I upgraded the firmware to Android Version 4.0.4 a couple of days ago. Since then when ever I open a pic attached to a link in Gmail, the brightness reduces even I have adjusted the resolution to the max. Can anyone help!
Check your settings>display?

Yes that is normal and it can be disabled by going to settings>>display>> and untick Auto adjust screen power....
And if the pic opens up in browser....then press menu key and open brightness and color...and untick auto brightness so u can adjust the brightness manually...

Try going to ur stock browser.. Hit menu button... Then select brightness & color... Remove auto brightness from there... And set to max...

Thank you, not sure if it was my imagination but since switching to ics it seemed my screen was brighter even at 0%. This app fixed that I also think it helped with my battery drain problem. Have to use it a few more days to be sure, but it looks promising!

Your screen goes strange, there are fading lines slowly showing up your screen and they finally covering up the whole screen. The only way to get rid of them is by locking the screen, but then when you open it, some of the lines remain, they look line leaked lights from every corner of your screen phone

Whoa! That scared me
It scared the hell out of me, I was reading paths in init.x3.rc to find tegra governers and instead saw something about smart dimmer, I thought that must be the limit brightness temperature thing but I was wrong, luckily there are things in place to prevent such fatal errors
