Common charging port and headset port in diamond!!!

Guys
Are you all OK with the common port for BOTH
Charging & Headset
Dont you think this is a weak aspect of HTC as Diamond battery is so weak which necessitate charging it while using ur headset???!!!
Meh. After a while you'll get used to it - HTC like their silly ExtUSB port. Use a bluetooth headset or carry a spare battery.
Is there a way to use your own headphones with this kind of port? And: is there an antenna/headphone cable available in order to listen to the radio with your own headphones?

Of course there is..
Besides, if you look online, you'll see splitters for the ExtUSB, when you can both charge and listen to music at the same time..
As I understood, ExtUSB has 11 pins.. the splitters make it into 2 ports - 5 pins and 6 pins..
It may not look... "perfect" but you'll only use it inside anyway, on a desk (or chair XD )
Thanks for the quick reply. Can you recommend a place to shop for accessories like these?
Frankly speaking.. no idea..
I usually check several places to find a model that doesn't look to cheap, so it'll fall apart in a week, but also not too expensive..
You'll have to google, I guess )
There's a thing that would interest you...

FM radio sucks! Anyone has this problem as well?

Practically useless radio. Even out in the open, the reception is basically like "shortwave radio". Even with the strongest of channels, I can barely enjoy anything.
Does anyone here has this issue too??

no very good reception, even inside our office.
No problem at all with FM radio - crystal clear
inside, outside, everywhere excellent stereo reception!
Is there any kind of setting that has to be done before one can get good reception? Need to find out whether its me doing something wrong or what...

Are you using headphones or trying to use the internal speaker only? I think you have to use headphones as the cord acts as an aerial.
I was using wired headphones as I know the wire acts as an antenna of sorts. In fact, my Sony headphones has a pretty long wire so why still the bad reception? Really sucks man..

the headphones are the problem
if you look in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284512
you will find a wiring schematic.
if i read this right, than the antenne is connected to the microphone connection of a headset. so just headphones will not work.
how did you connect your sony headphones?
You guys r right. Using the supplied headphones solved the reception problem. But now the negative point is that I cannot use my Sony headphones which are the in-ear bud type...
I have a converter from mini-USB to the normal 3.5 plug. That's how I connected my Sony headphones.

I'd say the Diamond did pretty well.

Apparently it still had some sort of signal, without an antenna.
find a converter with a microphone connection and you can connect a wire to that.

Hrm, possible solution for you fella. There is a wired HTC headset that was available around the time the TyTN II came out. It contained a mic and also had a 3.5mm jack for any headphones you want.
I wonder if that will work with the Diamond. It uses the extUSB connector...so it's a possibility.
EDIT:

to bad that we do not have people anymore who receive radio with their tooth fillings ;-)
Can anyone confirm whether or not you can listen to FM radio using A2DP Stereo Bluetooth? From this thread it's obvious that you need to have a wired headset plugged in, but I'm wondering if you can plug that in for the purposes of reception but still pipe the output out to the BT unit? Thanks!
I can confirm (because I'm using it) that the HTC usb-> 3,5mm standard stereo plug, model HS-U110 works perfectly with Diamond.
No problem picking radio stations with it
HastaSSSS
I had the same problem using the headset that came with my Trinity - no reception.
Changing to the supplied Diamond-headset - perfect reception!

mini usb......

i plugged a mini usb cable into my phone purely by accident, and it works perfectly! am i the only person that didnt know this? I think its brilliant, my phone always dies and i have an old blackberry in car charger that works too. sorry if im being thick if i didnt know this lol
You probably are the only person... *rotfl*

omtp or ctia

Hello, can someone tell me if the jack of the G2 is omtp or ctia?
I bought an adapter http://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00147406.htmlfor my wifes headphones http://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00143108.html, because she searches a solution to have comfortable headphones for business calls.
It works with my xperia Z2, but not with her G2...
Another possibility I thought about was passing her my USB headphones and connecting it to the G2 with a usb to micro-usb adapter... But apparantly things aren't so simple...
Thank you in advance

It connects to my stereo as mtp...
Thank you for your answer.
I think the MTP you refer to is not the same as omtp, but to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media_Transfer_Protocol
Thank you anyway.

A quick guess would make me believe that the G2 is a CTIA configured device, as my friend uses his Apple earbuds with remote and mic on his G2 and they work, while my other friend has some earbuds that work with Sony phones that won't work on the iPhone/iPod or my Lg G2.
Ok, thank you. I think it's crazy this information is impossible to find... I have searched for a while, but it is mentioned nowhere.
Does anyone know if it is possible in some way to use my USB headphones with an micro-usb adapter?

I do not think its possible to use USB headphones.
I use my corsair usb headphones but they works only with dorimanx kernel. Sound is good but they drains a lot of battery. Why not a BT headset?

USB Type-C headphones' volume is too low

Hello guys !
I am not sure if anyone has noticed (or I'd rather say, has felt annoyed) by the stock headphones or by the output produced by the regular Jack 3.5 through their Type-C to Jack converter, but I have...
Personally, I am very demanding when it comes to music, and by choosing a 850-euro phone, this possible "issue" didn't cross my mind before I bought it. It seems like listening to music on this phone, (using headphones of course) comes with pluses and minuses.
As a Pro feature, the sound is excellent, the lows and highs sound quite good actually, but (there is a big "BUT") the maximum volume is too quiet, compared to other mainstream phones on the market, using mainly Jack interface for the headphones. The maximum volume on this phone, when using headphones is about 70-75% of the maximum volume on other phones (Mi Note Pro, Samsung Galaxy series, IPhone).
I made sure "Dolby atmos" is enabled, I have even tried raising all the EQ parameters (so that the general volume may be increased), I have also tried preamp-ing the sound with apps like Poweramp or Speakerbooster, but they would only sound like forced, and not actually louder, and the result is the same.
So, my sole question is : what should I do/buy/try in order to get a LOUDER experience when using headphones ?
Thank you in advance !
P.S.: sorry if I'm being awkward, it's my first post on XDA. Cheers !
Is there a safety volume limiter on?

Because in wired mode the headphones are driven by the phone's amp and in Bluetooth they are driven by their own internal amp. Its why you can use wired mode even when the headphone battery is depleted.
How about any advice buying replacement earphones instead of the adapter? I'd rather just have one external thing to not lose. Are there any USB-C earphones that will do the same job as the replacement USB-C to 3.5mm for regular earphones?

I find it as loud as my S8 plus or Pixel 2 through headphones, but BT is where it's at for volume.

I don't think I need head/earphones. I have 2 pairs of earphones (Samsung and Sennheiser), a pair of HyperX Cloud Stinger II, and studio headsets from Focusrite. I have tried all of them. And they are not the problem.
I've had many Huawei phones and 3,5mm volume has always been too low

I use the HTC dongle linked in the video above. It makes a noticeable difference. Even my cheap £15 earphones are much louder using it over the Huawei dongle.
It won't blow you away, so be realistic but it is DEFINITELY a noticeable improvement and worth the investment if you listen to music.
In fact, even my larger headphones were louder but I think you need a dac/amp to really enjoy louder volumes on large headphones. It's the cheap earphones that I found gave the loudest sound.
