I flashed my galaxy note with the rocket rom ,but the music player app is not working. I can open the app and browse through my music collection but when i sellect a song to play it hangs and says music player has stooped working. I have tried re-flashing the rom 3 times and formating my sd card and internal memory before flashing but still wont work. How can i delete the music player and install a fresh one? How can i generally fix it? Thanks.
Try going to apps and clear data and try again
it can be removed by going in to system/apps and check for the music player app and replace it with another
Here you can find all the fixes for rocketrom

Hello.
I know,there is a few questions about this,but I didn't found the solution yet.
When I want to choose a ringtone, the list shows only "Silent" option, even tough, there are some items in the folders.
The problem is also when I want to choose notification sound and ringtone sound.
Maybe it has a dependency with Media scanner, which I have uninstalled unfortunately.
Please, how should I solve this? Maybe I can install Media scanner back, but don't have the apk anymore.
Edit: the same issue with alarms...
Is this the .apk you deleted?
Media provider:

I assumed that is the one, if not let me know to check if I have it.
Hope that helps bro.

Hi,
I have had the same thing happen. I chose "Clear Data" under Settings->applications->All->Media Storage when I was trying to fix a different problem with the Music player having duplicates. It fixed that issue but seems to have taken out the ringtones and alarms. I have the German ICS Samsung update installed - can I still install the above apk to fix the ringtones?
Yesterday I have restored an old backup(CWM) and I took out MediaProvider.apk from there.
Then I have restored the current ROM and copied to system/app. Doesn't help. No media scanning after all.
So I will try to flash again my current ROM image(from zip) and then I will restore my apps. We will see.
With media scanner I did following:
- installed Root Uninstaller
- freezed MediaProvider.apk
- I was unable to unfreeze it,so I deleted that from system.
- don't really know,if the issue starts at this point or not.
EDIT:
I solved this by performing reflashing my custom ROM and restoring my apps with Titanium Backup.
Conclusion: Media scanner is important.
hi...I just manually updated my galaxy note to JB ( INU DDLSC rom downloaded from sammobile.com ) ....I cant find the stock music player app...so I checked for it in the application manager n found the app with app details with all data, cache etc with 0 bytes...so I downloaded the stock apk n when I try to install it asks ' it is a sys app.do u want to replace it' if I select yes also the app installation is not possible...can anyone suggest a solution for this ....I need stock music player..( the phone is rooted).
manually place the MusicPlayer.apk in system/app and set permissions to rw-r--r-- using any root explorer. then reboot and check.
same problem here

You have to check weather your MusicPlayer.apk is in system or preload.. After placing in system/app your Music player crashes , then surely you have previous music player apk in preload/symlink partition. So manually replace the music player app in your preload partition.

You are not using the stock rom anymore.. so the Samsung Music Player will not work without its dependent framework.
I 've got an s3 running synergy rom with tweaks and I have enabled air gestures for my default musicplayer to make it like an s4 and have it rooted as well. Ive got cwm and mobodin and I wanted to put the s4 music player on my s3 so I downloaded the zip and flashed it and wiped my dalvin cache and rebooted and it's downloaded on my external micro sd. It booted up fine and the new music player showed so I tried it out but it started freezing and unexpectedly crashing. It said it was playing a song but it wouldn't and then it would crash. It also said no music files at one time so I tried some other thiings like retrying to wipe/clear dalvin cache but It still crashed. Then I said screw it and downloaded a port of the s3 music player but now that .didn't install. I have a flashed backup recovery but I would really prefer the s4 music player. Should i rename my rop.build.prop to something else? Ive tried renaming it to the s4 model but still nothing. Is there anything I can do? Please some suggestions. I'm very tech savy and wwork at a computer repair shop and am no noob so any advice would help.

Hi HOmies !!
Before I used the cm13 system and updated the cm14 version, when the cm14 installation and the gapps were completed. . .
Start in normal mode, but with a few errors in the music player (which plays once the music, but pausing it and closing the app does not play the playlist again)
The other fault that presents me is that it asks me for super user permissions to be able to access the folders of the micro SD, I can not access those folders as it leaves the message of super permissions.
questions:
1- How do I give super permissions if using the supersu app does not give me root access to the micro Sd?
2-As I correct the problems with the reading of songs of the SD in the pp of (music) of cm14.?
3- the camera says (can not connect to cam)? As the repair?.
