Hard shell cases - Nexus 7 Accessories

I am looking for a case that will provide good protection when I place the tablet in my backpack with books and notebooks and other stuff.
In this case, should I get a regular folio case (I have been looking at Blurex Magyc Folio and also the ultra-slim version) or a hardshell case?
I have been reading reports that the Nexus 7 screen cracks easily, so I am a little worried.
Thanks.

I personally use a crystal clear hard shell back (in part to allow the nice dimpled back and Nexus logo to show through) combined with a padded sleeve to transport my Nexus 7. Works well for me, protects the tablet well during transport, and keeps the tablet thin when in use. I personally hate having to fold any sort of cover back when in use.

Can you tell the exact name of the products you're using or provide links so that I can have a look?
Thanks.

sleeve/ soft cases

I don't want a case that covers the bezel or the back, just something to protect my n10 when it is slung in my backpack or messenger bag.
Does anyone know if these will fit the n10?
Samsung Textile Pouch
Kensington Soft Carrying Case
Proporta Perfora which is listed as a Nexus 10 case but seems to be a netbook case so will likely be too thick.
I am thinking about a sleeve myself.
To protect the nexus 10 while not in use or carrying it, but not to add bulk to the tablet while in use.
I am thinking about picking up a case logic sleeve.

Will this fit?

I'd like to know too. You can get it through Amazon cheaper http://www.amazon.com/Case-Logic-LA...id=1353866151&sr=1-1&keywords=LAPST-110-BLACK and their return procedure is pretty painless.
I'd try it myself but my N10 hasn't arrived yet and I want to try the Galaxy Tab 10.1 accessories I already have before buying more "stuff".
Let us know.
I picked up this HP case (based on a recommendation in another thread):
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+Mini+Laptop+Sleeve/9926416.p?id=1218196187925&skuId=9926416
I picked it up off of Amazon for $10, but the picture over on Amazon is not correct (this picture on BestBuy is correct). It has padding on both sides of the device in the main pocket plus a second zippered pocket for cable, headphones, charger etc. It is the right size and the N10 fits in the case right; but, I am sure there are smaller cases if you don't need the large second pocket across the whole case. I picked this case up to have it available now as I am watching other cases being released. I also have three more different cases on order for different situations. My favorite so far is the Poetic Slimline case, but it is not available until the end of December. Good luck.
This Samsung-made pouch fits damn-near perfect:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0055193HU/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00
It fits pretty tight at first, but loosens up over about 10 insertions and removals. It doesn't cover 100% of the tablet though, there's still about ~3mm of the tablet exposed at the open end. To me it's negligible, since it's used to place the tablet into my backpack.
And it's less than 11 bucks.
I didn't want some big hard cover, just a sleeve, but also didn't want to spend any money on it so just made my own last night using half of a full-desk neoprene gaming mousemat and a needle exactly what i was after for simply carrying it around and such. It's not perfect but it was free and does it's job ut great

I love these kind of comments
FYI, I bought this one
http://www.amazon.co.uk/V7-Protective-Sleeve-iPads-Tablets/dp/B0085JT0BS/
Its quite thick (~30mm) with the Nexus 10 inside, but I felt the bubbles inside should really help protect the screen when its in my laptop bag.
The zip closes no problem, but it wouldn't take a tablet even a few mm taller(in portrait), width-wise(also in portrait) there is a good 20mm space. The padding is quite thin on the zip and edges, protected, but not as well as the main faces. I feel it is a good buy.

I like the looks of this one, because while I think I'll be using the thing naked most of the time, I know I need a sleeve, plus this one can prop the unit up if I want to watch a movie on an airplane or something.

ASUS Versasleeve
Using an ASUS Versasleeve (sold TF700) and it works great. Fit is perfect and case doubles as a stand with two positions (typing and viewing). I prefer using my tablets naked and have been through 5+ cases before deciding on the Versasleeve.

I tried this case from LLC but the N10 was too wide to fit in. I'm hoping for something like this to come out for the N10. The magnetic top closes it nicely and keeps it folded when you use it as a folio style stand. It's also paper thin. If anyone has a line on something like this for the N10 please post:

If anyone lives in the UK, I just bought a laptop neoprene case from pound land for £1 while I wait for my Poetic Slimline case to arrive from amazon. It may not be a perfect fit, but it definitely gets the job done.

Can't go too wrong for $10.62 delivered. Goo designs a beautiful product and then tells the user to either risk carrying it around naked or put it into a case that will defeat their design efforts? I believe the cover they promoted, if it had been available, would have have helped them to sell more tablets.

Thanks for the tip. I've tried it with mine and I almost didn't get it out and then sold it with my Galaxy Tab 10.1. I loved the pouch because it was very slim, minimalistic and the tablet was slightly protected when it was just laying around on the couch or when I put it in my laptop bag.
Unfortunately it's 22€ on Amazon.de (around $25) but I think it's still worth it since I hate it when a case is completely attached to the tablet.

That is a really nice looking sleeve. Quite pricey but could be tempted to pick one up when my nexus 10 arrives
Ordered this one
http://www.ebay.com/itm/170933946177?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
+ pre-ordered the Slimline on Amazon.
Will post review when I get it
P.S. UPS shows tracking that my Nexus 10 will be here today...Woohoo
Got a few pictures of the Galaxy Tab Case and the Asus Versasleeve.
The galaxy case is housing the N10 pretty well at this point, with almost 0 protrusion of the tablet.
Overall, I think I will be using the Versasleeve. I remember people complaining about the plastic smell on the Nexus 7 poetic cases, but holy hell this Asus case is much worse in the magnitude of smell.
Other than the ugly brown, I think it'll work well.

Simple Plastic Case

Hey,
I am looking for a simple hard/soft case for my N10.
Either a hard plastic case, a soft rubber case, or those combination types. I don't want a stand or anything like that, just a simple case.
Any ideas?

I haven't found the current crop of available cases compelling, but I also wanted a simple case for basic protection in the meantime. I found a nice generic neoprene sleeve with a closure that folds over the open end after you slide the tablet in. It's designed for a tablet the same length as the Nexus 10, but is about 3/4 of an inch wider than necessary for the tablet. So...it's not perfect, but it's nice, functional and convenient....and it cost me all of $5 at Five Below. BTW, they have a similar neoprene sleeve that fits the Nexus 7 perfectly, having been designed for one of the Kindles.
The neoprene sleeve will hold me just fine until I find something I really like.

Looking for a silicone or rubber slip on case for the nook HD+

Just bought the HD+, running cm10 from sdcard and now I need to get rolling on accessories. Anyone turn up a slip on case? I'm not really into the leather trapperkeeper style.

That is a TPU case. It is flexible but is more of a hard rubber type case. I could not find ANY soft silicone cases for the Nook HD+. There are a couple of decal type skins out there which applies on like the wet type screen protector. Don't know how well they protect. I'd go with the TPU if it's between the two.

I got the tpu case in today. Seems like shipping took forever. I give the case about a 7/10. Closest I could find to black was a smoke color. Its kind of a clear gray color. It fits, loosely. The sides are not very tight. Its not gonna fall off the tablet but its easy to roll the case off the sides with your thumbs. I can't speak for the drop protection, seems like it might be OK. Sure makes it easier to grip, and not bulky like the leather trapper keeper style cases.

Mine just came today. I found out that the same thing was listed on amazon by the sameguy for a couple of dollars cheaper (not that it was expensive to begin with). Same impression as you, it is loose and not that tight. Don't like the bottom where there is one very long opening for the sd card slot and data connector. Makes things very loose down there. Definitely less bulk than my cover, good for home use, but I would put on my cover whentaking it with me somewhere.
Silicone Case
I know this is an old thread but since it was pertinent...
I got the Poetic GraphGrip Silicone Case in black for my HD+. Fits well but does add a bit more bulk, mainly thickness wise, than other silicone covers I've used on other devices. The square graph pattern is pronounced. Edges and back are well protected. Seems like it will be great protection in anything but a flat fall directly on the screen. This is the only silicone sleeve I can find. I wish there was one without the graph pattern.
I have a folio type cover but will likely only use that if traveling. I prefer to use a dedicated stand at the desk or tabletop and so need protection on the device like this in combination with a zipper sleeve or bag for carrying.

I also purchased the Poetic Graph Grip Silicone case for the same reasons, and I'm glad I did. Some people complained that the bottom is loose but I do not see that, it has cut outs for the power cord and the memory card slot so when accessing the ports it will flex a little but it's definitely not loose. I found this sleeve on amazon that fits perfectly with the case.
http://www.amazon.com/Mivizu-Sleeve...e+for+Apple+iPad+5,+Amazon+Kindle+Fire+HD+8.9
The outside is nylon and feels very well made. The sleeve's height is spot on and only leaves about .75 extra space for the width.

Looking for a Particular style case.

I've been looking, but I can not find one like this on Amazon, eBay, or in the forums to save my life, but I have seen people using it, and the few I was able to ask all said it was a gift and they don't know where it came from.
Its a case, with a hard plastic case, that snaps on, AND has the leather foam screen flap that allows you to stand the tablet up however way you want. It also has the smart feature, and allows the buttons to be pressed without praying for finger nails. The few I can find are for the ipad or ipad mini, but I shall not mention such filth again!. I use my tablet with my PS3 Controller a lot now and want a good case that I can access the buttons easily on. (Plus any good games that work with the six axis would be a plus, just play a lot of Shadowgun for now lol)
I like this one, but the flap is so weak and flimsy, thin. http://www.nillkin.com/upload/editorfiles/2012.9.13_10.32.23_7945.jpg
Any help is highly appreciated!!!
That's actually one of the nicer ones of that made in China style. Someone here did a review of the same general style in real leather. Not sure of the cost but perhaps the cover would be more sturdy on that case. I know I tossed up a link to a pairing that I like. Its a cheap real leather wrap around case which has the drawback of no protection to the sides of the Nexus combined with being held onto the tablet with a sickly pad. But combine that with a cheap TPU case and for 12 or 13 bucks total for both you have a nice case. You just stick the TPU case to the leather cover instead of the Nexus and you're golden. Bob J Rugged Case + Pelican Case = Great Combination!

If you're like me, I wanted a great rubber case plus something to store the tablet in that would be tough enough to throw around in a backpack or get wet and still keep my Nexus alive. Came up with this combo and it works great!
Bob J Gear Rugged Silicone Case:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009AJBWJA/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
+
Pelican Products 1055CC HardBack Case with Computer Liner
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006FR1KHE/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You have to take the liners out of the Pelican case to make room (they are just taped in), but in the end the tablet with the silicone case fits nicely in the Pelican, taking up minimal room and is literally bomb proof. The Bob J Gear case is by far the best silicone case I've seen. Not a cheap piece of crap. Very thick, PERFECT fit, etc. And Pelican products, if you're not familiar with them, are some of the best of their kind that money can buy.
Anyways, just wanted to post this up real quick for those that might have been looking for the same thing I was.
Let me know if you guys want me to post pics. :good:
Very nice, but you do know that BobjGear also makes tablet bags :

Yeah I saw his bag. Looks very nice, but I wanted a more compact and hard case that was waterproof that I can just toss in my backpack or luggage.

Just a heads up; BobjGear posted a YouTube video....
It's a drop test, admittedly not using a Nexus 7 (it's an ASUS TF300-bigger and heavier), but those of us owning his cases won't be too surprised at the results...
i really like that pelican, does it fit the nexus 7 with no case and the liners still in?
