I hear you bro, Its about GODDAM TIME samsung releases ics for 8.9 3g ! Its been what? two weeks since the release for P7310? WTF! They're releasing Jelly bean for the newest devices, but will refrain from rolling ICS on the tabs?
I TELL YOU WHAT: These delays are DELIBERATE because the want to FORCE us to buy the newer tablets, but guess WHAT? Im not buying samsung again my nigga
and I dont think flashing broken ports are even an option for those who rely on the tablet for productivity/study like me. Im freaking hatin samsung right now that i am!!
Does anyone have any info?

Hey guys, my friend has a T-Mobile locked Galaxy S (which he doesn't want to unlock) and he is still on 2.1, I could've sworn froyo had been released but he is saying kies is showing that no update is available, I never had this issue when I used to have my galaxy s, being unlocked meant I was always using the latest fw's. Just looking for some clarification on this issue, thanks in advance. On an unrelated note I will be rejoining android tomorrow or Tuesday, I have now sold my iPhone 4 in favour of the desire HD.
Edit: just realised my stupid iPhone has renamed froyo to group in the title :-(
I noticed on the Rogers site that it still lists the OS as 2.3 so I was wondering if rogers has sent out the ICS to all their galaxy notes yet. Specifically I live in the Vancouver area if that makes any difference. I'll definitely be looking into flashing a custom rom if they still haven't pushed it out yet, but please let me know if anyone has had any luck yet.
Thanks!
I think for the Rogers version of the note this needs to be moved to the
AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717 Q&A section. Sorry for that!
The Rogers ICS update for the Galaxy Note is not yet available. The most recent news is that the update will be available in Q2, and since it is June, that doesn't leave much time. Rogers may just ignore that deadline though, because they don't really care about letting anyone know their schedule. Samsung have already stated that the update is ready on their end, and they have given it to Rogers, so Rogers are just taking their sweet time adding their own crap to it. This means the Rogers ICS will be bloat (Rogers crap) on top of bloat (Samsung TouchWiz) on top of ICS!
The update will be done through Kies, as Rogers doesn't like OTA updates. Sorry.
P.S. - If it helps, Telus have said their update will be out on July 13th.
Update
Just to update this thread.....I just received my ICS update today. I just happened to pick my Note up and there was a message on the screen saying "Update Available". I clicked on the download button and the whole process took about 15 minutes. And I have to add.....ICS is sweeeeet!
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini that was brought to me because the user was experiencing trouble connecting to the T-mobile network. There would be cell service for about an hour, after which all service would be lost. The problem is reported to have started after performing an update a few weeks ago, which the user thinks was a firmware update. Now, the phone receives no cell service at all. I should also add that the phone was purchased through Groupon, and because of that they were told (by T-mobile) that they'd have to send the phone to China if they want it fixed.
Now this is where it starts getting pretty complicated. First, I tried checking the phone's IMEI number on imei.info. The result shows a Motorola W375 flip phone, not the Galaxy S3. I'm not sure what this means. Secondly, the model number of the phone is GT-I8200L which means that it's for the Latin American market. But it was working for 2 months, so I'm guessing it's not an issue with the hardware?
I'm pretty tech-savvy, but I'm by no means an expert when it comes to fixing phones, so I have no idea what to do at this point. The phone doesn't appear to be unlocked, since my (non-T-mobile) SIM card doesn't work. I'm finding lots of articles for things like "flashing firmware" and whatnot, but I don't know whether this would help. Maybe it's a lost cause at this point?
I'd greatly appreciate any help!
Its a known problem with a Samsung update! There must be a new OTA update from Samsung! Try this!

Thanks for your reply! But there seems to be no new updates. It says that the latest updates are already installed. The Android version is 4.2.2.
Where you from?

Try to flash an older firmware from Samsung

Hello, I have done some research and I have realised that the Note 2 is the same as the S3 LTE (Correct me if i'm wrong).
This Galaxy Note 2 is getting updated to Lollipop, if that is the case, then why is the i9305 not getting updated...
Samsung have already said the Original S3 cannot be updated to Lollipop as it only has 1GB, while the S3 LTE has 2GB RAM, the Note 2 with also 2GB RAM. What is suprising is that the S4 Mini and S5 Mini has 1.5GB RAM and they have both been confirmed to be updated to Lollipop.
Is this something that only I am seeing? If other phones with 1.5GB RAM get the update, surely the S3 LTE should as well.
Thanks.
Personally I like 4.4.4 much more than 5.1. Kudos to Samsung for bringing even 4.4.4 to an rather old device like S3 LTE.

even if it doesnt come to s3 lte, becuase the note 2 and s3 lte are basicly the same, the rom can be ported over
Yes, Samsung deserve recognition for even bothering to update the S3 LTE, but it does seem a bit stupid not to release Lollipop for the i9305 when the Note 2 is getting updated.

With Samsung tho there is not concrete proof that they will release something until they actually release it

I would be very surprised if either device was updated to lollipop. It doesn't make sense from a business point of view to invest in two old devices when their priority would have to be giving customers incentive to upgrade to newer ones

Samsung have confirmed that the Note 2 and the Note 2 LTE is going to get updated to 5.0.1, either way it is good as hopefully it can be ported over to our i9305.
Literally on my way to purchase a LTE Galaxy Tab S2 but don't know if I should get the Verizon or Tmobile version. I want the Verizon one but if it can't be rooted without losing LTE, then I will settle for the Tmobile version.
Anyone wants to chime in? I did a quick search but didn't find a clear, straightforward answer.
TIA!

Damn, I don't know it. I ordered it in-store and it should be delivered eitehr tomorrow or Tuesday. I guess I will keep my fingers crossed that I get a model that is rootable.
Seeing that the Tab S2 for Verizon is not rootable because of the locked bootloader, I have decided to return it and ordered the Asus Zenpad Z10 instead.
I see that the Asus Zenpad Z8 has already been rooted, so i expect the Z10 will probably be rootable as well.
Now I'm wondering if the Tab S2 was a better buy all things considered, over the Zenpad Z10.
