This is the most bizarre post I think I have ever read.
In summary, you have a Nexus7 that you can't find any problems with, and you want us to try and help you find some problems.... ????
And they call me Crazy......

No. i said i dont see any physical problems. but i was asking about problems like checking dead pixels, checking that colors are right, checking other things that maybe require installing some apps for that, etc.
There are a couple of apps on the play store that can check (or help to check) for dead pixels apparently. I've not bothered with them and I just put a white screen on the N7 and looked at it. If I cant see a dead pixel, then I cant see the point of worrying about anything that my eyes are unable to notice.
All I did was
(1) Check the S/N so I could tell it was not a returned old version
(2) See if I could see any scratches or dents or any physical damage
(3) Turned it on and checked the screen had no dead pixels
(4) Checked for screen lift on the left
(5) Checked for light bleed
(6) Checked for any rippling along the sides
(7) Checked the OS version
(8) Checked the speaker was okay using the free film
That was enough for me. I'm a bit OCD, but I'm happy enough that its not got any obvious or reported issues.
Turn upp the brightness check for lightbleed in a dark room and check so that the screen hasn't lifted from the glass. Other than that there's nothing special you need to check in my opinion.

lol - No. Its that Transformer's Movie that is shipped with the Nexus (at least it is in the UK). I just wanted something that made a sound. I didnt use any special apps. There are (apparently) some, but I couldnt see the point.

lol ok. well here we dont get any transformers movie. i did put some trailer on youtube and things sounded fine.
btw, im still reluctant on upgrading to 4.2 though i keep getting notifications for that, so in the meanwhile until bugs are fixed i think im gonna stay with 4.1

was just trying to be on the safe side since i only have 1 week to returnin case of problems. here in my country its not like in the USA that they have 30 days or so
Just as the title says, PLEASE HELP I ONLY HAVE 2 HOURS
My assumptions :
- Is the welcome screen can only show once you got it & we cannot see it again?
- When we open the case, it will leave traces ?
What do you know? How can I know that the Nexus 7 I want to buy is real? ( I want to buy it from another person, he said that he buy it from Lazada & want to sell it because he thought that it was 3g )
1 Thing to do is to check under settings, About and check all the software.
Chances are if its a fake device, it won't have standard software installed.
Check VERY Carefully, as fake software often mimicks the naming etc, but is slightly different.
Also, check all the outer body etc, to see if you can see any different things from what your used it, such as no logo etc?
Pop the back off like you said, check the internals to see if they match the Nexus 7 original.
Popping the back is fairly easy, and if done properly you wont be able to tell its been done.

Thx a lot man !
Can you show me more example on the mimics software here? Cause this is 4.1 Jellybean & I never had the experience with 4.1
Can you give me the list of things that I must check so that I can check it with the review on YouTube?
Go here - http://images.broadbandgenie.co.uk/fckImages/blogs/n7-root/Build Number.png
The easiest one to check would be the kernel/build number etc.

Seems to be a real one. By judging the kernel version, date and the FCC things. Also you can try to unlock its bootloader.
Edit what's lazada
Edit2: oops i mistook the replies. But you can try the suggestion i've said to you.

Or just check the serial number on the package. Simply ask Asus if this number is registered. If it is its real.

I don't think it'll have the serial number, being second hand.

Why would that have anything to do with not having a serial number? It comes on a tag on the device. If it is removed I would be suspicious that it is stolen.
That little sticker that's in the bottom? That was the first thing I took off when I opened it. I mean why would you put a SN on a sticker? That's no indicator if it were stolen.
Edit: I stick edit to the box, but yeah. If anyone else is like me and does not like superfluous stuck things in their devices, and they would have removed it too.

I had to re-read that a couple of times. So you're telling me, you haven't taken the sticker off your nexus 7, and that if someone tried to sell you one with the sticker on you'd think it was stolen?

Second hand for a device like this is kinda shady to begin with. It being bogus is a risk you take regardless of anything considering its been used. serial numbers can be faked, especially stickers which can be taken off one and placed onto another. I left my sticker on just because....eventually it peeled off on its own so that shoots that idea down. You can very easily package a loaf of bread into a nexus box and until ya open it youll never know. best bet would be to make sure whatever service your using has an airtight return & buyer protection policy.
Honestly I don't think there are a lot of faked N7's(if any). It's not like you would buy beats headphones (cause there's a sh*t load of faked beats headphones).Faking tablets and phones is much "harder" and you would definitely figure out quickly if its faked or not mostly because they run outdated software.
Sorry for my bad english

Someone gets it. Yes, my sticker is still on my N7, primarily because there's no real reason to remove it and because it is in a case where the sticker is protected and not visible. I save the boxes that any of my gadgets come in until they are no longer under warranty. Sometimes even longer as resale is better on a device that is in the factory container. For a device this new I would be very wary of buying one used that the owner had disposed of the box and serial number sticker without much thought. At the least, it shows carelessness, at the worst, they could be trying to hide something.
OP seems suspicious to me.
cant quite tack it down, but something seems odd...
Google Gravity
A real N7 will bounce if you toss it on the ground real hard. Newer N7's have Google Gravity installed. Basically it has internal gyros and sensors that detect motion and reverse gravity in the event of a fall to prevent damage.
hahaha, I liked the last response better.
Does anyone know where I can buy the white Motorola SIM Removal Tool that originally came with the Moto X?

The dump my garbage goes to? Don't think I took it out of the box. Lol
But no....not sure. Demand is probably terribly low. Wouldn't surprise me if they aren't for sale anywhere .
Did you Google it? If not on Google....probably don't exist. IPhone probably sells them. They likely tell customers that they need the official one, or their phone will break and warranty will be void.

Not looking to sell though.
Try looking on ebay 99P for 3 or 100 for £4 or £1.18 for plastic motorola one.

I'm know I'm being super picky but I'm looking specifically for the white one.
I think I'll just give up the search for now but thank you for your help
So I got my Note 4 today. I love it, but im note sure if am being picky or if my issue is warranted.
Opened Note, and not sure if im the only one. But I have a crack at top of phone. Real small but noticeable if you look at top.
Should I have them send a new one?

Send it back asap. If you ever tried to sell it used, you would have to cut the value significantly
id send that back right away man!
I sent my Wife's white Note 4 back (they let us keep it till the new arrives) The glass had a swirl in it that happens in the manufacturing process. I expect perfection from a new phone.
I would send it back.
They are one day shipping a new one. Love Tmo, thx xda. Btw this phone is amazing

Don't see it either. Are you talking about that Squarish thing in between the antenna bands? If so that is normal, both my uncle and my note have them.

Hey guys-
I have the galaxy s6 and I have a weird problem which I think may or may not be burn in. Someone please take the phone outside and try this:
1. Put phone under as much sunlight as possible
2. Open display to white screen.
3. Now look at the borders of the display(about 1 inch from top and bottom and 1/4 inch from left and right side.
Do you see a grey color line bordering that chunk of the display?
I am thinking of contacting t-mobile but my gut tells me this is in the design of the display assembly. Please let me know. Thanks in advance guys.
