[Q] Lost in Recovery.... - Galaxy Tab 8.9 General

I've successfully rooted my PT7310 and have flashed a JB Rom.
The ROM seems to lag a bit so I'm trying to go back to ICS...
However, I'm experiencing difficulty being able to flash anything in Recovery mode.
I've tried manually rebooting into Recovery, used Rom Toolbox Pro and Rom Manager, all with the same results.
For example, if I manually reboot into Recovery, when I toggle over to the Recovery mode, the unit appears to turn off and nothing happens.
The unit doesn't reboot or get to the Recovery Menu screen.
Sometime later, if I reboot the unit, it reboots normally and functions with the JB Rom.
Any ideas what's going on?
thanks in advance

[Help] Bootloop and Corrupted Recovery

Hi Folks,
I had a CyanogenMod-6.1 for Nexus One :: V6.1.0-RC1 (10/28/2010) installed on my Nexus 1.
Prior to that i was using CM6.0 RC1 stable release. Did an upgrade (with full void and nandroid backup) to try out the new features.
However this afternoon, out of nowhere, my volume buttons and trackball started to malfunction.
i.e to say : I cannot adjust volumes in any part of the apps/phone and i can't select/click stuffs with the Trackball.
Hence, I thought of removing CM6.1. Here's the problem started.
#1. I can't boot into recovery. The phone itself will be stuck at the big "X" screen. After 5mins, it will boot into CM6.1
- Using ROM Manager i tried to reflash Clockwork Mod 2.5.1.0 for a couple of times but i still cannot get into Recovery.
Be it powering up with trackball held down, booting into recovery up via Rom Manager. Surprisingly, volume down was working together with power down was able to go into Bootloader
for me to select "Recovery", however, i still can't access Recovery.
#2. I tried using ./fastboot-mac flash recovery updatedclockwork.img also can't.
#3. I tried using Amon-RA. ./fastboot-mac flash recovery Amon-RA.img also to no avail.
#4. i used ./fastboot-mac update to load a StockFRF91 Froyo also can't get into recovery.
As of now, my phone is stuck continuously in bootloop, cannot access Recovery. I've tried almost 30+ fixes on XDA and other Android Forums but i still can't fix it.
Is there anyway, i can wipe everything inclusive of the "Corrupted Recovery" files and restore back my Nexus One?
Thank you all please save my phone! :'(
Dude I feel your pain. I have the exact same problem. I wonder if it is a CM6 issue?

Unable to flash custom ROMs

Hi
I'm trying to flash a custom ROM, to be specific: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1524108 , but I have a few problems.
Almost one year ago my Home button stopped responding which made almost all multitasking useless and I had to use d back button in order to get back to my home screen that obviously then exited wtv app I was using. Two days ago I managed to spill some water on my phone while I was listening to music through its speaker and 10 min later the phone suddenly shut off. The phone went into a bootloop and whenever I removed the battery and put it back in, the phone automatically booted back into the bootloop, as if the power button was constantly being pressed. Considering that my Home button doesn't work and now also my Power button, I couldn't enter recovery and when I entered Download Mode via my USB JIG the phone went in and out of Download Mode every 5 sec or so which made it impossible for me to flash back to stock with Odin and then flash CWM etc etc...
I decided to open my phone and cut over the Power button cable since I assumed it was already dead (I let the phone dry for 24 hours without any help before I did) and then when I put back the battery the phone didn't boot by itself. I plugged in the USB JIG and Download Mode is now working again. I have flashed a 2.3.4 stock ROM (JVP) and I'm using a CF-Root kernel with CWM 3.
I installed ROM Manager (Superuser came with the kernel) and I have checked that the phone is rooted, but whenever I try to flash a ROM through ROM Manager the phone doesn't boot into CWM and then tries to flash the ROM, it boots into Recovery e3.
I know I have CWM installed considering I've tried this without flashing CWM with ROM Manager, and with CWM from ROM Manager.
The ROM won't be flashed due to an error stating that the Signature isn't verified.
Is there any way for me to be able to flash the ROM with another method or to get the ROM Manager to work properly? I know my phone is in a pretty bad state considering I don't have a working Home button or Power button, but it works fine with stock ROM where I use an app that makes it possible for me to unlock my screen with my volume buttons.
Basically, my question is... how can I flash custom ROMs without a home/power button, and why isn't ROM Manager working?
Thanks in Advance
PS. I have to flash a kernel through Odin everytime I want to boot my phone, is there anyway to boot the phone without having to flash over and over again?
I'm unclear as to whether you can enter download mode and flash through odin.
If not, perhaps you could try mobile ODIN off the play store and see if that works.
The reason why i'm saying so as if you can enter download mode i'd flash this (darky's rom) rom.
It's rooted, has CWM installed and is just a one step odin process to a nice stable rom.
Perhaps you could try 'rom toolbox' to enter recovery and download, get it from the app store.
And as you're phone is pretty broken, i assume you probably wanna flash one rom and stick with it. So either flash the rom i just linked you to or this (gamerzrom ninja) one.
Gamerzrom ninja however requires you to flash stock JVU in odin, then semaphore 2.5.0 kernel in odin, then enter CWM and wipe data, cache, dalvik cache and then flash the gamerzrom zip file.
That is quite a few steps and with you're phone so broken it may be easier to just do the first one which is one ODIN process, however the latter rom i suggested is more optimized and has more power overall, ram, etc etc.
Your call
Thanks for your reply.
The DarkyROM might come in handy considering it's flash-able through ODIN. The other ROM really isn't much of an option for me as I cannot do anything in CWM other than navigate up and down due to the fact that my Home/Power buttons don't work.
I'm able to get into CWM without much of a problem, but I just get stuck there...
The reason I want the ROM I linked to is because it has built in on-screen buttons, which then will make it possible for me to finally have my Home button back.
Is there no way to flash a ROM without the use of CWM? or without actually entering CWM and doing so manually?

[Q] Stuck, Reboot and Bootloop

Hi all,
This was happened since yesterday. Suddenly my phone got stuck and reboot itself after few seconds. But It won't back again and stuck on bootloop. I was on stock rooted ROM with Philz kernel.
Then I've tried to reboot on recovery but It also very hard to get there. After 10-12 times I was able to go recovery, and I did full wipe there. But, I wont fix the issue. Some times It's booting properly( After pull out battery for 5mins ) but only last for few seconds. Very first time I press the home button after sleep or lock, phone get stuck and reboot and bootloop.
I've tried different ROMs, Kernels, even GB ROMs, Finally tried to fix file system errors with e2fsck. But nothing was solved my problem.
Please, anyone here had same issue ? Or any knows solution to fix it ?
Thanks
Anybody can help ... ??? I can work with this phone until it get stuck once. After that, bootloop. If I keep switched off and battery removed, after 10-30mins back, It's working again.
Please anyone can help me ?

try to remove the whole ROM with the kernel from recovery mod , i think there is an option for that in "advanced options" menu , so that ur device will show nothing when you press the power button ..
then download any stock rom and flash it with odin ,..
another method is to flash previous rom update , i.e ICS if your device is on JB , then via KIES update your device ..
hope that helps you

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I've tried formatting all partitions from recovey mode. and I've tried flashing GB ROMS via odin. every rom boots first time, but once it locked, it get stuck when try unlock. Then it wont boot again.
I've tried CM10.1 as well , but no hope.
The thing is, once it stuck and reboot, It wont even boot to recovery as well ( If I try 100 times, 1 time can be able to boot recovey ) . But for Download mode is anytime can boot.
I've never heard such a spooky problem before
any other ideas... please ...
Go to download mode and clean-install a stock ROM using ODIN. Then install PhilZ boot loop free kernel and you'll be on root again.

Can't enter recovery- GT-I9295 strange behaviour

Hey guys,
i'm in trouble installing a custom ROM on a S4 Active (GT-I9295, Baseband IXXUDOB4, 5.0.1).
Flashed CF--Autoroot with Odin, no problem.
Then i flashed TWRP, Odin showed its green "PASS!"-message but i can't boot into recovery.
I'm well aware of the timing issue when doing the first reboot into a custom recovery, and i assure you this isn't the problem.
I tried countless times, after a while i installed ROM manager to try if i could flash the ROM file that way.
It installed another custom recovery -CWM- on top, and also showed up the TWRP recovery:
http://imgur.com/kSSiuld
Still, booting into any recovery does not work, neither from ROM managers menu or via any button-press combination.
When pressing vol up+home+power, the phone shows the blue "revovery loading"-line AND the red line *****ing about the root, but continues to boot as if it had been switched on normally.
I even looked for the ominous "install-sh" script in system/etc to understand why nothing gets me into recovery-
what the heck can this be?!
Did the same thing to S6 and S5 without any hassle, i'm stuck with this for several days now and i am running out of ideas.
Anyone...?
Not a very technical answer, but have you tried pulling the battery out for 30 seconds and trying again?
Yes we did, unfortunately, this also didn`t help.
Tried loads of things actually, still impossible to access that damn recovery

Phone won't boot through normal conditions

Hello all. First of all, the issue I have is not major, just an annoyance that I want to get rid of.
So, I decided to flash 6.0 stock zip/update through the stock recovery but at some point it got stuck. At that moment, I was in a hurry so I had to unplug the phone and quickly flashed TWRP. I did a 5.1.1 AOSP nandroid backup before so I was all safe. But I noticed that, after successfully restoring the backup, it would boot me back into recovery whenever I tried to boot directly into system.
So basically, the only ways I found out I can boot into Android is through the bootloader and choosing Normal Powerup or doing fast reboots. And, based on what I think, everything that uses the "reboot" command, like in terminal, will kick me directly into the recovery (holding the power button and rebooting normally, doing a hard reboot, rebooting through apps or terminal, booting when phone is off or starting to charge from a depleted battery).
How can I fix this problem? Did anybody else encounter this as well? Thanks in advance!
