GT-P7320T - Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 4g 32gb from telstra

Tab wont turn on now or charge, cant reset or reboot, laptop don't recognise Tab plugged in either, i hope i haven't full bricked my Tab. I'm in great anguish to fix this desperately!

Help with android/rogers i896

Hey, I just bought a Samsung Captivate from Rogers. I am really new to this phone and the os Android. I have never used Android before, so I have no clue how it really works. May someone please guide me? what is the first thing I should test for to see it is working perfectly fine? what are some awesome apps on the Android? and whats all this froyo, custom roms? etc for? please help and thank you!
ps: I came from a blackberry, I was wondering how can I transfer my contacts from the BB to the Captivate? and would the BB charger be sufficient for the Captivate? I noticed they both used the same port.

Welcome to the forums. Glad you got yourself a Captivate. It's a great phone.
To test if everything is working perfectly fine, turn it on and use it. Make phone calls, text people, use the camera, go outside for a walk with Google Maps with your gps on. Use the phone like you normally would. If it doesn't explode or melt in your hands, it works just like it should.
As for your contacts, there are a few ways. If you synced your BB with your computer, you should be able to export your contacts to a .csv file and copy that onto the phone and import them in the contacts app. I know I had AT&T copy my contacts from phone to phone when I got my Captivate. You could also try saving all your contacts to your SIM card and then put it back in your Captivate and import them that way.
Your BB charger should work just fine. The Captivate charges at 500ma or 700ma. As long as your BB charger has one of those outputs, it should be just fine.
Sorry for jumping in the middle as I try now to create a new thread for something similar.
I am a new Rogers Captivate owner as well and I am having a connection issue between my PC and the Cap.
I used the SamSung Kies I got off SamSungApp.com by selecting the UK region thingy and installed Canada as the region. Installation went fine and I rebooted my PC after it went through.
Plugged in the phone for the first time, Windows attempted to install the driver but no success. FYI I am running Windows 7 64bit and wonder if there is still a communication issue between Windows 7 and the Captivate? Am I doing anything wrong? What can I do to fix this issue?

Kies does not install the drivers for phone. Go to the Samsung website and go to the support page for your phone and download the drivers. Install them before you plug your phone into your computer again.

[Q] Bricked GT 7510 Wifi only

I have a rooted GT 7510 WiFi only that had the generic rom. After installing an app that was supposed to change the transition affect when moving from one screen to another (don't remember the name of the program) my tab was stuck in what I have read is called a boot-loop, it would get about 1 second into the Samsung splash screen and reboot again.
I read around online and found someone posted a fix for the problem. I went into download mode and loaded the .md5 file that was supposed to fix it....fail.... and it actually made it worse. Now i cant get into clockwork mode and Kies wont connect, only download mode. I can still connect thru Odin but that is as far as I can go. the tab now shows the "firmware upgrade encountered and issue....." screen unless I boot to download mode. Turns out the person on that forum linked in a file for phone rather than tab.......
Unlike many, I actually use my tab for work. Its so much easier than carrying around my laptop and can do everything I need it to.
Here is what makes me different than others who are posting here. Im willing to pay to get mine fixed. I cant go to a store or a service center to get repairs...I live in a country where there is no service center and flying back to the states to get it repaired is not an option.
In looking around online I have found other places that service them for about 50 bucks. If you can get it to work, Ill send funds thru paypal. Sorry but I wont use anyone else. I know many will be skeptical of such an offer, and I wish there was something I could do to prove that I'm for real. I just don't have the time and I need someone who knows what they are doing to help me out. I have the money but not the time it would take to get it fixed through regular means. I can use remote PC software like teamviewer or the like and you can take control of my laptop or Ill even call you....anywhere on the planet.... if you can fix this for me.....I'm that desperate.
Only real pros here please. In a noob for Andriod but please don't waist my time with things you "think might work"
thanks
I think you have the wrong forum. GT7510 != P1010 (WiFi only 7" Galaxy Tab).
HOWEVER. Your tab has a glimmer of hope left in it. If you can still get into download mode, and Odin can say hello to it, then it can be restored from the brick graveyard. Chances are, her soul is there, you just gotta kick Odin to rescue her soul and stick it back in her body (which is the Tab, of course!).
But! I'm a nice 'cube (hence my username ) and found you something that may bring your beloved tab back to life. Your mileage may vary, but I hope you all the best.

[Q] Galaxy S 3 Mini SM-G730A USB issue

I don't believe there was a thread covering this exact issue, if there is I sincerely apologize. AT&T Samsung Galaxy S III Mini SM-G730A
My problem is that my phone will not connect to any computer via USB mass storage, the battery will begin to charge but that is all. I have searched the internet for possible reasons/solutions and I have also contacted Samsung customer service which only lead to the discovery of completely different issue. Of course upon this discovery as coincidence would have it the call with customer service was disconnected. The lady had told me to boot the phone, take the battery out, and boot into recovery mode. Once there she instructed that I choose the option to wipe the cache partition, when I selected this option it said it was clearing the partition then gave me an "ERROR" message, shut down, and rebooted the phone. Basically, to get to the point, I wanted to root the phone and this problem is somewhat a hindrance. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
Also I don't know if this needed or would help but I have tried connecting it to computers running Win XP Home Service Pack 2, Win Vista, Win 7 Home Edition, and on my laptop which is the one I would be using if fixed it's running Ubuntu Saucy 13.10. I also used the original cable that came with the phone I bought it brand new. Thanks again.
Possible reason of your problem

Your problem if you still hve it is that the usb port is damaged, normally when they get damaged they can still charge the phone but will not be recogniced by the pc, so you would not be able to rooted, or transfer any file to it, .
Solution is to change the usb port. Hopefully you can fix your issue, Greetings.
Try enabling / disabling usb debugging, maybe that will help. You'll need to go to 'about phone' in settings then tap on the version number 10 times to enable developer options, then you can enable usb debugging.

Cant connect to PC after root

Just got my galaxy s6 edge, ive been out of the game for a while as far as rooting, flashing roms and all that.
Anyway after rooting with ping pong i can no longer connect to pc. the phone will still charge but i cant file transfer. I did a search and found 1 other person with the problem and never got it solved. hopefully someone can help out. Thanks

Need help, Tab S2, Data recovery, Broken LCD and Digitizer

Hi All,
I have samsung tab s2 sm-t719y with broken screen and lcd. I just want to extract some important data out of it. Tried several data recovery software but usb debugging is not turned on. I tried this adapter (below) but it does not work with the Tab S2. I am helping my sis-in-law and all her biz contacts and project info is inside the tablet.
When I connect a usb otg and used a mouse and slide the mouse when holding the left button of mouse, I hear an 'unlocking' sound and I am able to adjust the volume by using the volume adjust button. So I am certain that the tablet is working. I have briefly searched for solutions in this forum but to no avail. Please help, thanks for reading this post.

I wasn't able to use Kies nor Smart Switch unfortunately. Kies immediately directed me to Smart Switch due to newer models of the Tab S2 model. Regardless, I entered the model name or model number (Galaxy Tab S2 or SM-T719Y or SM-T719) both software keeps asking me to check model number and enter it in the box. I followed the guide but unfortunately the software spat back saying USB data transfer is not allowed on the device so the software couldn't connect successfully to the tablet. **sigh** I appreciate the suggestion though. Im hoping someone could suggest another possible solution.
Thanks

You could try this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2786395
or use TWRP to recover the data. Look at the screenshots on the page to guess where you need to touch. You can then use MTP or ADB to backup the data.
