[SOLVED] [Q] STRANGE!! sensation xl shuts down at a specific time - HTC Sensation XL

hello,
It is very strange, between 6:00 pm and 6.25 pm, my sensation xl (rooted WRE 1.5) suddenly shuts down with a black screen, without "shutting down" window. this happens only around 6:00pm, when the time changes. When I put the battery out and restart it around 6:00pm it shuts down in 30-60 sec. I don't know how to fix this without a factory reset. I would really appreciate if someone knows what the problem could be.
sorry for my very bad english.

Do you have some app that could schedule your phone shut down?
Does this happen everyday or just some days?

I found it, when I come back home (between 6:00 and 6:25) I turn on/off wifi and airplane mode. So it is related to the combination of "wifi on/off" and "airplane mode on/off". I found many posts related to this problem. So it is an kernel related problem ?

Don't know for sure, you can try a custom kernel or a custom ROM and see how it goes, or, you can upgrade/downgrade your Baseband/Radio, depends on what are you currenlty running, if you are on ICS or GB.
Hope this helps

There is an oveclockable kernel for ICS, developed by me actually , also, on what hboot/radio are you running it?
--Also, i had on many phones problem with the battery (older phone really), you can take the battery out and clean the contacts of the battery with some sharp thing, like a screwdriver, but don't push too hard!

Yes, I saw your kernel a few minutes ago, amazing! I'll try that one. I'm happy to see that there are still developpers for this phone.
Thanks for helping me,

Send from my lovely Sensation XL, from a little town in france with a very very slow internet connection.

[Q] A weird problem in Kingxklick's Desire2Nexus

Hello people!!
So, here's my problem for today, in that ROM (the Desire2Nexus 1.4 that is) sometimes when i leave my phone in the pocket for sometime it just wont turn back on.
Basically it stays Locked and The power button does not do a thing. The only way to get out of that situation is to take out the battery and reboot it.
Now, the last time it happened to me I tried to call it while it was "Locked", on the other side it seemed like it's calling the nexus normally, but the nexus didn't do anything, it did not ring, did not turn on or anything.
Did anyone here experienced anything like that?
And if this is the wrong place to put this at, Sorry in advance.
Ooh, I guess this is my first post too... yay!!

King had messed something up in the kernel, that was the cause. Try using Evils latest version, with Wildmonks kernals specifically for the ROM. Its really blasing fast.

[Q] SOLVED WIFI force the phone to restart, when lockscreen enabled! SOLVED 1st post

It's a really weird problem, I use KuyaDroid 4.3.233 , and kernel version2.6.29 , and when i connected to WIFI and then i lock the screen, or the phone lock itself, the phone reboot automatically. Yesterday i forgot to check my phone abd it restart itself about 30 times, cause i forgot to turn off wifi, and it connected automatically everytime then restarted itself. Anybody could help me with this issue? I searched the whole forum, and didn't find the answer at similar threads, so i started a new one.
Sorry for my bad english.
And thanks for the help
SOLVED:
First of all it was hell of a day. I saved a puppy dogie, the poor thing was outside at the -4 Ceksius top of a bunch of fallen leaves, its really cold outside, so i bring him to my home, he was very greatful. Poor thing. But now i have a dog ^^. And than the rest of my day till now was installing different roms kernels. But nAa kernel + Mini CM7 is unbeatable, it solved all of my problem, every single problem, it's flawless
So merry christmas if you have a problem like this spend much much hour of installing and reading, if you're a noob like me, then enjoy a cup of hot chocolate front of the fire place, with your puppy drinking milk
Any Suggestion ????
....
What a useless forum... I really love KuyaDroid cause it's not eating much battery, but this bug is **** as hell.
Maybe it's a bug only for someone unlucky like you and me I get that problem in many rom with many kernel and can't find the solution..
Send from my brick using my fingers
Okay then, but are there any solution for this annoying bug ? I don't want mess with the bootloader for just to install a different kernel.
Full wipe
Full Wipe is not working, I tried about 5 different ROM today, and every ROM did the same thing, when screen goes off, my phone restart itself.
PCC try

touch screen not responding

I read already that a few ppl had this problem with different ROMs. I never had it before today. I switched the screen on and it looked normal but I couldn't do anything. I could swich the screen off again and tryed to press the power button long, OK shoutdown menu apeared but as the touch screen didn't respond I couldn't select anything. Well I pulled the battery out and it started normal, works good again.
Maybe I never have this problem again, but if it apears again might canging the kernel help or is it a ROM problem? I had this problem with JellyBam 4.1 so I could just use a different CM10 kernel.
BTW as I pulled the battery I have no log, but there might be a change to still get that log with ADB because the phone was still running just no touch response and that means (nearly) unuseable. I just have no clue how to do it, if it is posible could somebody tell me how to get that log?
Before pull out battery, try hold both Vol + and Power button until the phone restart (if it can, if not, then, you can pull out battery and forget the logcat ^^)

This appears to be a common P970 bug with 4.04+ ROMS. Loss of touch control, and long-pressing the power button brings up the shutdown menu which you can't access.
GB/2.3.4 ROMs don't have this bug. I'm not aware of any fix, save reverting to GB.

OMG somebody is still replying to that old post, over a year old, I don't even use that phone anymore, may last year I got my S3.
As I said, it only happend to me once with the JellyBam 4.1 ROM, I didn't gave to mutch to that problem with JellyBam, cause it was not the only one. That ROM was bs and didn't stayed long on my phone. It had everything, but nothing worked.
A lot GB and ICS ROMs worked well and even most of the CM ones worked rather good, they where just to power hungry. I liked all the Zeus ROMs, especially IZS. IZS is LG 4.0.4 based and was by fare the one I liked the most.

I shouldn't have replied to you. It's an old post. I should have targeted the latest post in the thread.
i think its hardware issue,,if i press and hold a little while on upper screen (right beside lg logo) touch screen became normal again. but sometimes need to hold on there when touch not work again. a member on this forum call it a flex issue of the touchscreen.
anyone know how much cost to replace it with new flex to fix this issue?

Need help URGENTLY (phone dead?)

having a strange problem. was having a normal day with my phone, then at some point in the day I tried turning it on and nothing. No matter what I have done the screen just doesn't come on. Here are a ist of things I tried doing.
- Take batterry out for over a minute then try and turn it on. FAILED
- take battery out the plug phone into computer and turn it on. FAILED
- Tried to enter both recovery mode and download mode. FAILED
The phone simply does not respond to any button inputs. Have had the phone for almost a year and ZERO issues. Use the phone lightly and its in top condition.
Any help will be appreciated.
Try a different battery. You have rooted the phone? Give us more info about the phone like custom ROM and what do u suspect to be the probem.

Yh, rooted and all that. Ben rooted from the first day I got it. Using philz safe kernel with the ultimate TW ROM. Never did any funky stuff on the phone. I'm pretty sure that its not from a battery cause I have two of those and I am sure its not from a bad flash or something. My last flash was over a month ago and the phone was working perfectly until it literally just stopped working like 5 mins after the last time I used it.

[Q] Help: Phone locks up often...

Hi Guys,
I have a serious problem with my Inc S. Lately, after using a few apps (mainly on the bus) the phone will go to the lock screen. A this point when the power button to wake the phone, it will just hang. The backlights will still be on but the phone is unresponsive. I have pull the battery out for 10-15 mins before it will restart. This issue happens at least 2-3 times a day. I can see no reason why this would happen. I have tried a factory reset but nothing works. Any help to resolve would be greatly appreciated.

Telling us your issue is fine. However, we need more information such as your bootloader status as well as what ROM you are currently on (if you are of course)
I have unlocked the bootloader, cwm recovery, but still running stock Rom. Haven't flashed a new Rom as yet. The phone seems to get quite hot, too. I think overheating may be the problem as it won't turn on for 15 - 30 mins after battery has been pulled out, which suggests the phone would need that time to cool? Dunno, just a thought.

Overheating is most likely your culprit. But its pretty difficult to pull the phone to about 50 degrees you really should watch whats running in your background and what applications you are running. Overheating may damage your phone and I assume you probably won't want that.
Would flashing a new Rom help? Never done it before.

Ok, so when the screen blacks out, I can still receive sms. I have turned the screen time out to "never" (as it seems to only lock up when it goes to sleep mode), but it still blacks out after say 1/2 hour and screen becomes unresponsive. Have to pull battery out for a while. Is this a hardware issue rather than a software issue?
This still an ongoing issue, and driving me nuts. When ever the phone goes to the lock screen or after a phonecall, it wont come back on. The touch still works (can play music, etc by touching screen from memory) but the screen wont show anything. Have flashed cm7.2, done wipes, etc with no luck. Any help?

Ok now that is not an overheating issue. That's probably a ROM issue or a kernel issue. I would suggest switching ROMs, maybe CyanVivoX or CyanVivo10.1 if AOSP is your thing. If not then maybe SVHD, Nik Project X Rebirth, or ViperVivo for Sense 4.1 (or Blackout or ARHD if you want Sense 3.6). Happy flashing
After a month of stuffing around and flashing my phone with different tons, I am still having the same problem. The only solution I have found is to install a wakelock app from the playstore, which isn't ideal as the screen stays on, drains battery and everything gets activated when the phone is in my pocket (mates are sick of getting phantom calls from me). The phone is no longer in warranty so I don't wanna take it to a tech.... There has to be a solution. Any further help woyl be greatly appreciated.
