Just Bricked Captivate - Please Help!

Hello,
I am new at rooting and all...am deployed in Afghanistan bored out of my mind so I started messing with my phone...
First I updated to the leaked 2.3.4 with Odin
Second I rooted with the 10 step method posted a couple days ago
Third I flashed Victory 1.5 rom using Rom Manager
Fourth...I flashed Talon Kernel and got stuck in a boot between the ATT logo and the Talon loading then repeat, repeat, repeat...
So I figured I would load Odin and flash the original Kernel back...
During this, Odin kept saying something about connection and I closed...took battery out of the phone
Now it is just black screen...nothing boots or anything and the computer can see a "unrecognized usb device" but nothing else.
I REALLY need this phone for work and am going to be in so much crap if I cant get it back up ASAP...I am a noob (obviously by this) but will try anything...I no 0 about development however :/
Please...if there is anything I can do or try let me know!

Firstly, thank you for your service. My dad is deployed in Iraq.
Have you tried using Odin one-click? Back when I had my Cappy, it was always the answer to a brick.

kind of off topic and most likely not the place for this but...
i also have a iphone 3gs that was working fine...i tried to jailbreak it using the jailbreakme url direct from phone but stupid govornment monitored wifi blocked it...
jailbroke phone using redsn0w but then found out there is no unlock for my phone and software, only jailbreak
used sn0wbreeze to create a custom ipsw and it worked for a teathered jailbreak and unlock...
since it is teathered i now had to use ibooty 2.0 each time phone restarted
never happened...just a white screen from boot program or black screen dfu mode any other way
gave up and tried to restore to newest and currently unlockable ios from itunes but keep getting errors during the process...1601 and when using tinyumbrella server some other code
even tried editing the host file but still...nothing works!
if anyone can help i will GLADLY paypal you $20 or whatever is fair! just want to sell the phone on ebay since i am happy with my cappy

I can't help you with that because I don't know anything about iOS...but...iBooty...lol.

Put it back in dfu mode and re-jailbreak with redsnow.

^ no luck...grrr, so tired of bricked devices and thinkin i know wtf im doin :/

[Q] bluetooth wont work

help please!
My HD7 bluetooth wont work. Theres no error messages, it just wont discover any devices and no devices can discover it. I think it failed when i installed bluetooth file transfer, using DFT Rom. Ive since reflashed DFT, and am now using Ansars latest rom, but bluetooth still wont work.
Any ideas?

u must restart ur phone after installing dft bt file transfer
go to setting\bluetooth w8 dont return to main menu search u will find ur phones bluetooth

Need help to unbrick my phone....

Hello guys, last week my cell phone was working perfectly, suddently the phone lost the signal, was allways without signal. I was using CyanFox 2.0.2 at that momment. I changed to SlimKat 4.4.4 but still the same issue. A friend suggested me to flash the 20C kdz. I tried the normal, with KDZ_FW_UPD, following the instructions that i read in another post. Everything was going ok, but it stopped in wParam = 2010, lParam = 210.
After that, the cell phone just go to S/W Upgrade mode, even if a try any combination of keys. I have tried to many methods to unbrick my phone without any success..... Please i need Help!!!!!!!!
I have tried the 10B, 10H, 20B and 20C kdz.

I had the same issue. You need to be patient when you work with .kdz files and one thing that worked for me is another PC. I didn't have another PC in my home so I used my friend's one for my needs and everything went good. The problem may be caused by drivers , so be carefull.

I thougt that my problem was Windows 8, so i tried in another pc with Win7, but still the same problem

Nah, it is probably drivers issue. Try to use PC with "fresh" drivers.Also i waited ~20 mins until everything installed.

I just tried to flash the kdz file in another pc but no success....

Samsung S5 won't recognize in download mode

Sorry ... I'm a newbie to this "root-thing" ... I'm trying to root my Samsung S5 (Rogers) ... in following the instructions from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2293800 I followed the second post to the letter. When I plug in my phone after running Odin, my computer doesn't seem to recognize my phone as a device and there doesn't seem to be any communication between the phone and the computer. However, when I plug in my computer, but not in download mode, it registers find and I can use file explorer to look at the contents. Do I need additional drivers ? I don't understand while the phone won't be recognized in download mode ...
Any help would be appreciate.

That thread you linked is for the S4. I font know if it works for an S5...but I'd be careful in the future about following procedures or flashing files for different devices, as it could lead to serious issues.
So, for your S5, I will have your thread moved to your device section so the experts who own your device can suggest any working root methods for your device.

Odin won't recognize my device.

My Galaxy s5 att has been buggy lately running dynamic cat 3.0. I want to go back to stock. I downloaded the stock rom and Odin and tried to plug my phone in (on download mode) and it would not recognize it, my computer doesn't either. I tried to install the drivers but I got a message saying they weren't installed correctly. I tried a few times, restarting my computer and nothing will work. Please help.

Try different PC, data cable or usb port. Delete drivers restart PC then connect phone with out installing drivers back. Install KIES 3.. This is all I can think of for now. Let us know.

I installed kies. It didn't find my device either. I will try a different data cable and get back to you, thanks

So I tried a different cable and same thing. Computer won't recognize the device. It does charge though so I guess that's good. My computer is saying there is an error with my device. I have an idea, if I go to recovery mode and wipe everything and then try to plug it in, will it recognize my device? I'll make sure to make a backup before I do that

Do you have access to different computer, any PC , just trying to find out if there is nothing wrong with phone. Seems to me like PC or cable problem but i want to be sure. I had similar problem with note 10.1. I change 4 cables then finally got one working. If all file you can try to wipe just make sure you will have working rom in case if that is hardware or usb port in your phone not working. Also you can try flash rom true Mobile Odin.

I looked at that app and it says do not use for Android 4.4 and up. They are working on it. I will try a different computer as soon as it's available.

I can't answer this question because i personally never done this but people claimed they done this. Just search more in XDA forum if this can be done on At&t S5. I know for fact people done this on at&t S3 back in days, but S5 have lock bootloader and i don't know if this will affect this any way.. That was just suggestion if you willing to try, like i said i don't know if this will work.

There are tutorials all over saying you can and how to do it. I'm just having problems with getting the computer to recognize my phone. I will try it with another computer to see if my wire is bad like you said

It's definitely not the pc. This other pc is also not recognizing it even after drivers are installed. It says the device has malfunctioned. So I'm guessing it's something wrong with my phone. I would bring it back to AT&T but I have to get it back to stock before that so I can keep my warranty.
