while I'm playing.I am currently using CleaNote v5 ROM with the default kernel (Notecore 12.3) as I am having problems with the v14 & v14.1 (phone gets stuck when opening certain apps and needs to be rebooted).
Is there anything I can do (buy a better charger/battery, flash a better ROM or kernel) so that the Note can draw sufficient power from the charger and not drain while playing games? I just don't want it to die while I'm in the middle of playing even when it's plugged in and become unusable for several minutes.
Any suggestions will be highly appreciated. Cheers :good:
Are you using the original Samsung charger?

I'm using a genuine iPhone wall charger in the lounge with a 2 meter USB cable. Will the length of the cable affect the charging? I think the iPhone charger have the same specs as the Samsung charger.
Unfortunately I don't know if the length of the usb cable has anything to do with the slow charge.
Have you tried with any other charger to see any difference? Or at least with another cable?

Are you on OC version of Notecore ? If so downgrade to STD version or flash Speedmod. Its better on battery comparing to Notecore. Notecore gives you performance but don't think its battery friendly.
You can also try Battery Calibration from playstore to improve the stats. Just make a full charge of your battery and open Battery Calibration. Hit Start and follow the instructions there.
Drain after Paranoid Android
Hey that`s my first post and I hope that's the right way to ask for help...
I was running Paranoid Android 0.5 based on CM9. Then I flashed PA bsed on CM10. There I got an awful battery drain. So I flashed back to PA 0.5. But know the problem was there too. Even flashing to Samsung stock Gingerbread/ICS with ODIN didn't solved the problem. In Airplane mode the phone still hold for days but with airplane mode off and only mobile phone it drains fast. Also to mentioned I forgot to fullwipe flashing the ROMs forth and back. Would a fullwipe solve the problem?

The length of the cord does affect charging.
I use a 5m usb cord which takes quite a while to charge compared to the normal cable (but am able to move around freely).

Will try that the next days. thanks so far
As of a few days ago i can no longer use the device while on the charger without losing charge....fast! (ive used the device while charging for the past 9mo).
Same on any kernel, any rom....any of the 3 Samsung batteries I have.
Any ideas?
Is the phone warming up or getting uncomfortably hot? The only thing i could think of is the battery has reched the end of its useful life..
===EDIT===
I was not able to read the last part that you said you tried 3 diff batteries.. LOL my bad..
Mostly it happens when you use incompatible charges (Not the original ones) which doesn't charge battery to its full voltage.
Replace it and check if its solved. If not you can calibrate battery or replace the battery.
Check battery status under settings and see if you have a file running "gpsd". A few times this bug would hit my phone using 63% and drain my battery while charging.
I would have it charge all night to disconnect in the morning and get a warning my battery us low.
To fix I would place my phone in airplane mode, turn off and turn back on, remove airplane mode and it would be back to normal.
Check to see if you have the bug.

Try to install betterbatterystats and check for any wakelocks on your phone. Wakelocks are dreaded battery juice killers. And I agree, turn off your phone at night and in the morning, check back on the BBS what process is working at the background (of your phone).

This problem is occurred to me also. all my devices are original.
this problem was found only when I used stock rom ics 4.0.4, but not found with custom rom as paranoid, cm9, cm10 etc.
try to flash custom rom, you will solve the problem.
Mine has allways done this, whether stock or custom rom. With orginall charger too. I put it down in my case due to being on skype. It also gets vvhot. This is with the original bat.also a samsung spare.

OK I had this problem before, and I solved it by changing charger and clean rom install, I think it is a mix of hardware and software issue, hardware as it is linked with no. Of pin in the charger, I think when the phone discharge while charging the phone see the cable as USB otg so it give it power, any way, change the charger and install any from with trying different kernels

Hi,
I received the ordered product couple of days back - New Samsung Battery EB575152LU for Galaxy S SL Plus i9001
I did plugged my cellphone to wall charger straight for more than 8 hours. Firstly, it could charge only to 60%+. I did a quick google to land upon a method of charging and discharging the new battery to extreme limits. I practiced. Unfortunately, it has been more than two days now. The battery is taking more than 10 hours to charge.
Problems -
The battery takes more than 10 hours to charge to 60%+
It doesn't charge beyond 70%+. The phone is shutdown and charging takes place again from 0%.
This is quite frustrating considering it's very new battery I had ordered. I have already tried different chargers and USB cables. All in vain. I have read numerous threads and posts, and did like it all said. None of them has helped me.
Please help me.
Phone details :
Slimbean (4.2.2 build 6)
GT-I9001
Thanks in advance.
not sure if this will work as it could be a faulty battery, but have you tried clearing battery states from cwm recovery
Battery won't charge beyond 0%
People,
I have tried the new charger and new battery. The phone is not charging beyond 0%. The area around the Camera gets damn hot. Might it be a ROM issue? A bug or something?
I used to run Slimbean very smooth, until I faced this problem.
I researched a lot, and I have tried many things. But this frustrating problem still persists.
I hate to restore the phone to stock ROM.
If it's a hardware failure, how can I be sure of it?
Need urgent help.
Clarification

Battery drawing less current
Hello,
I have bought a new battery. I tried changing chargers and wires. However, I installed a widget and got to know my battery draws only 233ma current from the mains as well as USB charging.
Is it the normal stats considering genuine charger comes with 0.7~1 A O/P ? I believe this is definitely less than the normal current flow.
How could I reinstate the normal flow?
Is there a way to reconfigure the circuit as pointed out in above reply?
Could please point out the hardware failure? How can I be certain of it?
Please help. I'm in deep need of it.
Symptoms:
Area near the camera gets damn hot. (Temp: 70~80 deg cel)
Battery does show progressive charging. It takes more than 15 mins to increase the charge by 1%. This is definitely due to low current flowing.
Above of all, this is degrading my battery life. Thanks in advance
This is already my second turbo which has such problems. When I connect it to the charger, phone says that it's charching but it's not, nor is it draining battery.
e.g.: If battery's on 10%, after 5 hours of charching it will still be on %10. But once I remove it battery starts to drain normally
The phone just won't charge. I've tried everything, wireless chargers, old chargers, cleaning ports.
I have even dissasembled battery and charged it directly and it worked. Nothing seems to be burned on mainboard, but who knows...
Has anyone encountered such a problem? I am quite familiar with solder and phone dissasembly. If anyone can indicate, which chip is responsible for charching, I would try to fix it and post a guide.
Hello Nikoloz17, I haven't experienced this with Turbo but with Razr Maxx. Exact same symtoms was solved by replacing the battery. So, instead of messing with mainboard, you can try a different original battery in the first place.
Hi,
Thanks for your swift reply, but sadly problem is not in the battery, since as I said, removed it and charged it directly with couple of wires and correct voltage. Battery charged to 100%
Plus as I said, I have two of these phones, so if anyone has any ideas just message and i'll mess with them
do wipe data & cach on recovery.
if dosent work, flash stock firmware.
sorry for eng.
I found that mine did this just recently. I had to use a new cable to get it to work.

I've had this happen to two of my Turbos. It use to worry the piss out of me. The thing that fixed it was to use the original charging cord & charger that came with it.
I'm facing same issue after changing the battery to a new one. One thing I noticed is it shows incorrect CPU temperature in recovery. I tried clearing cache, reflashing software, checking connections, different chargers and wires but nothing. It dies get connected through USB.
I believe it's something to do with the temperature sensor. If anyone knows where exactly it is and what can be done please reply. I don't know how many days my phone will last on battery saving mode. T_T
phone says 100% but says 80% when off charging
Tried:-
1. 2 different battery callibration apps
2. charging 100%, depleting battery. repeated process a couple of times
3. Switched to Stock (Rooted), 2 Custom ROMs (Waited till it was 100% on both on and off before flashing)
Notes:-
1. Battery seems perfectly fine (takes a while before depleting and doesnt deplete before 0%)
Currently using stock rooted
l would start with replacing the cable and charger to make sure you are getting a full charge. Then monitor the usage time on your phone over a few weeks and see if the time to empty is getting less that is a sure sign of a bad battery
Recheck with another fast charger. Generally, we cannot say if is a faulty cable or you have an faulty adapter. I hope the device chargeboard is not shot/motherboard driven related issue. Also, have you recovered the device using Samsung Kies- Emergency firmware recovery?

- different cable with original charger 1.30hr

I tried a smart switch recovery. Same conclusion which makes me think its a hardware issue

With original charger it takes 6hrs!!! Holy ****
I think its a usb port problem for sure.. Do one thing while connected to the charger go to device maintenance and open battery menu and see if it say charging via AC or USB if while us8ng the original charger it shows Chaging via USB then certainly its the port that has gone faulty..
Hit thanks if helped
Hello everyone! Though its not the right place to ask the question but I have been seeking solution to my problem from months. Long time before, my Galaxy Note II started to behave differently. Whenever I charged it completely, the phone worked normally till 75% to 80% and all of sudden a =low battery warning indication appears and phone proceeds to shut down. I tried changing ROM and calibrating the battery again but nothing worked. Finally I replaced the battery with a new one and also clean flashed another ROM in a hope to see if the problem is gone or still there. But to my surprise the problem is still intact. Now, when I turn on the phone the battery is 90% and when I keep using it, it drains normally, but as soon it reaches round about 80%, it turns off randomly. When I turn the phone back on the battery is still at the same percentage level at which is turns off. I believe there is not an issue with the battery. Please help me what to do, I am using TWRP recovery that doesn't gives the battery stats wipe option too. Should I flash a new ROM again? I would greatly appreciate if someone please helps me in sorting this problem.
What I have already done!
1. Replaced the battery
2. Changed the ROM
3. Re-calibrated the battery

I have noticed the same issue, I think. I suspect it is a general bug.
Guys, try charging your phone while in Android. When it reads 100%, switch off your device. Either leave the charge cable attached or reattach it after you have switched off. Now wait for the off-line charging icon to appear. Unless I'm mistaken, the percentage won't correspond with whatever your phone reports while your in Android. If Android says 100%, this will be a lower number. And off-line charging will keep on charging until you reach 100%.

Sorry for the late response. Internet finished, had to wait until the renewal date. During this time, i wiped the rom and re-installed it (Khongloi V11). Since there was no internet, i didnt sign in any accounts, Switched off the location. The phone surprisingly took 3 days before reaching 0.
Indeed, it says USB Charging 6hrs. I sometimes keep plugging and unplugging, it changes to A/C 2hrs.
I have this problem too. But I change batt_capacity_max to 1000, phone on 100% phone off 100%. If we recharge to full it will return to the same state (phone on 100, phone off ~80) so i need to change again. I don't know if this destroy my battery life ? I don't know why. I thought I'm the only 1 who have this problem? (sorry for my bad english)
I think this may be a software/firmware problem, not a problem with the battery.

I figured that was the problem but i tried it with three different roms (Khongloi V11, Final, Stock).
Maybe it's some kind of battery protection thing created when your battery is old or something?

The various ROMs may all use the same battery raportage code, which doesn't account for this discrepancy. After all, most ROMs are just fancy reskins of stock Android.
That said, maybe Samsung support can shed some light on what's going on.
On a side note? Is there anyone who reads this thread, whose reported battery charge (in percentages) is the same in Android as when the device is switched off and charging?
So... any solutions?
