Last Sunday I tried to update my S5830's firmware, from Froyo to Gingerbread, but I accidentally used the wrong firmware. The firmware was for a Samsung I5510. My phone won't start up or boot into recovery or download. The lights of the back button and menu button are faint. Is there anything I can do to fix my phone?:crying:
Go to a service center. You hardbricked your phone.

If you have a JTAG you can. It isn't recommended since Samsung service centers can do this for you.

Is bringing my phone to Samsung the best option?
Yes, is the only thing you can do.

If you are in warranty then you're lucky.
Show it to your samsung service center. If they can't solve it, there's hardly any chance of getting your phone back.
Yeah, I brought it again at another Samsung Service Center and they said that the motherboard has a problem. I smell something lazy at the service center. How much is the JTAG?

I've searched once (a long time ago) and it was something like US$150. Here on Brazil, if the company doesn't repair your product within 30 days, they HAVE to give you a new product or refund your money. Check with your local laws to see if something like this apply, it might be the best solution if the Sammy Service Center is too lazy and take too much time.

Is the software and hardware warranty different? My i9003's LCD is some what ripping off of its foundation and i want it fixed by the service center.. Before i submit it to the sevice center, do i have to revert back to the original FW or is it ok because my problem is just the hardware not software.. Thanks.
Edit: will they check my firmware if my problem is only the LCD which is ripping off its foundation?

It is always safer to flash back to a stock rom just to save any trouble with the service centre. I know some here look for any reason to void a warranty on a handset.
So if it were me I would flash back to stock and remove root and any other tweaks.

No problem. Hope it gets sorted
A quick off-topic question, I purchased a brand new SGS from Ebay, if it breaks, can I send it to a SAMsung service centre for a free repair (after flashing stock firmware
It depends on if your handset is outside of the original warranty period. But the only way to be sure is to bring it to a repair centre and they can tell you straight away.
Did you buy it second hand?

Hi
Is there anyway back for a hard bricked Galaxy Note mobile...ie. wont turn on, wont go to recovery and wont go to download mod.
oh and the computer wont recognise it. :crying::crying:
thanks
It might be useful to tell us how exactly you bricked it. What software you were running, what you were trying to accomplish and other pieces of information like that...
As mentioned on other post last hope is JIG only in situation you are having.

The rom that was on the phone i think was kingdroid-ics-notemania-edition
The rom i was installing was paranoid-note-v01
The kernal was franco.kernal-r5
It just stopped in the middle of install and switched off.
The problem is I bought it of ebay about 4 months ago so have no proof of purchase.
If i took it to samsung service would they repair if I was willing to pay.
regards
Why you not taking chance first with jig, now just buy jig, if that will bring you to download mode then still chance to put life to ur device is there, if that won't work then last chance is ssc.

Hi guys,
My mobile fell in the ground somedays back and power button was not working from that day..So I went to LG service centre today, that guy told we cant fix this as some chip came out and told me to replace the motherboard. He told it will cost around Rs2,500(46.45$).When I asked him motherboard will cost faround Rs10000(185.8$) he told there is some discount for the motherboard. Can anyone confirm here whoever got a motherboard recently.
Thanks
First make confirm whether it is CHIP or MOTHERBOARD problem.
If it is CHIP prob, then go for to buy it.
If it is motherboard prob, waste to buy for with that much amount.
(Recently (my previous phone LG P500) got MOTHERBOARD changed, it cost 3,000)
But it seem 10000 is very high for LG optimus black, think once again.
It is better to you to buy LG Nexus 4 instead spending 10,000 on this motherboard (note that Nexus has no external memory)
I got quoted $280.50 AUD for my motherboard two weeks ago for to replace my motherboard for the crack as shown in my signature.

LGE replace the motherboard in some countries even if the phone is not in warranty anymore because they know that some series of P970 have the faulty motherboard.that's the whole "magic".
160eur for me when i bricked mine last year.
There were some tomorrow tutorials about recovering IMEI, search for them.
LG Optimus One P500 not detecting any network
Hi friends!
My LG P500 suddenly developed a problem that it does not register to any network and keeps showing a sim icon with a red exclamation sign on the notification bar. It is not taking any sim card. I showed it at local repair shops and all who checked it said that it is incorrigible.
I showed it at LG care. They have said that they would charge INR 2500 and take the older motherboard along with it. They are giving 3-month warranty.
Can anyone suggest what I should do or if there is a way to get it mended?
Yes. My Phone is dead. I wanted to take it to Service center.
If Samsung Service center repairs or replace my mother board, are they able to find out that I rooted my phone when the device is fixed. i.e., still rooting exists after new motherboard installation.
Edit:
Yes. I was installing new rom Slimrom.
You need to be more specific, what did you do before it died? did you flash a rom without being on a safe kernel or did a car roll over it?

AFTER it has been fixed is not the issue. But if it is totally DOA, they won't see anything beforehand. BTW, did you do anything with CWM.zip prior to bricking?

I've read your previous post. Seems like you had flash a lot, at least 10 flashes right? Had you ever reset your flash count? Like using Triangle away?
I don't know if the centre can reboot to system, but even by using USB JIG, you can reach download mode, which will show flash count and device status(official or custom).
But if only they can get to download mode. So lets hope they wont.
Good luck.

Not sure if all device will reset the count when using Jig, but it didn't on s3 mini, s4, and galaxy grand duos. I have 1, home made, tried on those phone. It work, just didn't reset the bin count. But maybe its different from the phone centres Jig. Lets hope your board totally fried.
